***UPDATE*** Under new ownership (it's actually been for much of the past year or so...) The store is less cluttered and the craft beer selection is EXCELLENT! Still has many of the same goodies as before, just no Steve walking around in his socks handing out, "Thank you for supporting small business" compliments. My only complaint (and not the owner's issue) are the losers, goofballs and mentally deranged that visit the store regularly and ruin the vibe by standing there impatiently while I'm paying and preparing to run some sort of grift, scam or other unsavory act. 4.75 stars for great new owners and a nice little convenience (liquor) store. read more

Merry Christmas 2019. The store was open and business was slow as no one was out shopping on this holiday night. I had a winning $30 lottery scratcher ticket and I came in to exchange it for more scratcher tickets. The cashier was very friendly and engaging and was offering me different products. I gave in and bought a Manhattan Beach ice cream sandwich which was delicious even on this cold rainy night. read more

This is my favorite place to buy my Lottery and Lotto tickets. I've not won any jackpots yet, but I'm long overdue... The ownership is so friendly and gracious, you almost want to win not only for yourself but for them (as stores share in the winning revenues from tickets purchased from their store). They always throw in a "Good Luck" wish after you buy your tickets. This business is a role model to how a local business should be run within a neighborhood community in the way the owners and all employees conduct themselves so welcoming and nice to customers. It's a convenience store, so it's hard to want to comparison shop based on price. Based on customer service and personality, this beats most placed I've been to. This is one of those stores where if not enough people support it and if it were ever to be forced by economics to close down, we as a community can take part of the blame, and there'd be a lot of sadness for the void such a business would leave in what makes a place like Redondo Beach so quaint, with a good blend of small businesses and not just all big chain retailers. I sense this is a family run business, and they embrace every customer as if they were a part of their family. It looks like they have a very robust wine selection here, so for all you oenophiles (that's Greek for "Wine Lovers!") check this place out. Parking is easy, and if you're ever looking to get a copy of "The LA Weekly" (comes out every Thursday) they have that Free newspaper rack here. I'm a good Neighbor but not a good customer, well I used to be a good neighbor... The wife and I used to stop in occasionally when we were next door at the Emerald Garden Restaurant for dinner to pick up some lottery tickets or when the wife wanted to buy some lottery tickets, The last time I was in, the owner said I was a good neighbor but not a good customer because I only bought lottery tickets, Well, I don't need anything else you have in your store and your prices are higher than the market, which I can understand but you need to value your customers no matter how much you spend, but I didn't say anything or write a review until my wife got the same treatment, Well we are no longer good neighbors, because we will no longer patronize this store. If the owner ever reads this, you need to understand that not everyone goes to the quick stop to fill their fridges or their bars, they are called convenience stores for a reason, it was convenient for me to buy lottery tickets at your store, but not convenient to by anything else, so what if I only spend $4.00 or $5.00 dollars a visit, there might have been a time when I needed something else, but not any more. Do you know how you can tell that this is an awesome liquor store?? I took the time to write a freakin Yelp review.....on a liquor store! This place looks average from the outside, but I consistently have an awesome experience whenever I go to this place. The owner is always polite and welcoming when I come in. Usually, I am looking for some beer or a quick dessert. They have a great beer selection and the owner is quick to tell you any new additions and make recommendations if you need. They also stock ice cream sandwiches from the Manhattan Beach Creamery which is pretty cool. Aside from that, the place has everything you would want and the owner certainly takes pride in what he does. Highly recommend, even if its a slightly longer drive. read more

