Still did not see the truck coming, I called again at 1:55, after called many times, a gentleman picked up phone and said the truck was broken. They will send another tow truck and need 1 hour to arrive. I waited and waited. I called again and again. Every time they said it would be in 5-10 min. After multiple calls and multiple 5-10min, the truck finally came at 4:40pm.

The dispatcher on duty didn't seem to care that I had waited all day for a scheduled tow. I would not use this company for anything. They don't care, and they constantly just make up a time just to try to get off the phone.

I am reporting a scam with a towing/recovery service business - MGD Towing & Recovery Services Inc…read morelocated in a residential area at 75 West Clinton Avenue, Roosevelt, NY 11575 - US DOT 3336799 - MC1064270 - phone # 516-808-8563m - Michael Davis is the owner of the company. He stores vehicles at 20 Hilton Avenue, Hempstead, NY 11550. The above company was originally asked to repossess my car that was in Medford which he did. The problem started upon Michael Davis receiving the car. He lured me into believing that it was best to for him to pay the car loan and insurance payments instead of getting it sold. He felt it would be beneficial to his company and his needs. He sounded very convincing so as an older religious Christian person, I believed him. This went on for one year where he played on my emotions via texting and phone calls. His multiple communication measures eventually displayed struggles with health issues and constant empty promises to return the money he owed me personally, as well as for the loan, and for the insurance payments. He even incurred EZ pass fees and parking/red light ticket violations which came to me as the owner of the car. I eventually was able to come to my senses and go to the police. They advised me to send a text relinquishing permission to use the vehicle followed by a certified letter which was never signed. He did receive the first class mailed letter. I then did go to the police who contacted him informing to return the vehicle. I was police escorted to the locked parking lot where the vehicle was. The car sustained severe right front-end damage. The interior was very dirty with a terrible odor of drugs and body smells. We were told that there was no paperwork from the company for the original towing or the release of the car. The police at the first precinct and the escorting police all agreed that this was a huge scam. Michael even returned a small amount of money in the past that were in $1 and $5 denominations that was odorous. Michael was going to refuse to put gasoline into the car during pickup despite the tank being empty but there was a gentleman who came after the door was unlocked and agreed to put $20 of gasoline into the tank. The young adult who originally opened the padlock had a very frightened look on his face since he was not doing what Michael Davis told him to do while being on the phone with him - to put gasoline from a gas can on the premises. The young adult also saw two patrol cars that escorted me for car pickup. The other gentleman made it clear if there were any further problems to call Michael Davis. In addition, the car incurred 30,000 miles while in the possession of Michael Davis. I am reporting this scam to the Better Business Bureau, Yelp, Chamber of Commerce, NYS DMV Facility (re: tow operator), NYS Department of State, Federal Trade Commission, and News 12. I am also going to file civil charges for all the money owed totaling in $40,105.97 as of 6/20/2026. I strongly advise anyone NOT to use this company for ANY services. This entire situation has imposed a huge hardship on me physically, emotionally, and financially.

We were prepared to pay, but the guy insisted they were "cash only," which violates NY consumer law. When we pushed back, he said we had to wait for the owner Michael G. Davis. When he arrived he ALSO said "Cash Only" but again we clearly knew our rights and he THEN stated we could pay by card if we signed extensive paperwork. When we agreed, the card reader magically "stopped working." Multiple families were dealing with the same setup. There was a man in a legitimate spot! But Michael was telling him he isn't allowed in the lot! This feels predatory... this is intentional. After I posted a Google review, not sure how Michael did it... maybe changed the phone number on their account so the review wouldn't show? Not sure but It shows up as a place in Atlanta now.. That says everything. That's why I purposely found their yelp & am now typing this out. I've filed complaints with the proper authorities. Document everything if you deal with MGD - Michael G Davis! Take video. I will always be the first to support a black owned business especially a veteran! SHAME on you, sir!
