Other locations usually alternate between appointments and walk ins. This place ain't it. The only time they did the walk ins is when there was an appointment 30 minutes later. I ended up being the last one on the standby list and had to stay till their closing time. Maybe if they weren't as slow as people say they aren't I wouldn't be complaining. The kiosk said 30-45 minutes wait time...I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR ALMOST 4 HOURS AND MOST LIKELY HAVE TO WAIT TILL THEY CLOSE! AND I HAVE BEEN HERE SINCE 11 IN THE FUCKING MORNING!! Terrible wait times even with appointments. I've been here for 30 minutes and have only seen ONE person pulled in when I've seen already 3 additional staff members walk in. When the only employee that came out and called a name, I asked about being there an hr early wanting to join the standby in case it's fast and she "didn't know how to do that" and shrugged her shoulders and moved on to calling the next person. This Quest Diagnostics Lab was very delayed. Patients were very upset. Patients have been waiting for 30+ minutes past their appointment times. The waiting room was not very comfortable. But there was an outlet if you need to charge a device but there was only ONE. Bring a jacket, it's cold in the waiting room. They required masks but they didn't offer any. The check-in kiosks were not reliable, you need to make sure that your name appears on the TV screen that says who has checked in. I needed to check in multiple times before my name popped up. If you are even 5 minutes late, they will skip you and then you will be considered a walk in. So come on time. They will call your name when they are ready for you. It can be very quiet so pay attention. Overall...I came here because I didn't have a choice. I will check if I have other options in the future. Just be mindful to be on time and don't schedule anything immediately afterwards because it can be very delayed. read more

One of the BEST ways I keep track of my health (other than weight) is the results of my bloodwork, and absolutely one of the BEST places is QUEST DIAGNOSTICS! I have had the greatest success at the nearby immaculate QUEST DIAGNOSTICS (205 South Drive, Ste G, Mountain ViewCA 94040 USA ;408.202.4085; questdiagnostics.com) as a walk-in. Despite not having an appointment and possibly having an extended wait time, I walked-in and, after signing-in/logging-in (driver's license/insurance cards required to expedite the process), I waited maybe 10 or 15 minutes before hearing fantastic technician MARGIE call my name. I have had many, many blood draws over the past five decades, and maybe two or three went as smoothly as with MARGIE. She is so experienced/knowledgeable about the process, both from the paperwork (bring a hardcopy of your doctor orders, even if it many pages--I personally think it could be winnowed to fewer) and the jabbing. MARGIE was expert in every aspect, especially with her friendly/professional drawtable-side (bedside) manner. My only regret is that whatever remnants of my Tagalog have long since faded from my Subic Bay/Olongapo days & nights of authoritarian/dictator Marcos martial law 45+ years ago. As much as I look forward to returning, I already know that Cebu (and other points further South), MARGIE's area of origin, will be my focus. I went to Quest Diagnostics yesterday and had such a great experience! The phlebotomist, I think her name was Johanna, was absolutely amazing. She was gentle, quick, and super friendly, which made the whole blood draw way less stressful than usual. I barely felt the needle and she made sure I was comfortable the entire time. I was at this Quest Diagnostics center for the first time for my bloodwork. It covers BCBS insurance. The appointment booking is online. It was busy, and wait time was over 30 minutes past my appointment time, though the staff was trying their best to be as quick as possible. They seem understaffed compared to the orders or clients they have, residing in the medical square. First and foremost. This location isn't easy to find if you aren't from the area. The signs on the buildings out front have no number and "quest diagnostics" is written so small under the two other practice names--so, it's easy to bypass... which I did on my first go around. Secondly, there is limited seating because there are soooo many folks here. Found out while I was waiting that they are pretty short staffed (regularly) and they definitely cop an attitude with folks when questioned about wait time. Ive been in a few different quest labs in my day, and I have to say this location is a bit... dingy. Carpet and seating is old... smells a little musky in the waiting area which is unpleasant. But I came here out of convenience, not comfort, so.... Meh. Be advised--no one is in the reception area to answer your questions or check you in. It is far faster to check-in on your phone if you made an online appointment than to check-in on site, so there's that. Also, don't walk-in. They always prefer appointments over walk-ins... so don't be that individual who complains about the walk-in wait time when you know what the outcome is going to be. Staff is moderately friendly--not very conversational... but they sure are quick and efficient. Can't complain there. I was taken back within 8 minutes of my scheduled appointment time and was out the door within an additional 10. Not bad. read more

