We went today for a late lunch, totally enjoyed our food. I had the Classic Club with sweet potato fries, so yummy and my husband had the French dip with regular fries, he throughly enjoyed it as well. Our server Jody was excellent, friendly, attentive. Love the bar area and big TVs, wish they were open later for some of the paid per view sports like MMA. We will definitely be back and you will now become our place as our other place had to close. I have been there twice now and both times the food was horrible. the first time my chicken wings were pink on the inside so I didn't eat them and today I ordered the French toast special and there's more egg on the bread then bread and I'm pretty sure you're not supposed to have it like that. disappointing read more

My mates and I decided to check out this recent addition to the South Oshawa neighbourhood, and we were thrilled with our experience. Our server, Jessie (spelling?) was fantastic and accommodating of our every need. We're hardcore coffee drinkers and found the first batch of coffee they brought us to be watery. Jessie, however, went out of her way to make it double strong for us, and made sure the other servers knew how we liked it. The menu has a huge selection of food! Since we went there in the morning, we were given their breakfast / brunch menu. The food we ordered was great. The meats were a little on the salty side, but the food was well-presented, and the portions were decent for the price. We checked out their dinner menu and found there to be a huge selection of food. They have salads, burgers, steaks, fish and chips, Greek food, chicken wings and ribs, to name just a few. There was even some butter chicken on the menu. We'll have to go back to try their dinner menu items, but there seems to be something for everyone. I'm sooo impressed to have a really good restaurant in South Oshawa! This place is owned by the same people who own Mr. A's and the Portly Piper so you know it's going to be good quality food! The ambiance is very nice. Tons of booths, nice bar and decor. I had the Gyros dinner and my husband had chicken fettucini alfredo. Both were delicious! The Greek salad dressing is amazing! I'm looking forward to trying out breakfast here sometime soon. Service was awesome and fast, especially considering this is a brand new restaurant. Highly recommended! I was so caught up with the good food and big screen t.v.s that I forgot to take a picture. FOOD: I had an order of the fried calamari to start. It was crispy on the out and real tender inside. The crispiness of the breading really compliments the taste of the squid. My main was the philly cheese melt sandwich. It also came with a side of sweet potato fries. The fries were absolutely delicious...again crispy and flavourful. The sandwich...was hands down delicious. Every ingredient complimented the next. Perfectly built sandwich. AMBIANCE: Very typical sports bar themed restaurant. Great for big sports events. There are many big screen t.v.s around the restaurant so you'll be able to catch the game or fight wherever you sit! Now the washrooms were also the BEST washrooms I have ever seen when it comes to a sports bar. Extremely sanitary. There are automatic lights that turn on when you enter and it feels like a completely different world. SERVICE: Excellent service. I was immediately greeted and seated by the manager upon entering the store. The manager (Keeth) took care of my friend and I. Venue was nice and clean, service was quick, presentation was good. Got 2 banquet platters, one with poutine the other with onion rings. Price was good for the quality and amount of food we got Burgers were excellent and flavorful, fries were a little dry, too little gravy, cheese curds were put on after gravy so they were cold, onion rings were overcooked but I personally like mine crunchy so they were excellent. Feel the venue could draw in much more service if there was more promotional advertisting, eg; special events, theme nights, big sports games. Would definitely go back again read more

I've heard nothing but good things about the new Quick Flame. Its beautiful. Unfortunately the places ambiance ends there. Sunset and hostess attempts to seat us at the brightest table with sun directly in our eyes. 3/4 of the restaurant is empty- why put the few patrons all crammed in the same area? TVs- at least 5 of them. Huge. All playing news. No music. Waitress seemed scattered. Ordered my favourite meal anywhere- Cobb Salad. The Cobb salad is a main-dish American garden salad typically made with chopped salad greens (iceberg lettuce, watercress, endives and romaine lettuce), tomato, crisp bacon, boiled, grilled or roasted (but not fried) chicken breast, hard-boiled eggs, avocado, chives, Roquefort cheese, and red-wine vinaigrette. I opted for no avacado (allergy) and no red peppers( not part of salad normally). Salad comes out. Its iceberg lettuce- dry cucumbers(cut at least 12 hours earlier and not stored properly. Julienned tomatoe skins, about 2 ounces of really cheap and slightly stale( not creamy- more crunchy) blue cheese and a beautifully grilled chicken breast although terribly over seasoned. And then the egg... I don't know what possessed me to take a bite, it was dehydrated( boiled at least a week ago), and black around the yoke, its no wonder they were served with whites faced up. Bacon was neither her nor there- but this salad was served in a bowl all mixed together instad of plated properly. After explaining to the waitress what was wrong with it the owner took $3 off the $15 salad. Maybe its a problem with Durham restaurants not paying their kitchen staff enough, or trying to get a grasp on a HUGE menu, but there was no care used to make my meal. Salads are my way of testing a restaurant. If they can't produce a crisp beautiful colourful salad with properly cleaned and fresh produce- they arent going to make anything else I'd want to eat. I wasn't out for a free meal- i really just wanted that salad. I'll stick to Stuttering John's or Teddy's, next time. read more

We absolutely enjoy coming here to eat. The staff and managers are super friendly. I love the vibe and ambience. It's about time South Oshawa had something good like this here! They had daily specials and the menu has many options to pick from. Really reasonable price. Back location for private parties. Definitely need to check this place out in Shaw read more

Restaurant looks modern and clean. Didn't dine in but had take out and there was a nice area for dining in if you have family but still had a nice bar feel with the counter. the man that answered the phone for my inquiries was patient and kind. I ended up ordering in and he was even nicer in person. Food came out fresh - I know because it was nice and hot. Provided condiments and extra sauce for my salad. Quantity of food was good for the price I paid. Overall, very happy and would eat there again. read more

Quick Flame was a great experience. The food was good. I had the chicken souvlaki plate. Was cooked and done well. Apple pie was good too. What I really enjoyed about this place was the service and atmosphere. Our server was very nice and helpful. And she and others made a sick playlist. I recommend this restaurant for sure. read more

I'm only giving 1 star because you can give 0 and honestly the food is good but the service I just received (actually that I'm still waiting to receive) is horrendous! We called and placed an order for delivery 75 minutes ago. We were told the delivery drivers were busy and it would be about 45 minutes. Got a call 20 minutes later saying another half hour (so we're at 50). After an hour I called them back to see if my food had left yet. The girl said yes before even asking my name. Then she calls me right back and says "sorry, I lied. It's just being cooked now" so I got a bit upset and she got me a manager. This guy would not even let me talk. He literally started talking again everytime I started to say something. So I made him aware of that and he let me talk but refused to give any sort of discount. Then he told me that my food hadn't even been started yet even though his employee had just told me it was. Then he changed his mind and said that it is being cooked, that he had just asked the cook to do it. Now it's almost 9pm and I ordered at 7:27 and still no food. read more

Got the poutine on the recommendation of a friend, I'm not sure how long ago it's been since he's ordered here but it tasted like they used frozen fries, they weren't even cooked all the way through and the food wasn't even warm. The only good thing about it was the gravy was half decent and they used real cheese curds but that being said it still was not easy to eat. I didn't want to insult them by not eating any of my food but honestly what I should have done was just turn around and walk out, total waste of money. On top of that I gave the waitress a 5 dollar tip which was almost the price of the food itself for basically doing nothing and she didn't even so much as say thank you, she was just like "well, see you around okay". Do yourself a favor and don't eat here. Very disappointed. read more
