$2,440.96 for a 2-3 mile tow and 2 days in the yard. After calling for an explanation, the guy spent most of the time asking why Geico took the 2 grand from the collision settlement, when I wanted answers about their ABSURD PRICING. The tow ITSELF was $400! $500 Recover fee for my wheel being popped off after the accident. $175 "admin fee" that they obviously couldn't give a clear answer for. $175 "yard fee", same explanation. $250 CLEANING FEE FOR BRAKE FLUID, $275/day to keep it in the tow yard, $180 in taxes, and some other charges I couldn't believe. I called expecting them to give no real answer as to why this pricing is absurdly high, likely because they'll just charge the insurance company who will then trickle it down to the driver. Bingo. Seems like it may be different if you go without insurance route (although his answer was "we wouldn't even tow it"), but I guarantee there's more ethical tows around, not hard to find. read more

My car gets towed I find out via police that Matt's Towing has the vehicle 12:32 pm Called towing company the guy who answered said He will call me right back & abruptly hung up the call 12:39pm l ask about car again - guy says he has to check which lot it's located in - and that his guys are on lunch break - and he will call me back. 1:58 pm No call back - l call- no ansver - Left voicemail message: Car is where? How much do I need to pay? What paperwork do I need to bring? 2:33pm No return call so I called again, no answer goes direct to voicemail - I Ask my husband) if I should just go to their lot - He says try to call one more time 2:51pm I call again dude answers I tell him I want to pick up my towed car - asks what car is it - I tell him, again - he says has to check which lot it is in and will call me back. Have timer set for 18 min to call back. ..... Their Guy never call me back- I ask my husband to call - my husband calls and all of the sudden the guy has all the answers. $218 to get car back CASH ONLY tells us to go to 850 Third Avenue. I go to location After I looked around for a "tow lot" and upon not finding it I call tow place again and immediately get hung up on. I call My husband to call them and see what the F*#~ is going on - I finally get call as to where to meet tow truck driver who releases my car after handing him the cash. So much angst all day when the guy who answers the phone could have told me- communicated better....guess he takes perverse pleasure in making people frustrated. read more

The company has a contract with the Atlantic Center HOMEOWNERS Association to remove illegal parked cars. When called either they don't show or find an excuse NOT to respond. For example on 6/16/2024 @ 8:45 PM they were called to remove a car by a homeowner. Half an hour later they call me to tell me someone from he board has to call them as per the dispatcher who was advice by his manager. In 35 yrs dealing with a tow companies that was never the procedure. So in my opinion they are NOT dependable. read more

Was calling around for a quote and got a call back from Matt's. Service was good and reliable but prices are gouged ASF. $100 for towing within .5 miles.... The tire shop was LESS than that radius, as well as the towing company. He drove less than 1 mile for this job TOTAL. I got lucky with location but unlucky with their greed. I actually got my car towed by Matt's for being in front of a driveway a few inches. He def does his job for the customer! Lol, but after a crazy day of trying to locate it, I really appreciated the service from John. It was evening time and he had to travel from a while out. he called me and told me I could call/text him. I texted him when I was there and he gave me his ETA again. He was so polite and got my car back to me quickly... it was very nice after my day. He checked me out and gave me a receipt. Cash - $136 card $148. A fair price for a tow in brooklyn. It all starts with my Nissan shitbox that car was junk. Broke down on me like 17 times and all 23 times Matt showed up like a guardian angel with cake and I was the hopeless starving fat kid. This man showed up to a broke down gas station in his trusty steed of a tow truck and lifts me to safety like the dance from dirty dancing when that godly man lifts that twig into the air. Having semi-just moved to Brooklyn, I didn't have the hang of what to do in case of car emergency. When my car broke down last night and roadside assistance didn't show up after 4 hours (and after calling multiple companies) Matt's towing was the ONLY place that would do an after hour tow. Literally. The driver Will showed up in 23 minutes - towed my car to where I needed and even came back after I forgot to get a receipt for the insurance. One thing to note is that if you need an after hour tow then you need to have cash on hand. I am putting Matt's Towing's phone number in my phone and saving it in case I should ever be in the same situation (hopefully not) - again. read more

He assisted me with contacting an auto lock- smith who made my new keys on Matt's lot for a far better price than my dealership quoted. His prices were fair. read more

Shady operation. I suspect they towed my car illegally, and 311 couldn't track it down. My local police precinct finally found it at Matt's Towing. I called and whoever answered said i needed to come to the lot right away (10:00 PM on a Friday) if i wanted it before the following week. I waited in front of what looked like an abandoned lot for a while (employee showed up 30 mins late) and upon arrival he demanded $300 cash, refused to show me any evidence of their standard rates, and after i hit two separate ATMS to get the cash he demanded he refused to write me any kind of receipt. Each time i asked questions, the employee threatened to drive away and leave me on the street. I'm sure what they're doing is illegal, i'm just not sure what to do about it. read more

When I went to retrieve my car I scheduled a time to pick it up and waited for 90 minutes for someone to show up while they repeatedly mis-estimated how long it would take..Tow driver from Matt's, a large man sucking on a lollipop, showed up and proceeded to urinate behind another car while I waited. Great service, reasonable rates and courteous service all around. Having to tow your car under any circumstances is never a pleasant experience... Called several other tow companies for quotes all within the same price range but Matts Towing stood out with how the initial call was handled compared to the other companies. This company is a joke. When you call the guy says, cash or money order only. On the side of the truck it says takes credit cards. I explained my situation to the owner Matt. I was in a state or crisis and am from out of state. He told me he would help me. Told me someone would get my car out of the lot and I waited over 2 hours. Then when I kept calling back they were declining my calls! The only way I got ahold of someone was the person waiting outside for their car as well. I had to get a taxi ride to the middle of nowhere in some sketchy ass in Brooklyn to get my car out and waiting in the cold for hours. This place is so unprofessional. I have dealt with a few companies in the past but Matt and his crew set the standard of how a towing company should conduct themselves. Car broke down stumbled upon matts towing. Gave them a call and gave me a reasonable rate given the time it was and distance I was traveling. I gave the dispatcher the wrong address by mistake I ended being 3 miles from the address I gave them called the dispatcher and explained I wasn't from the area he said it was no issue and when I asked if the quote would be more he said it wasn't a problem at all. No other company would have done that considering the circumstances. Should up before they said they would and the service didn't end there they accepted my credit card which no other company would. Treated my car as if I was driving a Mercedes. A+++++++ service congrats to you guys for a job well done. read more
