Dr Nguyen took great care of me throughout my pregnancy until delivery day. He is one of the best care providers I have ever met. My husband and I are so grateful for his thoughtful care. I Can not put into words how bad this doctor is!!!! My primary sent me to see him for menopause, and this man literally put his hands on his hips and swing back and forth and said "sometimes when I don't sleep I'm crank too. He offered nothing, and basically told me to get more sleep". I was then sent to a female doctor who immediately put me on hormone replacements after she checked all my levels. He never even offered to check all my levels, and they were off the chart bad. Has no care for his patients and zero knowledge on how to treat/speak to woman in menopause. It's hard to enough to start the change but its even worse when you have a doctor who does not care and says dumb things!!! read more

This review reflects my experience with the office staff at this practice. Though patient care does include how patients are treated by office staff. On Dr Nguyen's website, it says he is accepting new patients. But despite our attempts over 2 weeks to schedule a checkup, it seems like the office is not interested in scheduling a check up for new patients. This is understandable, but please just make it obvious that you are not accepting new patients. Also, when we contacted UCLA Health, they were uncertain of exactly where Dr Nguyen's office is. They suggested to my partner to go to the office to enquire of the staff. When he finally arrived at the office, he was shooed away. The whole process felt unprofessional, like we were vying for a coveted appointment with a Kardashian cosmetic surgeon, not a practical appointment with an OB. read more

I had a wonderful experience with Dr. Nguyen! He is kind, patient and always attentive to any concerns I had. He responds really quickly to emails which was something very important to me as I was pregnant for the first time and needed a doctor that was able to answer any questions or concerns that I had. He has great energy and he delivered my baby with patience and was very encouraging. Luckily I didn't tare but my sister who was in the delivery room told me that he was massaging the area and I think that that probably helped a lot with not tearing and I am extremely grateful! I was referred to this doctor by another who was just trying to cover her own butt. I was looking to have my IUD that was put in by the other dr's office to be removed because it was causing issues and was sideways. Dr. Nguyen couldn't get it out, which wasn't his fault, but because he probably didn't want to be the one responsible for issues later he kept trying to convince me to keep it in knowing that I needed a hysterectomy. The comment he made to try to convince me to keep it in was, "Well, you don't want to bleed out on the operating room table." (Referring to my hysterectomy surgery that was done by one of the top gynecological surgeons in the country!). I wouldn't recommend this doctor because of his poor bedside manner and poor choice to try and back up another doctor that's not even in the same practice as him. AWESOME! Dr. Nguyen was the Best OBGYN ever. I met him at his old office in Manhattan Beach & continued to do so during my pregnancy at his Rodeo Dr office. At first I was kinda skeptic about having a Male OBGYN.. BUT after meeting him, I knew he was a great fit for me. He is understanding, patient, professional & very knowledgeable. During my pregnancy, I had a lot of questions (literally came up with the most random ones!) & he didn't even trip about it. I Loved the fact that I can shoot him a message & expect an answer within 2-3hrs. I think that's pretty cool compared to other OBGYN who don't use messaging. I truly found Dr. Ngyuyen to be helpful, responsive and informative during my high risk pregnancy. However, I was pressured into being induced a week early and then I pushed back and he cited statistics for women my age saying 2/3s deliver stillborn past their due date. He finally agreed to induce me on my due date but I believe this to be a mistake. I was induced with this medieval looking device called the foley to pry open the cervix. I wasn't dilated so then they tried ptocin which sped up contractions to 45 seconds apart - women go from 5 minutes to 30 seconds naturally over the course of a day; sometimes quicker. Mine were from 0-60 without a gradual increase in intensity. I finally pushed for 50 minutes after 25 hours of labor. Then Dr. N pulled my placenta out -- he did not deliver it -- and I felt really woozy and had a fever. But they ushered me out into a wheelchair and en route to recovery. But when I couldn't walk three steps to the bathroom, and screamed in pain, I knew something was wrong. I collapsed on the nurse. She summoned a midwife who touched my belly and thought pieces of placenta were stuck inside. She put her entire fist in there and the pain was worse than intense contractions!! I was hemorrhaging blood but the staff said the membranes stuck inside must come out or I'll never heal and hemorrhage out. A doctor walked in - he was kind and said he had to extract the pieces manually. He had blood up to this elbows and my husband watched the whole thing. I was screaming and looking at the ceiling, and begging him to stop. I honestly felt like I was dying. I hemorrhaged 32 ozs 900 ml of blood and had two transfusions in the ICU. My iron levels wouldn't rise. It took days for me to walk. My healing process is elongated. I even had a doula but she disappeared to retrieve a cooler from her car to stow my placenta! She noticed pieces missing when she retrieved it -- AFTER I hemorrhaged. read more

