I have Berber carpets which were in good condition but had a lot of staining and they were able to resolve all of my problems. Interestingly enough they do NOT move furniture, but they told me that ahead of time and I had plenty of advance notice to move things out of the way which enabled them to get to all the corners of every room. They create some of the most beautiful and unique custom tile-work in the world. 2. I own a salon in NE Minneapolis, which is located down the street from the Mercury Mosaic workshop. Not only are they local (which I love), they are run by the incredible Mercedes. As a female business owner myself, I love supporting other inspiring women-run businesses! I have followed MM on social media for a bit now, and have admired them from afar. I recently expanded my salon, and knew I wanted every aspect of my new space to have a story. Being a small business owner, you often have to prioritize function over esthetic. It was important for me to create a beautiful environment for my team, and our incredible clients, so I reached of to Mercury Mosaics via Instagram and asked if they had any broken tiles, or "remnants" that they would be willing to sell me. I was hoping to create a backsplash for my backbar area, and was planning to do it on my own (now that I understand the intricate process of tile installation, I realize what a ridiculous idea that was...), Not only did they respond, but Mercedes reached out and said she knew of my salon, and had a "crazy" idea. She wanted to help us design, create and install a custom "Steller" mosaic. MM also connected us with local artist, Josie Lewis. Josie's artwork is what inspired my designer and myself when it came to color scheme for this incredible mosaic. Josie is now a Steller client, and we are forever a Josie fan! The gift that Mercury Mosaics gave Steller Hair surpasses any expectation I could ever have had.  This mosaic is a visual representation of community, support and the beauty of connection.  We can't ever repay these incredible people (and I'm a competitive gift giver, so that is very difficult for me..) but what we can do is use this mosaic to share a story of kindness in an often times unkind world.  This mosaic creates an atmosphere and experience for our clients that reflects our mission and values Mercury Mosaics is so much more than a tile company. We discussed and agreed to the project schedule and expectations. What transpired was a serious lack of transparency and management. We were taken advantage of including paying for work that was never done and were told it was, hurried work that required rework multiple times, schedule slippage by multiple weeks causing us to incur additional costs and rescheduling subsequent contractors. John discussed making things right, however we were well past the point of allowing for this to continue and paid for a different contractor to finish the remaining rework. Josh was our salesperson, and was tireless, knowledgeable, and patient in working out different options and educating us about the pros and cons. We did some comparison shopping. BCO's good pricing, their responsiveness and promptness, and them doing their own work (not subcontracting) were compelling, so we went with them. After we ordered the work, BCO was able to put the job on schedule within days. The BCO installers accidentally installed the vinyl plank in the wrong area. This error also led to some other issues. When BCO realized this, it immediately acknowledged its error and responsibility, and worked to correct as soon as it could. The BCO installers were back the next day to start addressing the issues, and Eric and another employee even visited the job after their workdays, just to evaluate and determine solutions. Matt (general manager) got involved at the end to make sure that we were satisfied with the resolution. (We were!) However careful a company is, some type of error will happen sometime to that company - that's a fact of life. How the company - and the people at the company - respond sets the great ones apart. And Bloomington Carpet One, through its actions and the actions of its employees, clearly distinguishes itself as a great company!

We strongly discourage future consumers from doing any business with Tile by Design. We're sharing…read moreour experience so that other consumers do not find themselves being taken advantage in the way that we have been. Tile by Design does not disclose either in writing, verbally, or on their website if specific tile is special order/non-refundable. When we placed the order for our tile, we specifically asked if the 10% overage in square footage was returnable. A Tile by Design employee told us that it was in fact returnable. Additionally, none of the paperwork we receive, including the receipt, said that the tile was special order/non-refundable. After receiving the tile, we discovered that it was full of scratches, divots, pin holes, air bubbles, and chipped edges. When attempting to return the tile, they would not accept. They told us the only way we could return the tile was if we paid for a shipping and restocking fee, which resulted in 40% of the overall purchase. We even offered to share the return costs by suggesting 20% each and they refused. Their lack of integrity for both the quality of their product and treatment of their customers is unacceptable. We encourage all consumers to take your business elsewhere.
