Today I had came to this location for blood work and had an appointment scheduled. Unfortunately, I was running a bit late, so my arrival time was not on the mark. From my previous experiences, I figured I could come as a walk-in and just have to wait behind the appointments. I came in, saw a group of individuals waiting (but not an overwhelming amount) and sat down. You could hear the group in the back just talking as we waited, so the lack of privacy was evident along with feeling as though we were an inconvenience to their conversation. The woman came out and took an appointment, and when asking about my appointment, she said this location doesn't take walk ins - which was the first I've heard. As I had mentioned in a different review, they encouraged appointments for the reason that it would make it easier on the patient, but in this case it just felt like they didn't want to take care of anyone they didn't expect. Even though, I did have an appointment for the day! It was pretty disappointing because her tone of voice was rude and she tried sending us to a different location that could 'take us'. Compared to the last visits, they at least checked to see if they had any room or cancellations, but she just told us to go to Los Gatos. To me, it felt inconsiderate since the group in the back hadn't felt rushed to end their conversations for the patients in the waiting room so time being of the 'essence' wasn't the problem. I ended up leaving, and because there is no receptionist or supervisor, patients are at the mercy of those who take care of them whether or not they can be seen. It feels really inconsistent at this location, which seems to be the only thing they are consistent at. I was anticipating the worst (waiting longer and behind the others whose appointments came after), but instead she tried sending us elsewhere rudely without any consolation. I can't imagine the frustration others could feel if they come in late and be turned away - especially if they live further out. This location mentioned that you can't be more than five minutes late which is pretty slim compared to most hospitals (where 10-15 minutes is typical). She said that it was because of them having appointments every 5 minutes (which is also untrue according to the online appointments) and the behavior of the associates didn't demonstrate it being as 'time sensitive' as she had mentioned. I've been here three times total, and 2/3 times haven't been as pleasant. The second time was really excellent, but I wish there was a set of rules and guidelines. Having no receptionist makes this place a bit of a nightmare, but I obliged. It's just being told incorrect information and being pushed away elsewhere wasn't really positive. I remember my first visit as a walk in was a 30 min wait time, but now this location suddenly doesn't accept walk ins? Kind of strange. I have a lot of mixed feelings about this location, so I ended up taking their advice - I'll just go to Los Gatos from now on! read more

Easy experience at this Quest location. When other Quest sites were fully booked as of the night before, this one had 22 openings, so I grabbed one for 10:40 am. Easy to park, just a quick QR code scan to check in and 30 seconds later the others in the waiting room looked annoyed when I was already called to the back. The phlebotomist knew what she was doing so I was in and out in a jiffy. Not giving 5 stars because the signage from the medical office building lobby was a little subtle so it took me a sec to figure out where I was going. I went to this location to pick up a specimen bottle. They only gave me one, when they should have given me two. The woman looked at my doctor's request, so there is no excuse for her incompetence. Because of her mistake, I had to make two trips to another Quest location. When I dropped off the first bottle, she told me I should have been given 2 specimen bottles. So, she gave me the second one, and had to return a second time to drop it off. Quest should train their personnel better. Very poor. read more

If Quest Diagnostics can't have a receptionist, why don't they have a designated drop off location? This is beyond my imagination. I made an appointment just to drop off lab work. That appointment got lost somewhere in the "new and improved" system and had to make another one just before my original appointment. Then I waited the hour for my appointment only to wait another 1/2 hour while Quest employees sang Happy Birthday to someone in the back. I had an appointment for August 3rd at 7:40 am. I checked in and waited. Another patient with the same first name went in before me, and she was on the wait list! I finally got in after a 45 minute wait and was told I signed in as a walk in. BS! Then I was told I had to pay my portion then and there. I didn't have my credit card with me. I thought they would bill me! NOPE! I was mad as heck and I made an appointment with another Quest. read more

