I have had ice cream from their food truck and also their brick & mortar location (that they share with Hero or Villain). I absolutely love their Kooky Monster flavor: blue vanilla ice cream with Oreos and cookie dough. The ultimate cookies & cream flavor! Not overly sweet and the sandwich version of this is amazing too (sandwiched between two soft chocolate chip cookies). I also tried the root beer flavor and it tasted like I was eating a delicious root beer float! And I've had the cherry marshmallow flavor which was great: it didn't taste artificial and the marshmallow was a nice touch. This is a cute little icecream shop that shares a space with a sandwhich shop and a coffee shop. There is a lot of seating inside with cute little books to look through. The ice cream shop offers a unique blend of different flavors. I tried the cookie monster which is vanilla ice cream dyed blue with cookie dough. They also hbae some desserts such as cheese cake, brownies, oreo puffs, and chocolate covered desserts. They also have bread pudding available on Sundays. I got an oreo puff in my dessert. The only reason I am giving this a 4 star is because I showed up at 1pm as the first customer. It took 25 minutes for the oreo to be ready. I did love that it was warm and fresh but I was quoted 14 minutes by one staff and the other said it should actually only be 8 minutes. 25 minutes isnt too bad for a fresh batch but some customers may not want to wait that long. read more

This is the first ice cream place I went to in Ferndale in a while, and I had good expectations considering how well Ferndale has treated me when it comes to breakfast, lunch and dinner. But winding down the day after a good meal at Pops For Italian down the street, finding myself walking into a nostalgic nerd factory, with Pac-Man and other arcade games scattered across the red, blue, and yellow flooring that reminds you of a laser tag battlefield you used to play in as a kid, you can't help but reminisce. How would you like to reminisce with a Caramel Apple Float to kick off fall? Maybe on a nicer day, although the ice cream itself is absolutely delicious, the melted aftermath leaves a lot to interpretation. Did they accidentally spill in another extra pound of salt? Does caramel not mix in well with soft drinks? With that being said, I've never had a caramel soda before. Something to experiment! Anyways, I also got a chunky, dark chocolate watermelon concoction/milkshake, and it tasted so dreamy, sugary and refreshing. But, it was not clear of a severe pet peeve I have with chunky milkshakes. When you have big chunks of some type of cookie, nougat or chip in the shake, it's easy to get big pieces stuck inside of your straw. I always have to blow super hard on it to get it loose, which always has me thinking, why not just get bigger straws? Went here yesterday with my family. It's a pretty large shop, honestly one of the biggest ice cream shops I've ever been in. They were out of a lot of stuff and just threw sticky notes on the screen to signify. They allow each guest 3 samples and have numerous signs reminding you of it. Felt tacky to me. But they have really cool offerings - things like ketchup and jalapeño and salted pretzel. I tasted both and liked them more than I expected to, but I ended up getting the fruity pebbles and the salted butterscotch on a fruity pebble cone. I opted for the 1/2 scoops and they were HEFTY - and I loved it. Definitely get a bang for your buck. What I didn't like was how my scoops were placed on my cone all lopsided. I had to ask for a cup, otherwise I'm sure my ice cream would have fallen off and hit the ground. We ate inside and it seemed like no one was coming out and wiping down the tables after guests as most of them were sticky & drippy. Was really excited to check out Treat Dreams. I've heard great things about their unique ice cream flavors and elaborate desserts. Was considerably disappointed with my experience here. They're were only a few ice cream flavors available. I tried the red velvet and it tasted like basic chocolate ice cream and had ice pieces in it. The other flavors were all fairly standard. They did have a few vegan options which is nice. I thought about checking out some of the other desserts but the display racks were mostly empty which was surprising because I stopped by around noon. While on a weekend getaway with my family from Louisville in the Detroit area after a long day of attraction gazing we decided to grab an ice cream from a local Parlor. After scouring the yelp reviews and photos of local places "treat dreams" stuck out to us. The cookie Ice cream sandwiches is what drew us in. We approach the counter and i immediately inquire about the kookie monster treat. Asked the important question "what is the blue ice cream". It was Superman flavored. Boom the kids were sold. We got 2 of the kookie monsters for 2 of my 4 kids. I also got a cookie treat which was mint chocolate chip ice cream with double chocolate cookies as the "bread" for the sandwich. The cookie sandwich's all came pre made and was in containers inside a freezer. My wife got a red velvet cupcake Ice cream scoop and my two youngest shared a scoop of chocolate ice cream in a bowl (because after 4 kids you know that you don't want none of the mess a cone brings). The cookie ice cream sandwiches were great. Mine was at least. One of my daughters liked her kooky monster a lot and the other said it was just ok. But it was hard for her to bite because it was a large bite for a small mouth. So I'm thinking that