I hired Guzman Landscape and Concrete to finish up some landscape work for my backyard. Most of the landscape and hardscape work was already completed but I still needed plants installed, a small dog run, irrigation, and a bit of concrete work for a garbage area. Pedro came out and gave me an estimate. The price seemed reasonable and his guys started a few days later. Overall, the quality and workmanship are poor. Many of the trees they installed were leaning one way or the other and I later had to go out there to straighten them out. They installed a large olive tree out front and I need to have that fixed by another company as it was installed well below the ground level. For drip, they installed a soaker hose instead of running individual drill lines to each plant. This seems to be from pure laziness. I also ended up replacing their soaker hoses with my own drip lines. They were supposed to grade the side of my home but didn't. I removed the gravel they installed and noticed that the side yard still needs grading - so that was never done! They also had the drains well above the ground so there is no way water will drain correctly. Their concrete work drained towards my house (opposite of how it should drain) and they put the drain on the other side. Of course there were no drains installed where the slope ended. While they worked daily on the project, they made a mess everywhere. That is normally ok but these guys don't clean up at the end of the day. The previous landscape contractor I had ensured the jobsite was clean every day when they left. Guzman Landscaping does not do that. A couple weeks after the job was complete, I noticed water leakage coming from the area where they ran a pipe. I text Pedro and asked him to take a look at it. Pedro text me back and told me that it wasn't their work and that I should call the previous landscaper. This is the response after I spent $10k with this company. I would never use this company again. I'm not sure how they are receiving five star reviews here on yelp but let's set the record straight about this company. I'm now hiring another company to rip out their concrete work and redo most of the work I hired them to do. This company is terrible to do business with. I'm certain they do mostly small jobs and no high end work. There's no way high end clients would put up with their inferior quality. read more

He also provided his input and a fair quote for the project. The project was to add a concrete driveway and a side concrete pathway to the entry hallway of the house (both were connected) Once they started the project, Pedro pointed out additional issues encountered on the property and what he could do. He was also precise and punctual about the time frame they will work on this project. When they finished the job, the front of the house looked much nicer than it used to be!
