This is the best blood laboratory on the South Shore hands-down yet I see so many individuals complaining. I have been here over six times and I never had a problem or a wait because I arrived in a timely manner. These people are both professional and very polite and will have you out of there within 15 minutes. The problem is with most Staten Island is is that they possess an immigrant mentality and don't show up on a timely matter And always in a hurry.. they open at 7 AM so I get here at 6:40 AM just so I know I'm first and second in line. My wife had complained to a friend about the treatment we received at the Quest location nearest our home. She suggested we try the Amboy Road (Page Ave) location. The difference was like night and day. We were walkins/ I needed the blood work stat and Dasia saw I was on oxygen and took us right away. At last a very capable Medtech with a warm welcoming and engaging personality. If i can give zeros stars i would. NEVER in my life witnessed something so disgusting and pathetic. I had a 3:15 appointment got there at 3:18 door is locked. Knocked on the door a women popped her head out from down the hall looked me in the eyes and walked away and NEVER CAME BACK!!! I attempted to call (no answer) and continued knocking for 15 minutes. You guys are disgusting. You have no idea why I needed this blood work done and this is how you treat people?!! Background info: My veins are awful. (So awful that the doctors had to use a sonogram machine to find one in the ER last year.) I went to the Quest in Tottenville, Staten Island this morning for routine bloodwork. I was taken in by a tech named Myint. She was incredible! She found a vein on the 1st try...which is unheard of in my world! Besides for being a great technician, Myint was so nice and kept me at ease the entire time I was there. How do you run a lab with only one person taking in people and drawing their blood? We were third in line and still took 30 minutes to even get called. That's ridiculous. Quest has the monopoly on this island but really needs to offer better faster services to those that can't sit for 30 minutes waiting. read more

Staff was rude and very short. I waited 20 minutes before someone came out to inform me they wouldn't accept any walk-ins. It was 7:30am and there was legit not 1 patient waiting. My daughter was hit by a tick and when I go online to book an appointment they are fully booked for several weeks so we took our chances walking in and we were denied. read more

What a horrible experience! Horrible employees. Rude, won't answer any questions, dismissive. Let's you wait 2 1/2 hrs in waiting room, as a walk in because I had no choice. Had to get blood drawn out today, was given my script from dr on Thursday. I couldn't wait 1 week for an open appointment. I had no choice to be a walk in. Sat there from 815 am until 1030 am when I just couldn't take it any longer. Even the people who had appointments were backed up. It was absolutely horrible. There were 2 of the phlebotomists who were absolutely rude. When we started asking why and what is taking so long she just told me I needed an appointment. No explanation, no understanding of how long people are waiting in the waiting room for. RUDE, poor customer service skills. I recommend either getting new staff and truly looking into the people who are so rudely running it's. I left, and went to the richmond avenue location. Which also had a wait but so much more organized and flowed so much better. Employees were much more approachable. I will never be back to this locAtion again. Shame on all of you!! Giving it 2 stars because the woman that received us was very nice. Had an appointment with my daughter and went right in. Woman in the room was nowhere near as nice, just an unpleasant disposition. Tried to exchange pleasantries but it seemed she didn't want to be bothered and Barely looked up. To top that, she had to stick my daughter twice. She looked at the first arm and went right in, didn't even give a look to the other arm until she couldn't find a vein. Shouldn't they look at both arms first and then decide what to go for? Especially for a child....So my daughter left bleeding out of two arms. BAD JOB & BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!!!! read more

Quest at Tottenville STINKS. As a walk in, I was prepared for a long wait, NOT THREE HOURS! when i arrived & asked about walk in, he said yes, but there is a wait, entered info for a phone text which said wait was 30 plus minutes. Doable, after an hour, reentered & man acknowledged me & said he knew I was waiting, after second hour, i needed bathroom & asked for urine container (knew urinalysis) which he provided. As other phlebotomist was in the hallway, I asked her about my wait & she stated NO WALK INS as they are short staffed & running late. Of course I blew my top, after waiting 2 1/2 hours they weren't going to draw bloods, I had fasted & not yet taken my meds, I was FAINT. I WASN"T nasty, but the male phlebotomist, was extremely dismissive & rude. The least he could do was tell me the wait was longer than expected & apologize. THREE hours, never again to this facility with only ONE working bathroom. read more

This is the most inefficient lab in Staten island. There is one person registering and taking blood. She is doing all the paperwork and running back and forth. It's sad that she is doing this job all by herself. There is always a line of people. The lab is closed from 12:30pm-1:30pm so this single employee can have a break. I'm sure to be patient and pleasant as possible to move things along. But it's surely unacceptable and aggravating. read more

I've never NOT had an issue at this place. They make you wait forever, they're inefficient, I always get hurt when they do my blood work. This last time I went I waited over 45 minutes and when I got in the room she wouldn't do my blood work because my script was emailed and not printed. In a world where every business, bank, healthcare provider, etc is going paperless, quest refused me because my script was emailed. I asked if I could print it there she says 'we don't have a printer' so I say 'we'll then how do you print the receipts? You have a printer right there attached to your computer' so she replies 'we don't have internet' I then say 'how do you run credit card transactions and log in to the system to send information to doctors?' She goes 'well we just don't do it, you can go to staples and come back' to which I replied 'I have to go to work. I took off time from work because you can never get an appointment in the morning on the website. And if you wanted everything direct why doesn't the website let you upload your script in advance when you make an appointment' she says 'because it needs to be printed' so I finally said 'well then t would seem reasonable that in situations where many doctors send digital scripts that you would provide that service or have it as a disclaimer when making an appointment. I just waited 45 minutes and nobody at any point said anything about it having to be printed' at that point I just left because there was no reasoning with them. It's one thing to not want to help, it's another to blatantly lie about having no printer and no internet, I'm pretty sure quest is not in the Stone Age and they have printers and internet. read more
