Most of the staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The facility is clean and even walk ins are fairly quick.

Treating people like they have no life or other engagements. Spend a little extra money on hiring someone to be at the front desk directing people on what to do. This place is a serious joke. No one at the e front desk. They had me bring my stool sample and said I simply need to drop it off. Wait for 25 mins to see a person open the door and they said get in line to just drop off. What the heck kind of service is this. Get it together. I wasted so much time collecting samples and cant turn them in because I have to get back to my life and have a plane to catch. Came here for blood work. The we site said 15 min wait for walk-in. When I got there they said it would be a 4 hr wait. When I scheduled an appointment I only waited for 35 min The personal were very kind and apologetic. I feel bad for them because they front line workers and overwhelmed. I gave this one star because I could not give it a zero. I came to this quest diagnostic center because I used it once before, and it seemed pretty efficient even for walk-ins about a year ago. I had to get my annual blood panel done simple blood withdrawal procedure. Upon arrival, there is not a single human being in the check-in area, and never was. They replaced a receptionist with automated check-in terminals. There is no interaction at all until a phlebotomist comes to the door and calls someone in. If you engage them, they direct you to the terminals. I came at the end of the day 3 o'clock... ( as I had done a year prior) this facility closed at 4:30 there was less than a handful of individuals. After almost 90 min, Looking at the queue there was no more appointments and only myself and another walk-in and it was 420. The phlebotomist came out and told me they had to close. The other patient and I explained that we still had 10 minutes left and that they could totally get us in... he took us in. His colleague could not find my blood order and basically told me that since they could not find it, they could not do the extraction. And kicked me out. I had fasted all day ... I returned the next day after talking to my doctors office who told me they could not even call on the doctors line to talk to somebody there and ask me if I could confirm with someone that they received the fax when I arrived. Again the same procedure I sat down and waited. Someone came out, and I explained the situation. They found the fax and gave it to me and told me to wait in the waiting room. At one point there were 17 people in line and zero people being serviced. I have the photo and it stayed like this for at least half an hour. a gentleman came up to drop off a sample and they told him he needed to go through the check-in queue! Literally, he had the bag already ready and all they had to do is take it and then made him go through the check-in, queue, and sit down and wait for 15 to 20 minutes before they came back out again to take it from him! I sat there for two hours, waiting, while the standby queue only went down by three people. It was a complete travesty and a joke. They tell you to call the number but when you call the number, you are in automated service that never let you talk to a human being confirmed by my doctors office as well. The staff at this facility is indifferent, nonchalant, and aloof. They do not care. They are also rude and condescending. There is no manager or administrator that oversees them just phlebotomist/lab techs... this place wasted my time as I had to return to work after two hours... if I was quest, I would send an administrator over there to get that team in line and start organizing the way they process their lines... they weren't even taking the appointment on time much less processing through the walk-in queue... I will never go there again. In short, they suck. Trust me, don't waste your time going there thinking you'll have a different experience. my opinion is not unique as several of us in the waiting room were all voicing the same concerns and frustrations... read more

