ZERO STARS! I have no idea how this company is still in business. I ordered apx $12K worth of equipment from Ohio to be delivered to SoCal. The equipment is packaged onto 4 separate pallets. R&L picks up equipment and delivers two pallets to my home. I ask the driver where the remainder of my order is (apx $6K worth of goods) and he has no idea. Hours later on the call with customer service I come to learn that the driver leaving the R&L hub in Willmington forgot to load 2 pallets onto the truck. Now I'm stuck taking a second day off of work. And this isn't even where it stops. On the SECOND trip from Willmington to SoCal, the driver only loads one of my two remaining pallets. You'd figure they wouldn't repeat the same exact mistake twice in a row on the same exact order. Now I'm forced to take a third day off work to receive my packages. Drivers are incompetent. Customer service is incompetent. No attempt to remedy the situation. Zero recourse. If you're a Company that uses R&L for freight delivery services, I strongly urge you to reconsider this vendor. read more

I ordered a fuel tank that was being delivered by R&L Carriers and specifically left instructions to contact me an hour before delivery because my shop is separate from my home and located near other businesses. I was preparing to head out of state for the week and decided to stop by my shop to make sure everything was secured, only to find my package sitting outside directly in front of a bay door where anyone driving by could have easily picked it up and stolen it. I was never contacted by phone, text, or email despite the delivery instructions being clearly provided. Trucking companies are paid good money for these deliveries and should follow customer instructions, especially when it comes to expensive items being left unattended. 0 stars for this company. Complete lack of accountability and very poor communication across channels. A pick up was scheduled for a residence of 2 pallets of vintage magazines. The pallets are located inside a garage at a residence with a gravel driveway. Above info was very clearly stated to the company ahead of time in order to assure they would supply correct equipment to safely retrieve the pallets from the garage down the driveway into the truck. The 1st two attempts of pick up resulted in failed attempts due to the drivers not being properly equipped and NOT being made aware of the gravel driveway situation.. very poor communication across channels and nothing but excuses as an explanation. After the second attempt, hours were invested communicating to call centers, dispatch, and a main supervisor discussing said situation and, after plenty of "back and forth," hence came up with a "solution" which would result in a supposed agreed upon 3rd pick up attempt. At this point, it seems like there's finally a little light at the end of this tunnel. Fast forward to the day of 3rd delivery attempt, I get a call from the manager of the local facility, whose name is Jeff (he sounds like a retired mafioso who, frankly, just doesn't care). Jeff says he's cancelling the whole pick up due to liability issues, and then says that picking up from a garage up a driveway is an "extra charge" and asks if that's been paid for. Super rude! He then proceeds to gaslight saying that it was the customers' fault (mine and the company who hired r&l for the pickup) for not explaining the gravel driveway in the first place and that we were deceiving. It's OUR responsibility to get pallets onto a street and not be lazy. Excuse me? I have plenty of records acknowledging gravel driveway communication. I explained to mafioso Jeff that online reviews are there for a reason, and he said he "didn't care". I must say nothing like getting your delivery a whole week earlier and on top of that the delivery guy knows what he doing. The driver David Ratliff this guy was cool, professional and very quick on his feet. This guy knew exactly where to put my boxes without me telling him. On top of that you can tell he takes his job serious. It's workers like David that are true Assets to the company. I'll start by saying, O Stars. This company not only delivered my item 3 weeks late, but damaged. I have piictures where it look like they left my item in the rain, and than ran over the box several time. From the start my item was supposed to be shipped from Mississippi to Louisiana, but ended up in Seattle, I can't make this up, than to top it off missing 2 of the 4 doors that was ordered. Horrible service. Delivery was supposed to be Tuesday, they rescheduled for Thursday. It's now Thursday, someone called and told me the driver forgot to load the shipment and all drivers now left. I asked for a manager because I'm trying to run a business with time limits, a couple of hours later I received a call again, the agent tells me that manager can't do anything, and that the manager went home already. Dropped a pallet of flooring for our dog rescue center in the middle of my driveway 500 feet from the destination. (Paid for residential delivery). We have many other deliveries to our property - lumber, roofing, etc. This isn't an access issue. Called carrier 5 minutes after it was dropped and they said they'd send the driver back out before end of shift. They did not. Called back next morning and they said they'd completed their service, basically tough shit. 4 phone calls total - the first two were friendly and said they would resolve the issue (they did not) the second two were douche-canoes. read more

