I came home this afternoon, and my rear slider would not open. I finally got it open and called Nathan Amit of Quick Key. I had all my locks redone in 2017 and the service then was incredible, so why not call him again. I called Nathan right away and he was able to come to my home within 30 minutes. He happened to be near my home, so he was able to accommodate me asap. He replaced the very old slider lock. It works perfect now. His charges were very reasonable. Wow!! I called on a Saturday and he was able to come out Monday morning to re-key our new house. Now I see why he has only 5-star reviews up the wazoo for both his WC and SR locations. He recommended upgrading our front door lock to a grade 2 lock, since the existing one was cheap, even though technically he'd make more $ re-keying the cheap old one (less the actual cost of the better quality lock). He even took the time to show me the differences in quality of the inside of the locks. Also, he did everything within an hour. I asked him how he got into the locksmith business and he said he learned how to bust locks in the Israeli military. I had an emergency situation and needed my locks changed the same day. I went with the first company to respond, and I don't regret it one bit. My installer, Evan, was so professional and fast that I thought perhaps his real name was Houdini. I love this guy. And unlike other locksmiths, he checked his worked to make certain everything functioned as it should. Evan was also sensitive to a very emotional situation. He showed compassion while, at the same time, maintained appropriate boundaries and got the job done as quickly and professionally as he could. A real mensch. We had a double front door that was not securely locked, but was somewhat beyond repair. Ethan came and saw our situation and ordered a new set of hardware for the doors, which we really needed. He didn't take any money for that visit since he said he would just get it after he was done. Today, he returned, on time, took off the old hardware and put the new set on, and it looks really attractive, in addition to being a really secure lock on the doors. I bought a new key pad lock for my front door and had my dad try to install it, but it turned out to be too complicated for him. Then he couldn't get the original lock back in the door so my home was insecure. It was already late afternoon and I needed someone that day. I called Ethan and he said he'd come and fix my door at the end of his day. When he arrived he explained that I needed an additional part and showed me what to order before the new lock could be installed, and in the meantime he put the original lock back in place and refused to accept payment until I received the new part I needed for a future appointment. When he came for the follow up appointment he showed up on time and completed the install easily and then spent time showing me how to program my new lock and how to change the battery too.