was a factor. The youngest two ate most of the chocolate and my wife enjoyed her red velvet. Went with my hubby to a Yelp event which said he had one guest with him. When we got there I wasn't on the list, my husband showed the girl what Yelp said, but she said no and so I was given some options, but I was too far down the counter where my hubby had to check in and couldn't really read the options well (hand written on chalk board). I ended up getting just one scoop of vanilla with waffle cone broken over it (due to the list she told me since not being able to get to menu from someone blocking) and I just chose waffle cone due to the options she quoted off to me. To be honest our server really didn't impress me because she didnt see me officially on the list although my hubby showed her the Yelp... she just seemed a bit annoyed. The salted butterscotch wasn't just salted, it was the saltiest thing I've ever eaten and I'm a sucker for sweet and salty! Hard pass on that flavor. Blueberry donut ice cream was really good though. Vanilla and kooky monster tasted like nothing and were just cold but literally no flavor profile. Also the sorbets just felt like ice with again no flavor. Could have been an off day when we went since I remember this place being absolutely awesome but I truly don't think I'd go back here again after our last experience. I asked the worker which be recommended and he said the Kooky Monster. So I ordered the Kooky Monster ice cream in a cup - it's vanilla ice cream (dyed blue) with Oreos and cookie dough chunks in it. I sampled both of his scoops, and the flavors weren't my thing, but to each his own! . My only complaint is that the ice cream was too cold and solid. I know it sounds weird and counter intuitive, but we had to wait almost 10 minutes to eat our scoops before it was comfortable and we could actually taste the flavors and scoop out pieces. 4 years later which means Treat Dreams gets another updated review from me! Went here with a coworker friend yesterday, we did Como's for pizza and then came here. If you have the Entertainment book or app, they have a coupon for BOGO, which was a great deal ... about $3.80 total for two 1-scoop ice creams. My friend ordered the Blueberry Donut ice cream, and I ordered the vegan Death by OREO, since I was trying to be nice to my stomach after the pizza. I'm just going to say it ... their vegan ice cream is not that great. It's made with rice milk, and every time I've had it, it's been kind of icy-tasting (more so than its dairy counterpart). Death by OREO was still tasty, because it was very chocolate-y, but my friend's Blueberry Donut was much better. Browndog in Farmington/Northville (two locations) does vegan ice cream with coconut milk, and it's a lot better than the rice milk ice cream I've had from here. That being said, you can try as many ice creams as you like before ordering, and all of the dairy ice cream I've had here has been fantastic. They did a Yelp event here a while back too which was also a great time. They recently updated the shop, too, and rebranded as "Treat Dreams Dessert Emporium," and the shop looks pretty nice. They still get 4 stars from me because the dairy ice cream is delicious. You can also buy ice cream by the pint, and they have some ridiculous things too like a 5 pound cookie sandwich ($42, or $44 for vegan), as well as some normal-sized cookie sandwiches too (and stuffed cookies, which looked tasty!). The new dessert emporium is very neat looking! The lighting and new design is impressive. I came tonight with a friend and we were excited to try the flights as there were so many new options. We both planned to try 3 flights: ice cream, cookie dough and cake. They also had some crazy new flavors of ice cream, lobster bisque and dirty martini. My friend asked for her flights in a separate container so she could take some to go. I watched them serve her and thought the portions were huge. Full piece of cake. Big scoops of everything. There was a huge line so she paid. She was not pleased at her $15 bill. I was relieved that I got the flight size portions as asked for, and the ice cream was a pretty good size. We have been coming to Treat Dreams for ages. I love it here. It's amazing. I didn't think it had been that long since I last came here, but today I realized they had completely transformed the place. They've updated the seating, added a cookie dough bar, and an amazing looking baked goods section, plus bags of popcorn, cotton candy, crispy treats, and so much more. I was completely stunned and impressed! We originally wanted a brownie ice cream sandwich but we were told they don't do that anymore. I participated in a Yelp elite event to try a sundae at Treat Dreams in Ferndale. I was asked what flavor of ice cream I wanted for the sundae by a very friendly employee. They had regular ice cream and vegan choices. All of the flavors were unique and sounded so good. I asked to try the coconut cream pie which was excellent but ended up going with the double chocolate chip for the sundae. I love chocolate and this ice cream was delicious! They have many unique flavors, the ones at the top of the menu board are available all of the time and the other flavors rotate. The free samples given were a nice size which helped narrow down my decision. The sundae was 1 scoop served in a cup on top of a breaded oreo topped with cherry sauce. I also opted for the whipped cream and cherry. The sundae was really good, but honestly the ice cream is so tasty it would have been great just on its own.
