I thought I would get a second opinion and called Precision Garage Door because they have replaced my door in the past and helped me with an older garage door system. Carlos Jordan came out and in five minutes fixed my problem. I stood there shocked. I was preparing myself for him to try to sell me a new system or tell me that I needed hundreds of dollars worth of repairs. He was incredibly professional and knowledgeable. DGD installed my original double garage door (hurricane reinforced) and extra tall in 2022 during…read morethe construction of my home. I did not have a choice as to the vendor the builder used so they used DGD. From the name, you would think that their prices are reasonable. Guess again. Exactly 14 months after the installation, I have had service twice to re-tighten the springs. Thankfully that was under warranty. And now that the warranty has expired, the track pins were sliding off and one side of the garage door was not completely closing by almost 12 inches. Service tech arrives and immediately provides two quotes. 1- just repair the imbalance for about $250 or 2- replace the track pins that were too short to begin with yet they installed them anyway knowing that they would need to be replaced at a later time. The cost to replace the pins and balance the door was $420. That price is absurd for a garage door that is just 1 year old! Then they offered a 30 year warranty for another $300 to cover basically the same things in the initial one year warranty. This company is like piranhas .. they sell you things that they know will need repairs so they have an opportunity to upsell you for quality materials that should have been part of the original installation. Next time I will look to a different service provider when it needs another adjustment or repair. I'm sure it will be cheaper without sneaky upselling techniques.
