Avi came and identified the issue - while we could just replace the belt, the unit was old so we decided to replace the whole thing. At the same time, Avi identified the springs were not installed correctly (too many turns or something) which causes the door to drop / fly up when the latch was not on. He offered to replace the springs too. I just replaced the spring with another company last year so I was surprised to learn they were not installed correctly.
