Recommended by a friend, I came to pick up chocolate. I was greeted when I walked in and offered assistance finding items. There were a wide variety of Belgian chocolates to choose from and beautiful packaging. There were premade boxed if giving as a gift or individual options if indulging for oneself. Jacob gave suggestions and also brought out samples which sold me on some good options. I opted for a Standard box and picked two layers of boozy chocolate (yes, boozy) and one additional layer of chocolates without the adult component. Seen some of their chocolate sold in store and I liked them so I decided to stop by and check out their shop. Belgian style chocolate. Small batches and made in store. They have so many chocolate options and gift ideas in store Truffles and bar is good. Chocolate is smooth and bar contain plenty of toppings. Truffles have a good balance of sweetness pair with melt in your mouth filling. They do use soy lecithin in their chocolate. It helps with quality control. But high end chocolate not supposed to have that. read more

This is not a word I use often, but the chocolate here is divine. They describe themselves as a small batch, artisanal chocolatier. I believe it is locally owned. I love how you can see the open kitchen where the chocolate magic happens. They do sell their products at some of the local markets, but you have to shop in store to make up customized boxes of chocolates. Stumbled by on accident walking around after lunch. DELICIOUS!!! Chocolates were all super cute and so many great gift options for Mother's Day. The shop worker went over their faves as well as customer faves. We chose a small sampling to take home in a small bag instead of a box and we shared the Affogato. The size of the affogato was incredible especially for the price point. The Illy espresso was hot, strong and delicious. My husband said the best affogato he has had in Michigan and would drive all the way back just for that! There wasn't indoor seating but it was a beautiful day and walked to end of street where Adirondack chairs and picnic tables past parking structure. We bought a few pieces of chocolates to take home. Was pleasantly surprised there was a QR code to help us remember all the flavors we chose. They were all delicious but the cappuccino cup was my fave! We cannot wait for another excuse to drive to Ferndale and get more! Highly recommend. read more

Walking alone and notice this cute little chocolate shop. The chocolate is something special! Worth the price. It's like a tiny peace of heaven in every bite! Belgian chocolate that is made in store..all their candy is made in store and the hot chocolate. The hot chocolate literally melts in your mouth! I'm not a chocolate person. At least not chocolate bars. But when a place advertises Belgian style hot drinking chocolate made fresh every day? Yeah, I'll be there. They get all the points for offering fresh made drinking chocolate at all, rather than your average made-from-powder kind. You absolutely can tell the difference. Not much beats grabing a cup of hot drinking chocolate on a cold day to warm your body up. (Except for those alcoholic warm drinks.. mulled wine, anyone?) Of course, DRIVING to a place only to walk down the garage to grab a cup makes the experience less than ideal. But that's Midwest for ya. If I was walking all day in say, NYC, and stopping to get a cup would make this place 10 times more appealing than it already is. It's a shame that geolocation weighs so much as a deciding factor. Place is set up adorably with gorgeous displays of different chocolate and chocolate infused deserts. I didn't go super wild, but everything I got turned out delicious. This is coming from a guy who does not usually indulge in chocolates. Lady who helped us was very nice, too. She mentioned something about the owner making fresh chocolate every day so I don't think she was the owner. But she was very knowledgeable with all their offerings. Well it's just ok...most of the product is good it's just poorly and quickly made...and as cheap as possible but you are charged top dollar...lots of other candy stores in area.. Gails Chocolates, Birmingham Chocolate, ..the other fair Quix offers is known for quality ..great ice cream..and gifts ..but if your coming for fine Belgian chocolate...it misses the mark... read more

If you love chocolate, you really have to try this little gem in Ferndale because their pralines (Belgian Chocolate) are as good as they get - by far the best I have had in the US. We usually get a box of 16 pralines, and every one of them is incredible - full of flavor, fresh, and smooth. You know they use the best ingredients because you can really taste each one of them. They are all amazing and it's impossible to pick one favorite, but I truly enjoy Quix (a layer of hazelnut praline over cream with a dark-chocolate casing), Café Belge, and Coeur d' Amour Dark.  I've never written a Yelp review before but I felt compelled to do so because I really need them to succeed so that I can continue to enjoy their amazing chocolate! The most delicious chocolate, friendly experience, and the place smells amazing! This is top-tier desserts if you're in town. We got the Mackinac Island fudge ice cream dipped in milk chocolate and it was to die for. They even gave us a little free sample of a Yuzu chocolate, which was such a treat! What a welcome addition to the neighborhood! They have all sorts of chocolates and guernsey ice cream - we had the ice cream there and will work on the chocolates later. The butter pecan and pistachio ice creams were outstanding - they have different types of waffle cones. We stuck with basic waffle cones. No regrets there. I like that you can see into their kitchen and see where the magic happens. The staff is super friendly and helpful. In fact, they were making a vanilla ganache thing. They accidentally broke some and just gave it to us - that tasted sublime! I hope these guys stick around, because I love Belgian chocolates. They also have an espresso machine, and I look forward to trying that. read more

Please patronize this beautiful, delicious and charming business. I want Quix to remain a part of our Fabulous Ferndale community forever. Finally stopped in today for the first time. The chocolates are heavenly! Such pretty little treats in the most creative and tasty combinations. The lovely woman working there greeted us so warmly and offered us FULL SIZE chocolate samples, which is very generous for first time visitors. We were blown away and had to buy a box to sample more. I highly recommend this shop! Great place to stop in for a casual after lunch/dinner treat, to pick up a unique gift for someone special or even for a romantic surprise for a partner. Can't wait to return to try the coffees and ice cream. The rum raisin chocolate and mango dark chocolate are my favorites so far, just incredible! read more