I was referred to Dr. Nguyen by a friend who spoke the world of him. I was very nervous to bite the bullet and make the appointment since he was a male OBGYN, but my friend insisted that I would really like him. Well, sure enough I did! His caring nature, calm attitude, and professionalism immediately made me feel comfortable when I first met him. Despite being in a VERY busy office, Dr. Nguyen spent his time making sure I understood everything, all my concerns were addressed, and all my questions were answered. I'm very happy to say that since seeing him, my problem has been resolved! He is also very responsive on their online portal system which is a huge bonus! I was shocked how fast he responded to my messages! Long story short- amazing OBGYN, who cares that he is male, I'm happy I found a great doc! read more

I don't know anyone more terrified to give birth than I was. I was so nervous and scared to deliver vaginally that I asked for a C-Section at my very first prenatal appointment and guess what - my vaginal delivery ended up going so smoothly and was so peaceful and calm ( did not scream once !) that I look forward to our second kid and will most definitely have it delivered by Dr.Nguyen ( as long as he stays in LA!) My husband and I went to 3 other highly rated obgyns before finding Dr.Nguyen and no one made us more comfortable as first time parents than he did. I was a pretty needy patient and he answered all of my questions ( still does , I ask questions through the patient portal frequently ) - and he responds quickly. He even helped while I was out of state and has to seek medical attention due to a kidney infection . I typically don't write reviews, but everyone deserves to know how fantastic he is in caring for his patients and hopefully this review can help you in feeling confident in selecting Dr. Nguyen as your OBGYN (and you will be so happy with that decision!!). We have had such a wonderful experience with him throughout my pregnancy and for the birth of our son. All of our questions were always answered very objectively and he always heard our concerns and would help us with any and all information that we needed to be the best decisions and choices for us as we navigated pregnancy. I seriously can't say enough good things about Dr Nguyen. I recommend him to all my friends and family!! He is so caring and attentive. Halfway through my pregnancy the pandemic happened, I was very worried and stressed out and Dr. Nguyen eased my mind every appointment. He spends time answering every one of your questions. Something that is very important to me when seeing a doctor is that they remember things from the past that you have talked about with them, he always remembers and checks that everything is okay since then. I've had such an incredible experience with Dr. Nguyen. I had to switch doctors as my previous gyno didn't take my insurance anymore, and I'm SO happy I chose Dr. Nguyen. I've never had a doctor be so attentive, passionate, and caring about his patients. He took the time to explain everything to me in great detail, and really made sure I felt comfortable the entire time. On top of that, they use a patient portal where lab results are uploaded and you can message the Dr with any questions. I had a question about my lab results and I kid you not Dr Nguyen replied within the hour of sending the message, and to no surprise, it was very detailed and personal. My girlfriend and I recently were in town for vacation. FYI, she's about 4 months pregnant. Well, being first time parents, we had a big scare when she slipped and fell. Our hotel concierge recommended Dr. Nguyen at Rodeo Drive Women's Health Center. We called Dr. Nguyen's office and he was able to see us right away! He performed a thorough ultrasound and was able to reassure us that everything was fine. Now the reason why I felt compelled to write a review is this- Dr. Nguyen's bedside manner, knowledge, and confidence took us from being extremely scared and nervous to calm and 100% reassured. He spent a lot of time with us answering every one of our questions. My girlfriend and I felt a connection with Dr. Nguyen that I wish we had with our doctor back home. We both think that Dr. Nguyen is an excellent physician just from our one emergency visit and would highly recommend him! If we were ready to move to LA now, then we totally would. I usually see one of the other physicians at Rodeo Drive Women's Center, but I have a demanding schedule that requires being fit in on short notice, so I saw Dr Nguyen for my annual exam. He's the newest doctor in the office, which translates into him clearly being the most fresh-faced, technologically adept, and energetic. He's super knowledgeable, and