Rod offered some ideas which was pretty sensitive to our budget. Raouf worked extremely diligent in all the tasks that you can see how he has experience in doing this kind of project and working with tools. The team worked with us all throughout the process. It was easy to negotiate with them until the end. I find that their pricing was pretty competitive with the other construction businesses and the quality of their work exceeds our expectations in the concrete job, compared to our Neighbors who had the exact same things done in our community of newly built homes. read more

I don't typically write glowing reviews but in the case of Ed Riddle and his team at R&G Construction, I felt compelled. We all struggle to find reliable, competitive, knowledgeable, LICENSED contractors who return calls, show up when promised, and who do a thorough job. We have "tried" other contractors, but Ed Riddle is simply hands-down above his competitors. Most importantly, he was truly interested in providing us finished product and design that we wanted! He didn't ever make it about his agenda and was never pushy. Last year, we were introduced to Ed when we moved to the area and needed our 5 hilly acres masticated and cleared. He wasn't the most inexpensive, but he was competitive and you get what you pay for, as they say! His bid sat on our desk for a few weeks while we tried to get 3 bids. After meeting a few other companies, it was very clear that Ed Riddle was the right guy. He followed up, he was flexible, and he partnered very well with us. Most importantly, he was truly interested in providing us finished product and design that we wanted! He didn't ever make it about his agenda and was never pushy. This year, we decided to build a large garden area and really needed the help of a knowledgeable contractor who we could trust. Again, we asked 3 companies to bid. Not only was Ed the most professional but he was also the most competitively priced. We iterated on the design for 2 months and finally landed on something we all liked. Ed and his crew began work and were here as scheduled until the job was completed. We made changes along the way and it wasn't a painful process and he kept the price the same. Now we have a beautiful fenced in garden area, a chicken run, and we are so excited to make our dream a reality this spring! One thing my husband liked about his construction is that he put a creature skirt all around the fence and the coop to make sure that rodents and the like won't steal our goodies that we grow! He even listened to me, the wife, about the things I wanted! Ed installed several railroad ties to create the steps down the hill to the garden. I'm short and he made sure that the steps were comfortable for me. He is SO GREAT! Our project was to improve drainage and reinforce a hillside on our property with a retaining wall. We also had them install stairs on another hillside. The project involved trying to figure out what the previous property owner had done and fix it. R&G worked through several issues that they uncovered. They communicated pretty well throughout the project. I especially appreciate their ability to work with our schedule which is a bit sporadic and required several weekend visits. There were a couple issues where we were not fully satisfied with some part and they willingly and quickly reworked that part until we were happy. The end result of the project looks great, we are happy with all of it. read more

Ed helped clear an old Christmas tree farm that was dying on my property in Garden Valley. He scheduled a time to be here, assessed our property and came out to do the job on time! I found these guys business practices highly deceptive. And, I except that I am responsible for half of my dissatisfaction because I didn't inquire about pricing. My story. I've lived in the Foothills over 40 years. I've been a licensed general contractor for 32 + years. The recent series of back-to-back snowstorms left me snowed in and I needed to have someone plow my driveway for the first time ever! The guy I called (not R&G) was pretty slammed but we agreed upon a day and time. Circumstance intervened and my guy couldn't make it in the agreed time frame so he essentially "sold" my job to Ed Riddle. I get a call from Ed who tells me this. Ed identified himself as a friend of my guy. He says he can get the job done where my original contact couldn't. (Ed never said he represented R&G Construction.) And this was my mistake. I assumed I was dealing with an individual, not a corporation. I assumed that all my previous experience working with individuals engaged in excavation contracting (tractor owner/operator's) equipped me with knowledge about pricing. To be fair, Ed supplied a man and a machine. The work began in the late evening and ended in the wee hours of the following morning (about 3 hrs total time). I was satisfied with the work done. So, why the one star? I gave Ed my email address so he could bill me. And the deception was revealed. I received an invoice in my inbox from R&G Construction. For "emergency" snow plowing services. What emergency? There was no emergency! I simply wanted a pro with the equipment and experience to plow my driveway at a time that was convenient for the operator. I was not insistent that the job be done "now". When you can get to it was my attitude. I just needed to be on someone's schedule. And who's R&G Construction? I looked them up. They're a corporation, with a contracting license, doing business as R&G. And Ed riddle? He's a officer of that corporation. And guy whose name is on the invoice? No record of him. And the billing address for remittance and the business address of the corporation in the CSLB database don't match. Red Flags! Now, as if that isn't enough they gouged meI I expected the cost to be high. All my previous experience told me a man and machine wouldn't come cheap. But over three times higher that any excavating contractor has ever charged me, for any service? Come on! read more

Avoid R & G Construction at all costs! We started a drainage project with Ed Riddle in early 2023. Ed was great and was the best part of the job. Unfortunately, our job got passed off to the other owner, Navid, who could not manage it at all. He was unprofessional with poor communication, poor project management, poor workmanship and deceptive business practices. One hand never knew what the other one was doing. This job was dragged out for over 10 months! It truly turned into a nightmare of a job and I hope that no one else has to go through what I did. read more

We just moved to cool and needed our entire property fenced keep our dogs from wandering. We read overwhelming positive comments on social media about Ed Riddle of R & G Construction. After speaking to Ed and getting some other estimates from other fence companies, we decided to have R & G do the work because Ed took the time to explain what we needed and why in the estimate and was willing to chat with me about costs and answer any questions I had. The job wouldn't be cheap, but for the amount of fencing we needed, it was well worth the money, based on the products he was going to use. We had some pretty specific requirements while the work was being done (start times and noise concerns, Covid precautions) and Ed assured us that his crew would follow our direction and notify us if there were problems or changes. The job was not easy, as the terrain was very steep and uneven, and the temperatures soared well above 100 degrees on most days. Ed's crew did an amazing job, and were very thorough. The crew foreman even walked the perimeter several times after they were done to make sure there was no way our dogs could escape or dig under and that there was no debris left behind. We are very happy with the job, and would not hesitate to have R & G Construction do another job for us in the future. read more

Ed and his crew have worked on several projects around our farm. He and his crews are always professional and stay on top of the job no matter what. Ed once had a piece of rental equipment fail in the middle of a rather large project. I told him not to worry, he could get back to me when his schedule freed up.
