It's a smaller and much quieter alternative to neighboring options, but still has everything you could want for the perfect beach day. Bathrooms? Check. Showers? Check. Food and beverage stand with a variety of options? Check. Short walk to the beach? Check. Everyone mostly behaves on this beach, which I appreciate. It's definitely not a "Hamptons party beach" (if you're looking for that vibe, Hot Dog beach would be my pick, where the surfer bros like to hang. It's worth noting that the bathrooms at Tiana don't open until the last week of June, so if you're coming here for the day before then you may have to brave the port-a-potty. Also, if you see a seal on the beach here, leave it alone or face a fine. That said, they're so fun to spot -- promise my seal photos are taken from a far distance with a zoomed in camera.

Cooper's Beach is just BEAUTIFUL! We even saw 2 rainbow when we were there! White sand and hardly any garbage on the beach. They even have a dispenser with suntan lotion! Slather some on and don't get sunburned! They also have a cafeteria, outdoor shower, and restrooms near the parking lot.

My pup had the BEST time ever running around the secluded beach. Not far down the road is Main street in West Hampton which has tons of little cute shops and restaurants. The parking lot for this beach isn't paved, so I had a bit of trouble getting into and out of a spot with my car on the sand. The walk to the beach is also further than Tiana with less amenities. There's no food stand and the bathrooms are very bare bones, though there is a shower. Once on the beach though all was well, there was ample sand and surf to be had and everyone there seemed to be having a great time. I did see two dogs during my time here which made me happy since that's how I hear the beach got it's name (though I've also heard that they no longer allow dogs on the beach during main season so sorry if I'm being a narc...no one was enforcing the no dog policy when I was there though!).

This is the first beach I've gone to which was actually really clean and people are really nice . The parking fee is only 15$ which is not bad at all then you can park anywhere and just go onto the beach . The sand is perfect its so soft and some shells but its easy to walk on . Its great for anyone family , couples , groups etc . The west Hamptons beach is a must to go to .

My son loves the outdoors and animals so we figured it would be a perfect activity for him. We were totally right. Several trails, that aren't too difficult, surround this gorgeous spot on the Island. We did one of the shorter hikes and it was perfect for us for our first time. We were also able to bring the stroller on the hike with us. There are owls, birds, fish and turtles that can be seen throughout the refuge. It really was a fabulous day. They also have a ton of family programming too. Looking forward to making the trip out here again soon!

Located just down Dune Rd. from Ponquogue, this beach is far quieter than it's nearby brother. You'll always find the local surf talent here, along with HB residents looking for a quiet afternoon. As much as I love Ponquogue, this beach also holds a special place in my heart, after years of fun summer days spent on its peaceful sands. Most tourists are unaware of this beach's existence, and never drive past Ponquogue, although it's certainly gotten more visitors as the years go by.
