They made it so easy; any items mom was not taking with her could simply stay where they were and they would take care of it all. The estimate was very reasonable. They communicated with us every step of the way and cleaned out the house in a timely manner. After they finished, we received photos showing each room empty and clean. They did an excellent job and made a very stressful move so less stressful. Working with this company was easy and enjoyable, and we highly recommend them.

Hope Auction is located, you will have seemingly arrived on another planet, in another time. If you want to avoid the typical tourist traps and experience something like from the movie "Witness", this is a trip you must make. The auction is HELD ONLY ON WEDNESDAY. That probably is a good thing, to avoid being overrun by, what is known to the Amish, as the English (that would be me). This is the place where Amish families come to buy, sell and trade their goods. I have been a few times now and find it utterly fascinating (I think they find me fascinating too) to hear the language, see the dress, horses and buggies.....just the tradition of the auction. Livestock, flowers, vegetables, clothing, kitchenware, tools, weapons, etc.etc. are available for purchase. Lots of things are literally auctioned off, but also you can just buy whatever. You can negotiate anything. The best time to buy food from the local gardens is in late summer or fall, otherwise most of it comes from the grocer. Still, it is cheaper and way much better than you would find at Giant Eagle and Krogers. Bringing a cooler sometimes is a good idea. BTW, it can be really dusty, so don't dress up. Along the way, you can stop in Charm, Ohio and visit both Miller's bakery and Hershburger's Farm. Both good places to buy bake goods. Hershburgers has more options of tasty bites such as popcorn, jams, noodles, honey, syrup, relishes, sausage, cheese, eggs, chocolates and whatever else I can't think of at the moment. There is an animal petting area for the kiddies which includes Big Ben, the biggest darn horse this city girl has ever seen. For real, BIG. Along the winding way, other sites include the longest covered bridge and Killbuck Marsh, wetlands. Oh and if you can't resist, there is always the traditional tourist trap in Berlin. I feel like I must say this......please be respectful of the Amish. They do not like to have their picture taken. Maybe a buggy shot would work instead.

The lady informed me that they was staying away from the "modern" collections. Only problem is most of these decanters are from 1980 and before. Quite a few very rare and expensive collectors items from the member only jim beam club. I had a professional appraiser tell me that the collection would sell between 10 and 25k dollars at an auction. If you have anything that you want auctioned off i would advise you to go to Kikos auction house. the lack of knowledge from this place is astounding.

Being a plus member has its benefits. You can save searches in the app, get your stuff before it gets crazy busy, and get to check the bin section out 2 hours before it opens to the public. The bin section is great for things you didn't know you need, you can find the most random stuff there and easily become a hoarder. Stuff is $7 on Monday, $5, $3, $1, .50 on Friday. Wear gloves! Check your items to make sure they match the condition listed at the testing center before you leave. The workers are friendly and will gladly help you!

However, I have tried emailing Jeff several times just asking for a status on the remainder of my items and I get an I'll check on the status of things and don't hear back. It's been over two years since I first dropped off the collectibles and antiques with Homestead Auctions. A simple update from time to time would be nice as I originally dropped off 35 items and even had an itemized list of these items and to date only 7 of the items have been sold that I am aware of. The estimated value of all 35 items were between $500-$1500 if all of them were sold.

I have so many complaints about Mr. Jeffery Prinz and his handling of our business…read more To begin we took a bunch of our property to Homestead Auction in late May or early in June of 2025. On that day he stated that it would take about 2 months to sell everything that we took to him. It has now been over 3 months since we first took everything to him. He hasn't even listed any of our property in his auctions since August 16th. He doesn't put any effort in selling this stuff. For example, I took him over 650 diecast toy cars. Half were still in the package and half were not. The ones out of the packages were in cases of 48 cars each. He just opened the case and took a couple of pictures. He listed the whole case of 48 cars for a starting bid of $5. Well because you really couldn't see the cars, most of them sold for that $5. He also sold cars from other people in the same auction, but they were laid out in 4 rows of 5 cars, or lots of 20 for the same Starting bid of $5. I end up getting about 7 cents per car that I took to him. I contacted Mr. Printz on August 18th about getting the money due to me. He stated that he hadn't yet reconciled his books and hasn't yet been paid from those sales and told me to wait until August 25th. I explained to him that I would be out of town then. I contacted him again today, September 5th. about payment. He said that I will have to wait until September 15th. 3 weeks after he was originally promised to pay me and a month since he last sold any of my stuff. Mr. Printz isn't a very honest person. Very deceptive and looks to take advantage of people. I would not recommend Homestead Auctions, In fact I intend to discourage everyone from dealing with him for as long as I'm capable. This is just the beginning.

Honestly? Where do I start!…read more The location, room size, amenities, neighbors, and management are beyond amazing here. I looked for apartments all around Akron and I can say I have not regretted my choice to come to Portage Trail East. On top of being the best bang for your buck, the building is made of concrete, so it's quiet! You can't hear your neighbors talking in the room next to you and you can't hear the neighbor's stomping above you either! The building itself is located under a minute away from RT 8, so it's awesome for commuting to Kent, Cleveland, or Akron! The people that live here all get background checked so it's been an awesome experience having such nice and cultured and understanding neighbors, it's amazing and diverse "neighborhood". Now as for the amenities, there's a rec Room with weights, and another room with treadmills and bikes and all that good stuff which saves you hundred a year on a gym membership. Now if the weight room isn't enough to sell you, there's a party room & a sauna! With a pool table, a 60inch flat screen, a full kitchen, a seating area, and it's right by the OUTDOOR pool. And I haven't even mentioned the huge apartments. It's spacious and comfortable living at an amazing cost. If I still haven't managed to convince you to come to these apartments, there's an ace I kept up my sleeve which is by far my favorite part of living here, the management and maintenance. The manager of this building is beyond amazing and goes above and beyond the job description. She's available literaly at any given time and will bend over backwards to make sure you're happy. The maintenance staff is also awesome because they actually fix stuff quickly! I have never had to wait more than 4 hours to get something checked out, and mind you I called at 4 AM. By 8, they had the tools and the replacement fan ready and it was done and over with. I can honestly say that this is the best place to live in Akron, whether you're a family, a student, a professional, or just someone who's looking for a place to enjoy for a few years, Portage Trail East is definitely your go to place around the Akron Area.