Great lab! I was a walk-in patient and welcomed and serviced within 10 mins. This Hoag hospital suite is spacious (encouraging social distancing easily). Facility is clean, efficient and friendly. Pleubotmist, Matthew, was friendly setting me at ease while expertly taking my blood. He did not falter even with my very tricky rolly-polly veins! Sat there for almost 30mins with no quest employees in sight. Not even a receptionist. I waited for over an hour With An Appointment! The kiosk did not accept my confirmation code so it scheduled me as a walk-in. They had no one at the front desk to help, and the desk remained empty the whole time. I watched as they took back 6 people who signed in after I did. They never called my name after an hour and I had to leave because I had a client scheduled. I know people in labs are very busy these days, and, this "Customer Service" is unacceptable. Great experience at this location as opposed to the one at 1401 Avocado. It's located in the Hoag Hospital building on the third floor. Had an 8:30 appointment and was taken in immediately. I feel bad hoag has to share ass - space with this organization in their building. My doctor ordered me to drop off a urine sample to them. It's 2:30 pm and Come to find out people in the lobby had been waiting for over 2 hours. The names on the check-in list said when their appointment was coming up and then was delayed another 20 minutes to an hour. I'm dealing with a extreme scary time with my mom. She has to have an emergency surgery for Brest cancer. It been a nightmare to get all the thing done the surgeon needed (testing and approvals) done. Then to top it off my mom's primary lost her EKG and bloom work. I had to try and walk in to this location hoping they would take us. As soon as I walk in Mathew greeted us and i could see on his face and voice that they had no time. I explained the situation and he took us right in. He was beyond amazing with my mom. This is a scary time for us and people like him is what the medical field needs more of. Just like every other location: massive, chain blood lab. I've been here a couple of times in the past several years, and all I can say is it does what it does, not very organized at times, wait times can be long especially in the early mornings when everyone's there before work or due to the fasting requirements. Bathrooms are outside in the hallway and you will need a key to get in, only one stall. Parking is confusing because there's still construction for the building. The lab is on the 2nd floor not on the 1st floor like the directory says. read more

When I got there a few minutes early the day of my 9 AM appointment, I checked in from the text reminder I received on my phone and took a seat. All my insurance info was already submitted, so I didn't have to do any paper work there except for a signature when I was done. My husband and I just got our blood drawn with 1 poke each so we were happy. My lab guy (a younger Asian guy) was great! He kept me entertained with conversation the entire time and used the butterfly needle for my minuscule veins. The wait time wasn't bad at around 45 minutes, but we didn't have an appointment so... Minus one star because a middle-aged Asian lady employee was argumentative with a 90-year-old grandma about her check in. She could have been nicer to the sweet old lady, and the old lady left quietly upset. Kind of bothered me because I love little old ladies... The check in process with the computer wasn't working and there was no one at the front desk to help. I asked the phlebotomist why there wasn't anyone to help and she said they haven't had anyone at the front desk in 2 years. She suggested to try and wave the paperwork with the QR code around and it may help. There were 6 patients that were having problems and I tried to help but it wasn't working for me either. When I need information about the process for a procedure it is impossible to get. There is no route to accessing a representative directly.

I made an appointment to quest 3 days prior and received test messages about the upcoming visit. When I arrived, they said my name was not on the list and my text verifications did not include the confirmation code so they could not confirm me. I only had about 30 minutes between work to complete this appointment, and it turned in and hour and 15 because I had to "walk in" visit. I also watched many other people walk up with appointments but said their name was not on the list. The receptionist was also unable to get onto her computer so she wasn't able to help with the situation much. read more

In other labs, including the one right next door to my doctor's office, the techs "stab" me several times to draw the sample. Got tired of being hurt. Unfortunately this team is very unorganized and unfriendly. The girl checking in was negative and non-helpful. When I supplied my new proof of medical card (which is a print out while waiting for the new one) the insurance company was very clear that it is acceptable she scoffed at it. Duh check the system for proof of coverage. I've never had an issue getting an appointment at this location. I recommend booking your appointment sooner than later = when you know you need to get lab work done, book your damn appointment! I always use the Quest website as it is incredibly easy to navigate through choosing your date, time and confirmation request. I really like the 'new' facility on the bottom floor that's close to Beach Blvd - very clean, very quiet, staff is always pretty nice. Just take your appointment seriously, they can only help you as much as you help them! read more

There is not a better Quest than the one on Beach at the Hoag Center. Be sure to make an appointment. If you don't make an appointment you will wait. This was the best experience by far with Quest. I'm usually very anxious about getting my labs drawn especially because I'm not the easiest stick. I happened to be in the area with extra time in between my errands so I thought I'd give this place a chance. Adriana helped me check in and was so friendly and helpful. I didn't have an appointment so I waited about 5-10 mins and she took me back. She was quick and she naturally calmed my nerves so before I knew it the procedure was over and I had a small dressing on my arm. Didn't feel a thing!! If they had 10 stars I would give her that.
