Cancelled by this office less than 24 hrs prior to visit due to "building maintenance,"

Arrived to find an appointment was recommended. Lab results needed to be available with in a week by md so I logged in as a walk in. Check in and insurance/ID collection was all done electronically. There was no on up front to provide assistance or answer questions. The waiting area was packed and my name appeared on screen as a third walkin client. I waited a hoir and a half while at least a dozen patrons came in and were promptly processed. When a staff member finally walked out back, i was told they couldn't guarantee I would have lab drawn any time soon because I did not have an appointment. I left and located another lab that serviced walk ins and was completed in 10 min. I was fasting and needed to eat and take meds. I will never return to Quest read more

Went here to give blood for annual checkup. After entering my name in their computer, I was immediately taken in and handled with care. I recommend this Quest over any others I have been to. Also, the staff is very friendly, the office is as clean and organized as one could imagine, plus their safety is top notch. read more

Not sure why they have a 3-star rating when my experience was awesome! Walked in on a Thursday morning at 7:55A with a 9A appointment, checked in and was immediately seen. No one was waiting. Follow up to yesterday's post where they left me waiting for text message to come in for lab testing that was scheduled. I never received a text. After much effort,I reached a live person on phone from Quest call center. After much discussion, they said a supervisor from the Newbury Park location would call me within 4-6 hours. It has been 24 hours and no call. It is obvious that Quest could care less about the inconvenience they have caused and correcting issues so it doesn't happen again. read more

I made an appointment for 11:00 am at the Quest Lab (1000 Newbury Rd STE 125, Newbury Park, CA 91320) for Tuesday, March 3rd, 2020. I arrived at my appointment on time and checked in. After waiting for 20 min I asked the employee at the front desk (her name is Delia, I had to ask her coworker as Delia was not wearing a name tag) when I would be taken in. She said in a couple of minutes in a grumpy manner. 10 minutes later (at 11:30 am), Delia took the 11:15 am appointment ahead of me (I found out as I spoke with the patient as she got out). I asked Delia why she took the 11:15 am appt. ahead of me, she looked at me, mumbled a few words, turned her back and walked away without a response. No apologies, nothing. I had to wait 45 minutes to get my blood drawn and I had an appointment ! The Quest employee Delia is not fit for that position, she is incapable of keeping track of appointment times, she is uncaring and unprofessional. Moreover, the person who took my blood was also not wearing a name tag. I believe this violates the company rules. Quest Lab, please hire the right people and give them proper training !!!! At least teach your people to apologize when necessary. If Delia were to apologize for her mistake, I would not have written this review. Substandard lab, poor customer service. The place was dirty and unsanitary. There was what looked like dried blood and some sort of debris on the bench before paper was put down. There was trash and dirt on the floor. Samples were left next to the sink when they should've been put away. Worst phlebotomist i've ever had. It hurt so bad and I've never had an issue with that before. My veins are easy to find and they had to try twice. Never going back to this office. read more

This gets 2 stars because I'm averaging the first time with the 2nd and last time we used this facility. Miriam is excellent and that is all. As we sat in the waiting room the 2nd time a patron came in so very upset at the HIPPA violations and no soap in the bathroom etc. I found it uncomfortable to listen to the staff argue why they don't use hand sanitizer and then whisper how they agree about the HIPPA complaint. It wasn't until the staff used the phone and announced to everyone in the waiting room exactly why we were there that I too became concerned about the blatant HIPPA violations. No privacy at this facility or professionalism from Myra who wasn't even able to draw blood after we waited for over an hour. Luckily we found BIOTEX just down the road. I have used this facility for 9 years once a month for my blood work. I have never had an issue until recently. I was asked about 4 months ago for a credit card to "keep on file" in case of charges, "it is a new policy." I did not think anything of it at the time and gave them the card. I have now been asked each visit for a $9 co-pay. The first time, I went to my Dr and asked about this new policy, he was shocked and said he would call them. The next visit, I was told there was $9 due and my "standing order" for blood work had been cancelled. I left and went to my Dr again and once again he was shocked and had his Office Manager call. In the meantime, I called my Insurance provider and they said I have a .70 cent co-pay but it is usually not collected. I have never had to pay for blood work. I have now contacted the Compliance Office VP and I am waiting for a call. I would like to ALERT everyone going here, it is obvious something is going on here. It is either the Office Staff lining there pockets or it is Quest. Either where are you, this is wrong! Got a call from the Compliance Officer who states their new policy of estimating charges is compliant. They estimate the amount of responsibility but then promise to only charge what is due? I have an idea, how about you check what is due and charge the correct amount from the beginning?! What a concept! Let's see, I go to pay my car insurance deductible after an accident and the Body Shop asks for $5000. But my deductible is actually $0, hmmmm should I authorize it?! You are idiots! read more