you can tell he's always reading and only practices what the most recent evidence suggests. Most importantly, he made me feel so unbelievably comfortable. It was literally the smoothest pap smear I've ever had. Not to mention, the man is easy on the eyes! I definitely plan to come back to see him for all of my future appointments, and would love to have him deliver my baby! Dr. Nguyen is phenomenal. I can't say enough amazing things about him. This was our first pregnancy, it was high risk with twins during a pandemic. Throughout the entire journey he kept us safe and healthy. He was meticulous and very reassuring. I was always able to reach him promptly through the portal with any concern. Communication was fantastic. I delivered with no issues and very little pain after. Recovery was smooth. It was a c-section at nearly 39 weeks and everything went well! Furthermore his incision was done in such a manner that it is hardly noticeable - all the nurses were so impressed! We LOVE Dr. Nguyen so much!!! I was especially concerned during pregnancy because women of color have a higher maternal mortality rate - Dr Nguyen completely relieved any fears I had. Highly recommend Dr. Nguyen! Another doctor recommended him halfway through my pregnancy because I wasn't satisfied with the OBGYN I was seeing. At our first appointment, I expressed my concerns and made it clear what I was looking for in a physician. Dr. Nguyen's response to my concerns was "I will listen to you." Honestly, that's all most people want. I've been to countless doctors due to endometriosis and he is by far my favorite. I had a smooth pregnancy up until the end when a few factors led me to elect a C-section. Throughout the journey, Dr. Nguyen gave me his medical recommendations but supported my choices, explored options thoroughly, was patient, and answered all my questions. I never felt rushed and he always messaged me back quickly. The day of my c-section, he came to check on me before surgery and he checked on me the day after surgery which was Father's Day! Dr. Nguyen is everything you can ask for in an OBGYN! He is very patient, answers all of your questions thoroughly, and stays calm in the moment. We feel very blessed to have met him at 33 weeks when we found him and went to him for a second opinion, after our first OB wanted to schedule us for a c-section at 37 weeks. He spent more time with us during that session than all of our meetings with our previous OB combined. He gladly took us as his patients at 33 weeks, (it is very difficult to find a new OB at such a late term in the pregnancy), especially someone of Dr. Nguyen's caliber. He has great bedside manner, and valued our thoughts, and at the same time was very professional. Thanks to him, we were able to naturally deliver our boy last week at 40 weeks. I posted this same review on google and wanted to share it here! I switched to Dr. Nguyen for my annual pap, when I was still trying to get pregnant. He ordered an HSG test for me and I was unable to get an appointment that month. I reached out to him via the client portal and he sent my request to three other facilities so that I could get in ASAP. The HSG test that I was able to get in for was likely the reason I finally got pregnant that same month! Fast forward and I am almost half way through my pregnancy. He has great beside manner, has answered any and all of my questions no matter how silly. He's ordered the extra tests that I have requested (being a very nervous second time mom) without question. Most importantly, he is incredibly timely and responsive via the client portal to answer a question, fill a prescription, send you a result. read more

I can't hype Dr. Nguyen up enough. His bedside manner is wonderful, he's not an alarmist, all of his opinions and predictions about my pregnancy were accurate (contrary to those of some specialists I had to see). He's knowledgeable and his confidence in his knowledge puts you at ease, never feeling like he's holding back/hedging his opinion. He does not churn out as many patients as possible. He never rushed me (neither during my appointments nor during my hospital stay), and he had no problem advocating for me with the hospital. He was amazing during my cesarean. He intuitively checked in on me whenever I began feeling nervous, and I credit his surgical skill for my quick and easy recovery. Three months out, my scar is barely noticeable. Dr Nguyen was my obgyn and just delivered my first baby. All I can say is I have never felt more comfortable, he was very attentive to my questions or concerns and always replied back on the website in a timely manner. He took his time each appointment with me and was just so nice in general.
