oh boy... they came recommended over other popular carriers like XPO and roadrunner... and my goodness, RL make those lower budget carriers look like rock stars. 5 day eta from Los Angeles, CA to Wilmington, Ohio. We booked it. Arrives in Amarillo, TX on day 5 on a Wednesday, that's HALFWAY to its destination. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Tracking showed no movement; I called in on Thursday. Got mixed answers from their support team. "oh it already left" and "it'll be out tonight"[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Friday, no update to tracking "it hasn't left according to tracking" We told them dispatch said it would... "uh we're not sure"[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We called into Wilmington OH dispatch and they said it "should be on the way, but can't be for certain".[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] dispatch says, it'll hit another terminal first and get scanned in, never does. Another dispatch says it'll arrive on saturday to OH and be scanned in, never does. We needed this pallet delivered on Wednesday (day 5), now we're hoping it will arrive Monday (Day 10). Support says it should arrive Monday in Wilmington, OH, and we'll get it out the door to its final destination same day! Call in on Monday 10 AM EST, tracking shows no scan in yet.... (you'd think they'd unload a truck first thing in the morning if it's been docked since saturday...). Finally shows it's scanned in 30 or so minutes later. Great, it should be out the door! RL - "oh we couldn't find a truck, so this will go out Tuesday." Can you please get this delivered by Tuesday, 10AM EST to its final destination? It's already late and it's urgent. Dispatch says, "Yes, we've marked it red hot." Arrives at 2:45 PM... wow. Receiving warehouse, you're missing 1 out of 5 pallets. Stress. Called into their tracing team to locate the missing pallet. "It's not in Ohio, we'll keep tracing it back. " Can't find it in TX, can't find it in CA. 30 hours later, jk it's been in Ohio the entire time. Do you know how incompetent the warehouse team at RL has to be to unload 5 pallets and then misplace 1 of them, all within a day, when it should stay in its outgoing staging area and to go back out the door? The irresponsibility and incompetence this company has shown in managing 5 simple pallets is outrageous. We do not recommend them at all. ZERO STARS! I have no idea how this company is still in business. I ordered apx $12K worth of equipment from Ohio to be delivered to SoCal. The equipment is packaged onto 4 separate pallets. R&L picks up equipment and delivers two pallets to my home. We ordered an $1800 Napoleon Rogue proS 625 grill from bbq guys. The delivery company (R&L Carriers out of OHIO) they used left it on the shared road before our driveway by our monuments. They dumped it in between the woods and our driveway and then cut the plastic that adheres it to the pallet (big mistake) leaving my husband and I trying to figure out how to get it up the rest of the 600 feet of driveway up hill to our home. It is a WIDE driveway that can accommodate a large 18 wheeler (our moving truck easily backed up the driveway) and did NOT deliver it to our garage area at all. We found the package slip from the delivery people inside that said "RESIDENTIAL DELIVERY" which the delivery company said "we don't go on private property" WHAA??? The pallets are located inside a garage at a residence with a gravel driveway. Above info was very clearly stated to the company ahead of time in order to assure they would supply correct equipment to safely retrieve the pallets from the garage down the driveway into the truck. The 1st two attempts of pick up resulted in failed attempts due to the drivers not being properly equipped and NOT being made aware of the gravel driveway situation.. I had a very bad experience with R&L Carriers. Flooring was being sent to my new home. It took 3 tries to receive the delivery. The first mistake was caused by the scheduling department. I spoke to an agent and was told I was scheduled. However, she didn't put the order into the system. I hired a couple of helpers to unload the flooring when arriving at my home who waited for several hours So I then set up another delivery. Delivery was scheduled but the product didn't show up. When I called, they let me know the product was not put on the truck that morning. No one called me to explain so I found out by calling when the delivery was two hours late. Once again I paid for a couple of helpers to be at my home to unload Finally after getting in touch with Jeff the terminal manager, on the third try I got the product. As I hired two people to help me with the unloading, paid for three days of work when I should have only paid for one. The two non-deliveries cost me an extra $300 I spoke to R&L and asked for some sort of reimbursement . They denied the request even after acknowledging the debacles I cannot recommend R&L. Poor communication. Poor follow-through. And, not willing to take financial responsibility for egregious mistakes which cost their customers out-of-pocket expenses So, when using R&L Carriers beware. read more

The driver arrived and informed us that he was not provided with the correct equipment to deliver our purchase into our office and that he would need to "leave it in the parking lot" of a highly trafficked commercial parking lot. This after he told us there was no ramp into the building and we pointed out three ramps, one within 25 feet of his truck and another area of access that was 50 feet long that required no ramp. if your are a company looking for a professional trucking and transportation company, do yourself a favor and pass on R&L carriers. This is the worst freight company in Southern California, and it doesn't even come close. Every time I've had to deal with them I've had some issue. But I'll go over the last one on 03/03/2025. I ordered a new HVAC system (several thousand dollars). They schedule the delivery between 8am and 3pm. It's a vacant house, so I make sure someone is there all day to receive the order. At 4pm, I call to ask where the delivery is? They tell me it's close and will be there within 2 hours and that they'll text me beforehand. I ask for a specific time since it's already an hour past the delivery window . The lady on the phone hangs up. I call back and ask for the supervisor. The man who answers puts me on hold, except he forgets to mute the call. I can hear the agent who hung up on me mocking me, laughing while telling him about the call. Back to the delivery: No call. No text. Mind you, the company is required to personally deliver and get a signature from the recipient, as well as have them inspect for damage and sign off. We leave the house after the 2 hour window passes (remember, it was to be delivered no later than 3pm and it's already past 7pm at this point). They drop the delivery off at almost 8pm, while no one is home, without a signature, and leave it sitting in the driveway. This is a vacant house in Southern California and they dump thousands of dollars of goods in the driveway for anyone driving by to steal. The most incompetent company and employees you could possible encounter. If you're getting a freight delivery, you might want to check if R&L Carriers is the carrier and rethink your purchase. read more

They were not delivering to me but the driver was attempting to turn around. He trespassed onto our private, very narrow driveway with no way to turn around. In the process of attempting to back up, he not only damaged a tree but drove off the edge of our newly placed asphalt. He damaged the asphalt (to fix will be over $3000) and displaced the gravel. 2 different deliveries. Missed the delivery date both times. First one (last week), driver didn't make it back in time to deliver ours. Second time, product is at their warehouse in St. Louis on Thursday. Still not getting it today (Monday)...truck was to full so I got bumped, hopefully I'll get it Tuesday. This is a dock to dock delivery, I'm 30 minutes from St. Louis, next to a major highway. Customer services is very polite though. David & Miguel were the best! My shipment was delivered on time. These two workers were so courteous, helpful, went above and beyond the call of duty. They were only supposed to drop off my box at the end of the driveway, but they moved it to the head of the driveway and help me open the crate and even helped take away some of the recyclable materials.
