I hired a truck and labor to pick up a sofa in lillington and deliver to our home in spring lake. They were able to fit us in the next day since they would already be in the area. They let me know when they were 20 minutes away from the pickup point and then when they were on the way to deliver. The guys were very kind and careful. Instead of simply turning around and moving (which would take a maximum of 3 minutes), they left. I waited outside in the rain for them thinking they were going to turn around the block, but when we called, they said they didn't want our business. I understand there might have been a miscommunication, but they were rude and inconsiderate. However, they were horribly inefficient. It took a four man crew twice as long to move us out of the apartment as it had taken a 2 man crew to move us into the apartment with the same amount of stuff. Also, we had some bags with personal items in a corner that we said we would move ourselves. They insisted multiple times they needed the bags to use as filler in the truck, and when we finally said ok it took extra time for them to use an unnecessary amount of tape on the bags. Furthermore, we had a couch in the bedroom and this crew could not figure out how to move my couch without taking the bedroom door off its hinges- the whole process took an hour, which was problematic as we were paying $225 an hour. That couch has been through six moves with me- 2 of those times I personally moved with the help of an older uncle and it has never taken an hour to move because it's not a terribly heavy couch. In addition to the inefficiencies, we still have bookshelves, a glass insert, and a remote control that they packed up missing. Lastly, I had several boxes marked fragile in big, bold letters and the crew stacked heavy boxes on top of my fragile items.