I had a very bad experience with R&L Carriers. Flooring was being sent to my new home. It took 3 tries to receive the delivery. The first mistake was caused by the scheduling department. I spoke to an agent and was told I was scheduled. However, she didn't put the order into the system. I hired a couple of helpers to unload the flooring when arriving at my home who waited for several hours So I then set up another delivery. Delivery was scheduled but the product didn't show up. When I called, they let me know the product was not put on the truck that morning. No one called me to explain so I found out by calling when the delivery was two hours late. Once again I paid for a couple of helpers to be at my home to unload Finally after getting in touch with Jeff the terminal manager, on the third try I got the product. As I hired two people to help me with the unloading, paid for three days of work when I should have only paid for one. The two non-deliveries cost me an extra $300 I spoke to R&L and asked for some sort of reimbursement . They denied the request even after acknowledging the debacles I cannot recommend R&L. Poor communication. Poor follow-through. And, not willing to take financial responsibility for egregious mistakes which cost their customers out-of-pocket expenses So, when using R&L Carriers beware. read more

Got a message on the 6th stating, shipment would arrive on the 8th between 11 and 4. At my home address... Told the place I bought it for, the address to ship it to.. Somehow that address got lost.. ( I don't have tractor & trailer access at my home address) called R&L the next morning, the 7th, to get this straightened out.. Lady said she would get it took care of, called me later that day.. was taken care of...will be delivered tomorrow (the 8th) between 11 and 3... NOT !! Called them back the next morning (the 9th. on a Friday) she said it would be the 12th(Money) ..Now why couldn't they have delivered it on the 8th. The driver arrived and informed us that he was not provided with the correct equipment to deliver our purchase into our office and that he would need to "leave it in the parking lot" of a highly trafficked commercial parking lot. This after he told us there was no ramp into the building and we pointed out three ramps, one within 25 feet of his truck and another area of access that was 50 feet long that required no ramp. if your are a company looking for a professional trucking and transportation company, do yourself a favor and pass on R&L carriers. This is the worst freight company in Southern California, and it doesn't even come close. Every time I've had to deal with them I've had some issue. But I'll go over the last one on 03/03/2025. I ordered a new HVAC system (several thousand dollars). They schedule the delivery between 8am and 3pm. It's a vacant house, so I make sure someone is there all day to receive the order. At 4pm, I call to ask where the delivery is? They tell me it's close and will be there within 2 hours and that they'll text me beforehand. I ask for a specific time since it's already an hour past the delivery window . The lady on the phone hangs up. I call back and ask for the supervisor. The man who answers puts me on hold, except he forgets to mute the call. I can hear the agent who hung up on me mocking me, laughing while telling him about the call. Back to the delivery: No call. No text. Mind you, the company is required to personally deliver and get a signature from the recipient, as well as have them inspect for damage and sign off. We leave the house after the 2 hour window passes (remember, it was to be delivered no later than 3pm and it's already past 7pm at this point). They drop the delivery off at almost 8pm, while no one is home, without a signature, and leave it sitting in the driveway. This is a vacant house in Southern California and they dump thousands of dollars of goods in the driveway for anyone driving by to steal. The most incompetent company and employees you could possible encounter. If you're getting a freight delivery, you might want to check if R&L Carriers is the carrier and rethink your purchase. read more

You should ask any company if they use R+L before purchasing anything, because let me tell you the experience is enough to make me shop somewhere else. They are incredibly rude and difficult to deal with. They don't allow you to reschedule a delivery and make you sit around for an 8 hour delivery window. They said they can only be in possession of the shipment for 48 hours... so if they schedule it when you cannot be available (such as on business travel) you are SOL. DO NOT EVER USE THIS COMPANY. I have never left a negative review. However, my experience with RL Carriers has been the worst. They were not delivering to me but the driver was attempting to turn around. He trespassed onto our private, very narrow driveway with no way to turn around. In the process of attempting to back up, he not only damaged a tree but drove off the edge of our newly placed asphalt. He damaged the asphalt (to fix will be over $3000) and displaced the gravel. I called and was directed to fill out a claim form. I had pictures, email statements from neighbors who heard and saw the damage. I was told by the person in charge of claims that the damages were "alleged" and they denied the claim. Never use them if possible and I hope they never trespass on your property. read more

2 different deliveries. Missed the delivery date both times. First one (last week), driver didn't make it back in time to deliver ours. Second time, product is at their warehouse in St. Louis on Thursday. Still not getting it today (Monday)...truck was to full so I got bumped, hopefully I'll get it Tuesday. This is a dock to dock delivery, I'm 30 minutes from St. Louis, next to a major highway. Customer services is very polite though. David & Miguel were the best! My shipment was delivered on time. These two workers were so courteous, helpful, went above and beyond the call of duty. They were only supposed to drop off my box at the end of the driveway, but they moved it to the head of the driveway and help me open the crate and even helped take away some of the recyclable materials. They gave me a window from 11am-4pm. I show up to my warehouse 30 minutes early to find my generator blocking my door. Again, no call.