This place is unbelievable. My wife has never had any issues with blood draws anywhere else, but the way she was treated here was completely unacceptable. The phlebotomist who did the blood draw was impatient from the start. After inserting the needle, not much blood was coming out, so she kept adjusting it. My wife was totally fine with that, though she did grimace a little because, obviously, having a needle adjusted can be uncomfortable. Instead of being understanding, the phlebotomist acted like my wife was overreacting and insisted on calling 911 to have emergency services "take care of her," even though my wife clearly said she was just a bit nervous and needed to rest. The phlebotomist kept pressuring her about calling 911, which only made my wife more anxious and eventually caused her to break down in tears. To top it off, the phlebotomist started complaining to her coworkers, making judgments about my wife's mental state, and even said that's probably why she needed the blood draw in the first place. I'm absolutely shocked by their unprofessional behavior and can't believe someone like that is still employed. Avoid this place at all costs! read more

Didn't have the WORST experience, but instructions could have definitely been more clear. I came here for an employer drug-screen and was not able to make an appointment from scheduling through the background check provider or from Quest Diagnostics online. As the previous review read, since they close for lunch hour 11:30AM-12:30PM, I made sure to arrive with plenty of time to spare. I walked in at 10:15AM and there was one other walk-in that arrived at the same time as me. There is no receptionist or anyone sitting at the front desk, so I checked in through the kiosk. IMPORTANT - make sure when you check in through the kiosk you select the STAND BY option. If you select the other option, it will prompt you to scan your ID, insurance card, and give you a number (i.e 001). You DO NOT WANT THAT. Select the STAND BY option and ensure you have typed your name down and see your name on the stand by list (see picture). If you do not see your name on the stand by list on the TV, you are not in the queue. I learned this hard way since I got the 001 number which said the next representative will help you. However, another walk-in patient had checked in the kiosk and I had saw the stand-by list with their name on it. So as such, even though I had got there 40 minutes before the other walk-in patient, she was seen first since she had technically put her name down first. Since there was no one to explain the rules properly, I had just lost so much time sitting there. The other reviews are right, they will always prioritize appointments ahead of walk-ins. I think it took me about just under 1.5 hours to be called, and I was able to finish my drug screen in about 10 minutes. The nurses were nice and friendly when seeing each patient, but not so much as receptionists. read more

I've been to this location twice with an appointment and I've never had to wait very long. The first time was probably in the morning while the second was 2:30 p.m. At my latest visit, I checked in and sat for two minutes at most before I was called in and left within five minutes. I actually arrived 5-10 minutes later than planned due to an impromptu meeting after work, but that didn't seem to impact their efficiency. Very few people were in the waiting room when I arrived, presumably because it was in the afternoon and most people don't want to fast on a work day. The phlebotemist was kind and the amount of pain was what I expected (i.e., a slight prick as the needle entered the vein). I generally prefer to go to the Safeway in San Antonio Shopping Plaza, but I might consider visiting this Quest more often since it's nearby. Although no lab is perfect, it did meet my needs. My only tip is that patients look carefully at the parking spaces in the lot. While driving in the first time, I noticed there was a sign saying that you need permit but took a chance since I wasn't sure where else to park. I didn't realize it until my second visit that the spaces almost directly in front of the entrance are labeled patient/visitor parking. read more

