His teachings have not just made me physically stronger and have helped me overcome limits that I never knew were possible, but his teachings have also helped me become mentally stronger and overcome obstacles in the real world. He teaches his students respect, discipline, courtesy, integrity, perseverance, self control, and so many other things. The best part is he teaches his students how to translate all of these values, concepts, and characteristics into the real world so that his students, like myself, can grow to be strong and intellectual leaders. He encourages his students to be humble, work hard, and pursue their passions. He is capable of helping even the youngest of kids. Master Catalan also uses psychology to help students progress in their athletic and mental performance. With his guidance and your commitment, he can also help in molding you to become a competitive taekwondo athlete in both sparring (combat) and poomsae (forms). Most taekwondo coaches specialize in one thing, but he is extremely skilled and experienced in both core areas of taekwondo. Foot work techniques and drills are essential to taekwondo and Coach Catalan is always coming up with new and creative ways to help me and other students improve foot work. His classes are very unique and never repetitive unlike many other taekwondo programs and classes. He always encourages his students to have fun versus applying hardcore pressure and force, so students react very well to this method. He also doesn't do contracts unlike most taekwondo schools and has great pricing. Another distinction is his equipment is constantly replaced, does constant renovations, and he is extremely hygienic. Grandmaster Bonaparte knew about this, but did not make plans for a replacement instructor. My son was supposed to continue with a class since his instructor had left. We waited for Grandmaster to follow up with us. When he finally did he said my son could not be in the class and he said he had no one available to give him private lessons.
