Shortly after, Michael called me and we talked about my party and what I was looking for. I saw on the site, they also offer Photobooths so I asked if it was possible to make a slight change to the photobooth and personalize it a bit for my party and sure enough, they were able to accommodate! I booked a DeeJay and Photobooth package. I got directed to their client login site (awesome) and I was able to include music, change and edit the timeline and add special requests of music. That client site made it so easy to plan my party the way I wanted it to be. DJ Cali was my DJ, she showed up looking gorgeous for my fancy birthday and she was ready to hype up the party as needed. All the music I had asked for were played and during our special dance...the Dancing on Clouds added such an emotional touch to our heartfelt song. It was BEYOND BEAUTIFUL! Professional, Communicative, Efficient and Wonderful would be the best words to describe what you are paying for when You decide to book them for an event. It was my DJ (Dustin at West Coast Flawless DJs) that recommended her, and I'm so glad he did! From the moment I met her, I knew that she would be critical at my wedding. She also met with my fiance and me closer to the day to discuss all the details (also being a DIY bride, I had a million ideas and decoration plans since I also didn't hire a florist and made all the centerpieces). My wedding was a little ummm unique... in that I actually had two wedding receptions on the same day (a lunch for family and a dinner for friends) so I really needed help with timing and coordination for the day. Mandy came to the rescue and went from reception to reception setting up and getting the timing down. We had some issues at my lunch venue with delays in the food prep so it was great to have Mandy following up with the restaurant (and she didn't even get a lunch since they were so behind that she had to leave to set up for dinner). I got a little overwhelmed but my planner finally sent me Prism DJ's (I wanted a strong women vendor team) and I landed on Tessa's profile, who fit what we wanted to a tee! Tessa was responsive and easily accessible. She had kept in touch with us throughout our 2 year planning process (due to COVID postponement.) When the time finally approached, we had multiple communications with what music and vibe we wanted to have. We had a more unique first dance request and Tessa mixed it and pulled that off perfectly during reception. She talked just enough without talking too much. The appt time was to be fully set up by 6:30pm that day and so, needless to say, I was not able to replace her and hire another company that quickly. What had happened was her car broke down and so she wasn't able to cater my event? But here's the thing... after tip and everything, she was going to be making over $1,000. And most of that is labor and service. It's not supplies. So most of that is all profit for her time. At least $500 of it after tip. So it just blows my mind how she couldn't even rent a U-Haul truck or something to get it done! If this is your business, wouldn't it be a good idea to have a backup plan in case your car ever breaks down? I mean, if this is your line of work and you are 100% dependent on your car, then it would only be common sense and Business 101 too have a backup plan in place should your car ever break down. And even then, it's not too hard to pick up the phone and call U-Haul so that you can go through with a booking!!! The problem I mostly had with her is that she treated the cancelation so lightly as if my anniversary was not that big of a deal. When she called me to cancel, she told me "at least I am telling you right now this early in the day" as if booking another company to do the same thing was possible. Meanwhile, I was already at the beach (because my wife and I were spending the night so we have all of our camping gear there) and she is trying to tell me that if I drive out to a beach in LA, that she can probably help me out. Are you kidding me??? RENT A TRUCK! RENT A TRUCK! RENT A TRUCK! This is what you should have done. And me being already planted at the beach with all my stuff meant I couldn't exactly pick up and go do something else. So yeah, I tried to scramble and do something but all I could do in that situation was go our to Fisherman's Restaurant for dinner and that's what we did. But that is sooooo basic! I had a whole romantic picnic planned! I feel like this girl (who goes by Jenny but her real name is Herminia Galvez) ruined the level of wow-factor I had planned for my anniversary! And then like I said, to top it off, to play it off like it was no big deal because you're telling me 8 hours before the scheduled event, that it's no big deal! Just wow!! Couldn't believe it! And then there is the whole communication thing. I had shipped some stuff from Amazon to her house that I wanted as part of the setup. She told me to create the return and she would drop if off at Kohl's. She told me which one was closer to her house and so I arranged it. It took her almost 3 weeks to do it! And this is after her telling me over and over and over that she will do it on this or that day. My event was for 7-3-21 and she finally did it on 7-19-21. I would warn everyone about working with this girl. She is extremely unprofessional. Overall, very bad experience.