Nice clean building. There should be more seating in the waiting area. Although I didn't have an appointment, the wait was an hr. I heard the staff complain it being busy like this all week? Wouldn't you staff it correctly to meet the needs? My Advice, call and get an appointment. Also, hope the staff doesn't have friends visiting them to chit chat while you're waiting. read more

Nice place. It is clean and parking is easy. The wait is horrendous all day long. They have like 2 girls working and the place is always full of patients. I dont know why they dont hire more people. I feel bad for the workers, they are constantly apologizing to everyone. Definitely make an appointment if you are coming here. Even with my appointment I had to wait 15 minutes. had an unpleasant experience at Quest in Newbury Park about 90 minutes ago. Quest's counter has computer check in, which is fine, but is completely in lieu of any live person to receive patients. In the past, I've seen how a receptionist, if there was any sort of problem with the patient's paperwork, or some question regarding the actual blood tests to be done, could attempt to resolve the problem with the patient. But no such person was present today when I arrived on time for an appointment. The Lab Technician escorted me back to a testing room, seated me, looked at her testing equipment and a computer monitor, and only at that point indicated that her monitor was not showing a doctor's order for the testing. She did not offer any suggestion for how to resolve this--she's not a receptionist or record keeper etc.--told me to look at her computer screen, though I never doubted that she could not find an order. She just kept repeating, as if I was too stupid to hear her, that she needed an order. I told her that it had been my understanding that there was a standing order for the same bloodwork I have done every 6 months or so, I hadn't brought in a new order over many visits. She said there were no such things as standing orders as if she thought I was not telling the truth about my prior visits. Finally, I suggested that I could visit the doctor, who is next door, to see if I could get an order written or reissued. The lab tech indicated, you could try, maybe they're not there today, suggesting to me that for whatever reason, this tech simply did not want to provide service to me. I said, let me see what I can do and asked if I could still keep my place in the appointment line, and she sighed heavily and audibly, yes. I thought this was still a sign that she really was not interested in helping me today, and I said audibly as I left, "attitude". The doctor's office made a new order, I returned to Quest, and this lab tech told me loud enough for everyone in the lobby to hear, as I presented new paperwork, that she was not serving me, and to take a seat to wait for someone else. Which I did. Someone else attended to me several minutes later, and the test went on without incident. I blame Quest for making its techs perform both patient service and office procedure duties. For no apparent reason but to save a few dollars on each visit, the company has to serve patients in volume to make money. At least on this occasion, Quest had someone performing the office procedure work with either no training or forgotten training about simple customer service. What kind of lab tech she is, I can't say, she changed her mind about providing service to me. read more

Nice building. Pleasant enough. There is a rush in the morning for those with fasting blood work. They do not staff adequately and there is an inordinate wait for service. Try somewhere else if you need morning lab tests. read more

Zero stars. Terrible service with long wait. I used to be able to walk in with specimen for drop off and they'd help me right away. I'd give them the specimen, lab slip and they'd have me sign a paper. Now they make everybody wait, so more people are sitting in lobby waiting. All they have to do is is hand me the paper to sign and take my lab specimen. Last week one of them left for lunch when I first arrived and I was still waiting when she came back. I will give my business to Lab Corp and I will refer my patients to Lab Corp when I discharge them from home health care. read more

I use Quest Diagnostics in Newbury Park for my annual blood work. I am amazed at the lack of patience and consideration of ppl who are upset because they have to wait because they didn't have an appointment. Yes there are usually just two to three persons doing all the tasks that are required but if you were to average out the whole day, there would be periods where they would be idle, waiting for a person in need of lab work. I find the persons who draw bloods to be professional and courteous and have never had a bad experience yet. I have never had to wait for more than 20 minutes when I didn't have an appointment. If ppl would only consider the staff at Quest cannot control how many ppl who need lab work done the moment they need lab work, they would be considerate and patient. Ppl don't like waiting so they disc the staff for taking too long. Please be as patient, professional, and courteous as you expect the staff to be and your experience will be four to five stars. read more

New to the Thousand Oaks area and six months pregnant, my OB sent me to a Quest to do my glucose diabetes test. I went to this location for both my 1-hour and 3-hour tests - can I just say how nice and sweet the staff is? All the women there are very friendly and very helpful with information on your laboratory needs. I was feeling dizzy and lightheaded during my 3-hour test and they noticed right away and immediately led me to a room to lay down. I am also a chicken when it comes to drawing blood and my experience there has definitely been the most painless yet. No bruising after either! read more

Can't talk to a person when you call. The automated service will actually hang up on you if you have a question that doesn't fit into their prompts (like, should you fast?). Continues to tell you to go online. Made appointment online, hoping I didn't have to fast... But I did so I had to reschedule. Had to wait 15 minutes when I got there just to find out that I couldn't get my lab work. No one works the front desk. This was my second experience, my first was waiting an hour (WITH an appointment). Amazing this place is still in business. Would give it no stars if I could. :( read more