So the odd quirk about my masters program (nurse Informatics) is that I have to take a drug test before I can do my clinical. Nevermind that its at a facility I have worked at for 20 years but I digress This was the closest lab to me. To be clear the one star is not for the customer service which was top notch. Its for the company that clearly shows a blatant lack of respect to not only its employees but US its customers. They place is understaffed. The techs never stopped working. They maintained a high level of customer service despite this. Tara who took care of me was excellent. The waiting area needs renovation. From the stained walls to the broken shutter, the the carpet that may have seen its best side sometime during the Clinton Administration, to the dingy exterior. Its a sad building. Awful. I showed up for my 11:30 appointment and wasn't called in until 12. There was no one at the front desk. The lobby was packed with people. There was one lady who was a walk-in and had been waiting for over an hour. The staff rarely came out to take people in, no idea what they're all doing back there. The worst part is the elderly Asian lady who may be the boss of this place. She's extremely rude and should be fired. I was the 11:30 appointment and was 20 minutes past due. Then there was the other lady who's been waiting for over an hour. The elderly boss lady walks out, seems like she was about to call someone, but then a man walked in and flagged her down to say that he didn't know how to use the check-in kiosk. She asked him if he had an appointment and he said no, she then asked if she was there for a drug test, and when he said yes, she took him in right away. WTF? All of us were waiting in line. When I was finally called in by a younger staff, she was very pleasant and competent. But halfway through my blood draw, the elderly boss lady came and stood at the doorway and just watched and said nothing. We both looked at her, like, "WTF do you want?" And she was like, "Just waiting for my patient." Like, ok, go be creepy elsewhere and hurry the F up and call people instead of just farting around. Would never go back to this place. My experience at this Quest location was great. My draws are usually pretty difficult, but the phlebotomists who helped me were kind, competent and efficient. I wish I could give a negative rating to Quest and this specific center. I go to this center often out of not having another choice. My insurance covers it. Very rude staff. Highly unprofessional, unresponsive, uncaring, nonchalant, and abusive. They won't even draw your blood unless you make a payment up front. For dropping a sample they made me go there 3 times in one day, each time waiting and waiting for the staff to call me in when they wish, to let me know that I need to pay up front for the test since the insurance might not pay for it!!! Then they refused to take the sample unless I paid up front. I left the center and called my insurance. My insurance said they do cover it. They also told me that if Quest says it accepts my insurance, it can't charge me up front or refuse service!!!! They have to charge the insurance first and then hold me responsible for the rest. The staff just don't care. But this attitude is dictated down from the top management. They just don't care and want to make money. They know people need their blood tests and have to go where their insurance covers it. Therefore, they treat us like sheep. I had an appointment and that is how I got treated. I was ignored, spoken to in a rude manner and then refused service unless if I paid up front. If you have options stay away. read more

The first time we were a couple of minutes late, and a nurse rudely told us to reschedule. We left disappointed, but while driving home, another nurse called and asked us to return, which we did. Unfortunately, we had to schedule another appointment there since no other locations had availability. The same rude nurse attended to us. She demanded that we pay the balance due before service, which we did without issue, but her tone remained rude and unprofessional. After payment, I waited outside while she drew my wife's blood. The nurse forcefully hit a nerve, causing my wife to scream in pain. She showed no remorse and seemed to enjoy causing pain. We will never visit this location again and do not recommend it to anyone. What a terrible experience with Nahid; The rudest healthcare person I've ever dealt with in my life. As i sat down quietly waiting for my turn in the waiting room, this lady pops out into the waiting area, "I called you 4 times"..I'm like what? I was there early for my appointment too. We walk in the back room and she rudely tells me to sit down like I was getting ready to be finger printed for some felony that i just committed. I informed her that her attitude was very poor and she stormed out to talk to another associate in another room. This other associate was like a Filipina from heaven, who ultimately convinced me to stay and complete my blood draw instead of going somewhere else. Ryan is incredibly kind, efficient, professional and literally the best in this lab! He took me as a last patient walk-in when the other lazy ones were dismissing everyone. They could have easily helped the other lady who is new in town and was lost but made just in time but was sent away by the lazy ones. Ryan on the other hand was superb working and making count his services assisting patients until the last minute. I hope this company give a bonus to Ryan. He is truly an example of excellent service and commitment to assist and make his time count. And shame to the other lazy employees who could have been the heroes helping people. Witnessed a patient in the waiting room who had passed out after her blood draw, and the staff seemed uncertain what to do. Our lab tech was defensive, hard to understand behind her mask, and not great with peds. Would not recommend for a pediatric blood draw. read more

Just had a horrible experience at this location they had 45 minutes to go before close requested that I give them my blood draw forms via email which is not HIPAA compliant and doctors office immediately and speaking with the doctor over the phone was requesting a fax number, however a technician a Persian and Indian technician were extremely rude and said that I could come back tomorrow after fasting all day and they were very condescending and unprofessional. I would not advise coming here. They wanted to just leave. Maybe they had too much to drink the night before on Fourth of July not sure but very poor service. 11/3/21 Check in is done via an iPad/ a Kiosk. I needed a live customer service support but nobody even welcomed us. There are 3 more persons waiting in the lobby besides us. This place is not manned smartly. We have been here for almost 44 min now. Sad 11/4/21 we are back and checked in at 12:30 pm as usual. Now waiting in the lobby. There are 3 people waiting ahead of us. Still no live receptionist. It's 12:56 pm. It's 1:23 pm and still waiting... 1:45 got inside the Lab for measurement and blood test. I had blood drawn and during my draw, I started feeling tingly sensation on the arm, I told the lady about it, and just told me I needed to drink water. I didn't think about it much but then going home I started feeling sore and I looked up my symptoms and it looks like the person drawing my blood hit my nerve! This place is so unprofessional.
