There were just a few folks in line around noon on a weekday, although I feared a long line out the door based on some of the more hysterical reviews. Many of the pastries had clearly been picked over by lunchtime but they still had what I wanted to try, in particular, the kouign-amann and the almond croissant. I also ordered an everything bagel and a salted chocolate chip cookie. The cookie was outrageously good. You must get this. I am not the world's biggest everything bagel fan but if there was a contest for everything bagels, this one would win. It is literally covered with everything that makes an everything bagel an everything bagel. You can probably smell this bagel a mile away; the scent is that strong. It was delicious, too. The almond croissant was flaky and flavorful. Although I am a huge kouign-amann fan, this one was a little dry. (Remember, it is pronounced "queen ah-mahn.") It's not that hard. My cold brew was on the smaller side and was just fine. The bread and pastries here are beautiful. I would definitely return to try more of their goods. i got the al fresco on a sesame bagel (half). The tomato on this bagel was SO GOOD! It was thick and so juicy. The bagel is pretty packed with toppings and the bagle iteself was soft and delicious! When I was excitedly debating what to order while we were still in line, my partner told me he's literally never seen me so happy before in my life, and that should tell you a lot about how much I love Tommy and Atticus. I first came here about 3 years ago to grab bagels and cookies with some friends - the bagels are reminiscent of some of the best I've had in NYC. You gotta get it as The Works, the tomato dill combo and house cured salmon are unbeatable. I've also gotten a loaf of cheddar jalapeño sourdough, note that there's a small slicing fee if you want them to cut it for ya. Onto the stars of the show, the laminated pastries. They're buttery, crispy, fantastic blends of flavors, and I ascend to some higher plane of existence when I eat em. I briefly lost my mind when I ordered, and got myself the enormous cinnamon rolls (literally the size of my face), an allium savory square (garlic confit AND caramelized onions?? sign me up for another), the plum fruit tart (custard is perfect), and the strawberry matcha croissant (mmm roasted strawberries and strong matcha flavor in the buttercream). Pastries, bread and coffee...a few of my favorite things all in one place! This place has been on my "to-go" list for months and I finally got to visit. It did not disappoint! The parking is ample, the indoor and outdoor seating plentiful. I got there 5 mins before opening on a Friday morning and there was already a line out the door. The service was quick; when you enter, you can see the pastries/bread and a person takes your order. You pay and at the end of the counter. There is a coffee bar (where you grab your coffee if you ordered), and take a seat (should you have ordered some of their bagels/breakfast/sandwich items and wanted to dine in. The customer service was not only quick but I appreciated the local/family owned bakery vibe. I wanted to order/try everything but for my first trip, stuck to a few pastry items. All of them were delicious but the stand outs were the blueberry scone, jalapeño cheese croissant and seeded loaf. It was nice that they sliced the loaf for you. The coffee (ordered a latte), was okay. In addition to the breakfast bagel options, to my understanding, they have sandwiches here(served 10:30-1:30p) and also pizza (after 1:30p). Boring stuff: easy parking, cashless, easy to access entrance The actual review: Came here for the first time in search of a country loaf. Country load was acquired but I was distracted by everything else. The place is very clean and an easy space to bring friends. They have board games if you guys plan to stay and hang, and their staff is really friendly. We got their sandwich of the week. Their mortadella can def use more pistachios so i hope one day they get better mortadella for the price they charge (lol). We also got their banana fosters croissant, and jalapeno popper croissant. We stop in every time we are in town! They are amazing! Five stars for the food, the service, the people, the other folks in line, it was just so much fun all the way around. I'm so glad that I finally got to check this place out. Don't be intimated by the line, it goes by quick and is so worth it. For my transaction of 2 drinks and 2 pastries, it was $24, which is a fair price for fresh baked goods. The matcha comes unsweetened, but you can request it to be added or ask for it to add yourself. Ok, here's a hot tip: Tommy & Atticus has the most wonderful pizza. You have to get there after 1:30. There are several varieties. You never know but they will always be constructed with their amazing sourdough crust. The toppings will be first rate too. I'm reasonably sure I could just drink the sauce by itself. But don't tell anyone I told you. P.S.: They close at 3:00 so don't miss it. I should also mention that they also bake amazing bread and pastries. The scones are unbelievable (especially the blueberry ones). The croissants are so buttery and flaky. There are regular sandwiches on a weekly basis (check for the meat or veggie choices). They also make bagels and bagel sandwiches. And the whole places smells of bread. Ahhhhhh! Is there anything else so wonderful. Oftentimes there's a line, especially at peak times. Owner Garrett McPerry used to work at Gjusta in 2019 and put 100% of his attention to Tommy and Atticus in 2020. This location is the brick-and-mortar location, but customers will find the bakery at different farmers' markets - Brentwood on Sunday, Larchmont on Wednesday, and Hermosa on Friday. [Parking]: The parking lot within the strip mall is big enough. I didn't have an issue finding a parking spot at 8:30 AM on Saturday. [Atmosphere]: Our party came here and there was already a waiting line. Luckily the wait was only 5 minutes at 8:30 AM on Saturday. Our party