The person drawing my blood wasn't very compassionate. She was mean and made me feel very uncomfortable. The procedure was actually quite painful for me and she didn't make it any better by telling me it's my fault because I didn't drink water. At the end I had to sign my name and I was digging in my bag for my own pen. The lady then scolded at me some more saying "here! Just use this one". I felt pretty forced and uncomfortable using her un-sanitized pen that she has been using for who knows how long? I don't think that was really safe considering we are in a pandemic and all and this was a health facility. I thought they would have better practice but I guess not. My experience here was pretty negative. Hopefully all the other techs aren't as harsh as the person who drew my blood. Oh and I was heavily bleeding after she finished. I don't understand why these people that work here are so mean to patients who obviously don't want to be there getting poked either. I walked out and did not let her get her mean hands on my vein. Hard times made harder: I walked in to find out no walk-ins are now allowed. The person who informed me of this new policy was already angry at 7:30 AM and, I'm sure, carries a "license to be rude for free" in her wallet. She was rude to me for not knowing anything about the no-walk-in policy and the person who was next to me for something else. The suggestion was to make an appointment through their website or over the phone: the website is not mobile friendly and it gets stuck in the zip code screen. The phone option is fully automated and it features a virtual operator who keeps saying "I'm sorry I did not quite get that" over and over again (while I said nothing at all) and there is no option to talk to a human being. In all, this business is in a crisis and it's showing way too much. To enter the world of medical appointments and tests is already tricky -and expensive- compounded by places like this which make things even harder and, ultimately, have no business being in business. read more

And when we entered after receiving the 2nd message, the 2 people at the reception were extremely rude and started yelling about being late and they cannot service us even though it was their fault! read more

My 17 year old son went in to drop off a specimen. He had never done that before and was having trouble checking in. When asking for help from a blonde woman she said she would not even talk to him unless he checked in. He tried multiple times to explain he needed help but she ignored him and refused to help him. He ended up leaving after not knowing what to do. read more

This Quest Diagnostics location is conveniently located near the Samaritan Group. So if you are in the Stanford network, you probably would come here often especially after your doctor's appointment. Going to Quest, there is always a few general tips: make sure to make your reservation online to avoid the long wait. However, given the current COVID, sometimes walk-in has been pretty reasonable (about 15-30 minutes wait time), especially if you already have the doctor's notes to speed through the appointment system at the front desk. When you walk in, make sure to go directly to the appointment machine desk to check in. Don't get confused or blocked by people who are simply waiting and already checked-in. The worst experience we ever had with a day care. We went to get a blood test and The "doctor" Miriam doesn't stop rushing my girlfriend like we at the gas station, talked dirty to us and lied that we were late in 5 minutes so she cannot accept us. The only thing she said was, "call to the manager and tell him you are not happy ". I almost loss my nuts on her, the most rudest person I ever meet. After an hour long drive I was late by about 10 minutes for an urgent appointment, and attendant spoke rudely! They did not take me in. The time limit policy is not even mentioned on the scheduling app! Neither do other locations have the policy posted. Slow Slog With The Technician... After reading the reviews of this place posted during the past year, it's a wonder they're still alive. I've had my blood drawn for tests at this office of Quest Diagnostics on a Saturday morning about 3 times a year for the past 12 years. It was always a mess with customers cramped into a small space until Quest remodeled it sometime in 2016. It's really spacious now, but problems begin once my name was called to see a technician. On a recent Saturday morning, I had an appointment at 1115 AM...got there at 1055 AM and was called back within 10 minutes. Not bad! But that was the start of a long slow slog before I was able to leave. I sat in a testing chair by one of the cubbyholes with a technician named Catalina. This "mature" lady might be a very nice person, but I sat for a full 25 minutes while she entered information from my 2 lab requests into her computer. What took so long? Catalina said the lab request from 2 doctors made it more complicated, but noted "many of the tests are similar". I've gone to Quest with requests from 2 doctors many times in the past and it never took more than 10 minutes for "paperwork". Catalina also asked me to pay for one set of tests. Although it was only $8.80, I said it's the first time that ever happened in the lab during all my years of visiting the place. Fortunately, she did a good job of drawing blood and I was able to leave 10 minutes after the paperwork ended. Still...35 minutes in that chair was a bit much to bear while fasting for 12 hours. read more