I usually come here for quick drinks and maybe snacks when kids and/or I are doing laundry in the same strip mall. The owner is always very gracious that we made the effort to come in and supported his business. Tonight I went to the back corner of the store to check out the wine selection. The owner went out of his way (with a customer waiting) to bring me a carnation flower (for his wine shoppers) and to share info on how the shelves are categorized, to offer to order something if we are looking for it (forgot to look for Honig) and also to share info on some international wines and blends. It's true that the bottle may be offered at slightly above suggested price but to me sometimes you pay for service and TLC which was totally worth it. Love this little local family owned liquor store. Steve, the owner operates it with his son and mother and are all very polite and helpful. Steve is very knowledgable on all the wines and craft beers they carry. Whenever I go with my wife and son he always gives a little chocolate or treat Ronny son and a rose to my wife. Can't say anything bad about him. The store itself carries alcohol, some random house essentials (milk, eggs, cheese, cereal, fruit, cleaning products, kind of like a 7-11 without the prepared foods. They do carry Manhattan beach creamery ice cream pints and sandwiches which is awesome. Skip 7-11, Nicks, and the other liquor/quick stop stores and support this one. My first time in Southern California I wasn't feeling too hot about the day so I stopped in for some wine. Not only did Steven give me the best recommendation for wine but also suggested a bottle from Train called Drops of Jupiter which was delicious. He also cheered me up upon greeting me. Stopped in to see if they carried Don Valente tequila. They didn't, but the owner definitely knew his stuff! He knew which region Don Valente was from and was able to recommend another tequila from the same region. He offered us a free frozen yogurt for our "trouble", but we declined. Wasn't a big deal at all. With service like that, we'll be back for any liquor purchase when we're in Redondo! My best friend lives just a couple blocks over from here and he has become our weekly LATE NIGHT delivery service. The owner Steve comes and delivers himself. Very cool little store located in a small little strip mall right off of Artesia Blvd in Redondo Beach. When I used to live in the area I would stop by the Quick Stop from time to time when doing laundry only a couple doors down the way. The elder gentleman who runs this store is so nice, helpful and kind. I once came in here in desperate need of breaking a $100 dollar bill and he was more than happy to do it for me without making a purchase. The store itself is clean, neat and has a vast selection of wine, craft / microbrew beer & spirits. I am not a drinker but if you are there is no question you will find what you are looking for at this establishment. This store is one of my 'go to' locations for playing the lottery. I would be stoked to win and afford this little shop the ability to retire early on the percentage the store gets to keep when I hit it big. I do my best to support local businesses and this is without question one of them. I would much rather my money goes to keep the lights on for a Mom/Pop operation than a big box store. Redondo Beach & the Artesia corridor are seeing a upswing so if you happen to be in the area stop by a do a little shopping while helping as stated above a local business succeed. The Quick Stop has dedicated parking spaces directly in front of their business. If those spots are taken this store shares its parking lot with a coffee house, several stores, a pizza place & a Laundromat so plenty of parking is always available. read more

Stopped in for a quick beer grab. Here's how I did... These guys have a decent craft beer selection. Steve is also very knowledgable and a great salesman. One of my favorites is the Clown Shoes Tramp Stamp. Also, no limit when they get Stone's Enjoy By. Too bad when I got there yesterday, they only had 1 left. Oh well, I nabbed it. They also have a great wine selection. Give them a call and they'll even deliver the beer. I've used this service twice now when the wife and I needed just a couple more drinks. Will I again? We were having lunch down the street at Bluefish Grill (excellent, but the way) and we had to pick up a nice wine for our next day's host in Newport Beach. We were hoping to be able to make the purchase before we got back on the crazy busy traffic on the 405 to head for our hotel. Yelp came to the rescue! I believe Steve's parents are the ones who own the place but he has made it what it is. Probably the best selection of micro-brews and imported beers in the South Bay area (for a small liquor store). An abundant selection of wine, soda, and other beverages. He also serves the smoker too if you know what I mean. I never used the delivery service but it's popular and he's out often. If this sign "back in 5 minutes" is up come back in 10. He's a friendly guy and shows all customers humility and helpfulness. A must use for anyone in North Redondo and I'm sure most do already. He had three options and a quick assessment of each. I picked a 2012 Dry Creek Cabernet. I knew it would be good, but I had to wait to see if others would agree and tell me price point was reasonable too. Yes on both counts. Extrodinarily disappointed about the deceptive business practices and lack of commitment to the customer experience at this establishment. I went in to purchase a particular beer but they didn't have it. On my way out the owner Steve asked me what I was looking for and made an intelligent sounding recommendation for substitution. I said no thanks because the beer I was seeking is offered virtually everywhere else. He says look, try it this one, you'll love it and if you don't I will refund your entire purchase price... Just bring back the unused portion. Im not always in that area so the next time I was (10 days later) I went to return the beer. A tandem of folks (not Steve) declined my refund stating it had been purchased too long ago to return. I argued no such terms were stated either verbally or on my receipt but to no avail. I calmly requested for them to take down my number and have the owner/operator return my call. They flat out said NO!...YOU need to call him. This is all over a $10 purchase. So, I'll make sure to follow up with the owner later on and if the terms that HE initiated are not honored I will make sure to not continue business with this establishment in the future. read more