came here another time on Sunday and the waiting time was longer (appromxately 15 minutes). There are indoor tables to sit with no outdoor patio area. [Service]: Customers order sandwiches and drinks at the cashier counter. Food came out relatively quickly, but drinks took a little bit too long to prepare (15+ minutes). Yum! Came on a Saturday morning and waited around 20 minutes in line. Got an almond croissant and 'the works' bagel sandwich (full size). Croissant was perfection: flaky and not too sweet. Seriously the best baked goods! Our local friends brought us here when we visited for the weekend...every Saturday should start with this! The line was out the door but it went fast. There were tons of goodies to choose from. Don't look at the prices, it's all worth it. My fave was easily the ham and cheese and almond croissants. Food: For my September 21st 2025 visit I got a loaf of Rosemary Garlic Country, Almond Croissants, daily sandwich, and a latte. The Rosemary Garlic Country loaf bread was great with large garlic chunks mixed into the dough to make an amazing bread. The latte was well made with a very ornate foam design. The almond croissant was sweet and layered with flavor. This is truly one of my top ten favorite bakeries in life. Service: Great, fast, efficient service from staff and I really appreciate the foam design extra touch on my latte. I was really looking forward to this place but was a bit disappointed with my visit. For one, all the sandwiches were pre made and just sitting on the trays and you can definitely tell it was there all morning. I wouldn't mind if this was the case on a weekend where lines are super busy but I went on a Wednesday at lunch and there was zero line. I got the ham and butter baguette and you can just tell it's a sandwich that wasn't fresh. I also bought a loaf of the jalapeño cheddar sourdough and flavor wise, it was good but I had issues with the cheese aspect. I would have loved to get my sourdough sliced but they said they would charge me a fee for getting it sliced. I find this pretty absurd that this place is charging to slice your bread you bought from them when they have a machine that does it... So when I got home and sliced it myself, the cheese crust constantly came off the top of the bread and the cheddar in the bread were cubed so they weren't melted into the bread and kept falling out of the loaves which was just an annoyance every time I'm trying to slice and eat. I stopped by on a Saturday, the line was to the door so not so bad. I heard good things about their sourdough so I got that which was decent, good but not the best I've had. But I also got a monkey bread croissant loaf, which was...disappointing to say the least. It was so dry that I feel like it's probably more the 1 day old and I wish they would have told me when I ordered, the monkey bread croissant loaf was so dry that I couldn't really eat it which was such waste of money. First time to try this visiting my son. His co worker brought a bagel sandwich and told him it's a must try. We got a country style sourdough bread-(amazing) taste. We got the bacon/egg bagel and the Works bagel with lox, veggies/cream cheese. It was sooo good. We got lucky when we come at 930 am Saturday and there was 6 people ahead of us. I love Tommy & Atticus. I get their seed bread regularly which happens to be gluten free. We also get their kouign aman, chocolate chip cookie and brownie regularly. Their sourdough is also great and I love that they have a slicer so you can have them slice it (for $0.50 cents) and make sandwiches (in my husband's case, grilled cheese) out of it. It is soooo busy here during weekday mornings, I think everyone stops by after dropping off their kids at school. Small space, very friendly and patient staff. I got a coffee and it was okay. Also got a an everything bagel and an egg/bacon bagel and it almost tasted a little too burnt .. had half of both and I was soooo stuffed, could t eat anything for the rest of the day. This place is local bakery gem for all your bread needs. I've tried their breads and they're all great and worth taking home as it's freshly made. I love their baguettes and other special breads. Their cookies and pastries are also very good. They've expanded their menu as far as brjnfj goes and I got the classic bagel with lox. It was kinda fishy which I was disappointed but I want to go back and try their breakfast bagel sandwich. The coffee is ok. The lines are super long given the popularity so I suggest you go earlier or off times. The baked goods here are... DIVINE. That orange zest morning bun??? Mama, I'm obsessed. Sign me up Monday to Friday. The bagel with the cream cheese and toamto was solid, and not bad for being a California bagel. But honestly, run, don't walk here, to check out all their pastries. I came on my most recent trip to SoCal and coming from NYC where I think we have some of the best pastries around, this spot definitely holds its own against them and continues to keep the competition stiff. Tommy and Atticus is a bakery in Redondo Beach that serves fresh-baked breads and pastries. The highlight of my order was their "the works" Bagel Sandwich on an "everything bagel". The bagel sandwich is perfectly balanced as you get chew from the bagel, salinity from the capers, freshness from the heirloom tomatoes, dill, cucumber, and lemon zest, savoriness from the lox, and a little bit of a crisp and tang from the raw, red onion. I'd come back here for another one of these and this is a five-star dish (but I may need to bring my own utensils to eat this without making a mess). We enjoyed several of their scones and pastries and I thought that they were pretty good. Their kouign amann croissant is buttery, flaky, and impossibly crispy, almost reminding me of a sweet, buttery Palmier/"elephant ear". Their strawberry-vanilla custard fruit tart was served on a laminated dough and had nice punches of strawberry flavor. Their seasonal peach scone had nice texture and was great with our lattes.