Hello I have been a Patient of this Quest at this location for 20 years. I was just at there yesterday for more blood work and yesterday I was set up with Kaylie to do my Blood tests and as usual she was right in time, very understanding about my needs and treated me with respect . My reason for wanting to do a first time Yelp for that Quest Lab in general and at the Samaritan location I have seen some very negative (even hurtful) Yelps toward the Staff that work at that location and I feel it necessary for me to say that the staff person "Linda" that seems to be in charge has never after maybe 50 plus times I have needed anytime of test my Doctors have ordered blood work or all the other tests I need been rude and has treated me with respect. It is important to understand that when they are seeing patients scheduled almost ever 15 minuets that it is pressure for all the staff that have to also adhered to the requirements of the company. Before coming here, check the website and make an appointment. The walk-in wait time is usually really long but appointments are very reasonable. This office has gone through a major change and is so much more efficient now. The sign in process is fast. After you sign in, you have a seat and then they call you up as they are ready to process your paperwork. After your paperwork is ready, you have a seat again until the tech calls you for the lab work. Super simple. If you have a standing order, once it is in their system, you can go to any of their Quest locations which is a HUGE improvement. I use to have to get multiple paper copies of my labs from my doctor, if I wanted to have the option to use more than one location. Not any more. AWESOME! If your veins are like mine and harder to find, their techs are more knowledgeable at this location. They are super nice and if you become a frequent visitor, they take the time to remember you. Just remember that they are use to dealing with a large quantity of grumpy, fasting patients so be extra nice. :) read more

They stuck my poor 5 yr old 6 times before finding the vein, my daughter was screaming in pain. The lady held her down so hard that she left bruises on her right arm. On top of that they were so disorganized that they had the needle slip out and she tried to stick my kid again! I said no! That's enough! She was snarky and said if there isn't enough blood then you'll have to do it over again. I called the doctor today and found out that the test couldn't be done because there wasn't enough blood (she filled the whole damn vial) but I received 0 notifications from quest! Ridiculous. Plain ridiculous. These guys should not be allowed to function as a lab. -We're in the middle of a pandemic, and the technician WAS NOT WEARING A MASK!! I had to tell her to wear one when she grumbled and put one on. -She then took 25 minutes to complete just the paperwork. She constantly complained about how slow the computer is, how the printer isn't working, and how my doctor has ordered too many tests (Like what? It's my doctor's fault that they need some tests?). -She constantly called on someone else to help her with the computer. The technician from the next booth was leaving her patient hanging to come help my technician to push some buttons on the computer. -The worst part was that she was COMPLETELY INCOMPETENT in drawing blood. She kept complaining and poked at one too many places with the needle. That has left black spots on my arm. - She then declared that my vein has collapsed and that there are air bubbles in the tube (I'm now beginning to wonder if I'm going to die because of this person's stupidity) - The other technician came again to help and finally got something going. It took about an hour for the whole ordeal to be done. I'm giving this a 1 star rating as opposed to 0 stars only because there was almost no wait time. This place is a threat. Stay away. read more

Large, clean, new location with plenty of drawing rooms, like 10. However, last Ego drew my blood made me super nervous. I hate when the phlebotomist constantly feels around for your vein, the anticipation kills me. Mind you I do not have small veins and the person doing the draws never has a problem finding them. The last time that happened to me was back in college when I got my blood drawn on campus at the health center and the person was learning. Makes me sick to my stomach when this happens which is rare because I do get my blood drawn at least once a month. Not the biz. read more

Yikes! What a disorganzied and grumpy experience from start to finish two times. The website is horribly glitchy. The comfirmation text or email sometimes comes / sometimes does not and even if it does, your appt may not be confirmed when you arrive after fasting and ready for your blood draw at 6;30am. And, if this was not enough to frustrate me the customer service person was rude and grouchy to everyone in the lobby. Wow! I need this service but will be wary of returning to this location as obviously it is poorly managed and for crying out loud, fix your website glitches! read more
