The food was excellent. We especially liked the BBQ burnt ends. They were melt in your mouth. The owner and her family were really nice and hospitable to my nephew and me. It's a friendly place. R&R was the halfway point for us both so we met there for lunch. Stayed three hours without a problem. The owner had just baked fresh cookies and gave us some. The portions were very lame. We ordered a brisket dinner to go and when my husband brought it home he was furious!! The brisket was cut in very thin strips and only 3 1/2 pieces. It was not melt in your mouth. We will never ever go again. Very disappointed. read more

We've tried this place a couple times over the last year since moving to the area and really try to support our local businesses but this place is just terrible. The portions are tiny for the price, the meats are dry (my 'pork steak' dinner consisted of three small pieces of pork shoulder and not what would be considered a traditional midwest bone in 'steak'. The sides are mediocre at best. The final mark down for me is eating with the cheapest available plastic dinnerware on a styrofoam plate. The two stars is only for the gal who took our order and kept us in drinks. Much better bbq at Shawnee Mound in Clinton, Hilltop in Warsaw, or our preferred Sugarfoot in Osceola. I'd recommend the food truck on 7 hwy and PP in Tightwad but there's never any telling of they'll be open or not. Mostly we just make trips to KC for our bbq fix. read more

Beggars can't be choosers when you are in the middle of nowhere, but the BBQ here was actually pretty decent all things considered. It won't hold a candle to many of the more marquee establishments up in KC, but it will do the job in a pinch. The burnt ends were just a little dry, but not too bad. Beans here have a bit of a sweet flavor to them (I suspect from brown sugar) and fries are long and skinny similar to what you would find at steak n shake. The staff was quite friendly, and there is ample parking to be had out front. Prices are a bit steep to be honest considering the quality of the food, but my guess is this place is hanging it's hopes on the transit nature of the area and the vacationers who flock to the area in the warmer months for the lake. read more

Being from the Kansas City area and eating excellent BBQ from there and all over the country, we tried R&R BBQ for the first time. Overall the quality of the food was very good. We tried one of the sampler dinners with brisket, pulled pork, burnt ends and ribs. All of the meats were very tender and had good flavor. I would suggest a little more rub during the smoke. It is obvious the "pit master" has some good skills and knows how to "smoke some meat"! The size of the portions in the sampler could easily feed four people. We will definitely be trying again in the future. read more

We have eaten here in past years and was good. We came back to lake in June 2021 with Friends and ordered the smoked chicken and sides. It was terrible. We left most of food on our plates. Chicken was like reheated, was crispy and dry not smoked and moist like previous years. Also sides-out of potato salad, green beans were the french cut and horrible. My friend ended up in bathroom all day. We went for lunch. Only 1 other couple was there eating. We should have taken the hint. read more
