During the…read moreprocess, he didn't use proper methods to assure even pressure when setting set the crown correctly, and caused me severe discomfort, lost hours of sleep, and many additional visits that took time from work. In addition, he did not listen to my comments regarding my tooth and discomfort, which meant he misdiagnosed my pain and delayed the corrective action I needed. Eventually I was forced to find another dentist, get a root canal, and have the second dentist re-apply a new crown. Thanks to Dr. Comer, I was able to gain the experience of getting a crown put on twice (because he did it incorrectly the first time), have a root canal (because he spent two hours grinding on the molar after taking off the first "permanent" crown and irreversibly irritated the nerves in that tooth), and spent about $1,900 on top of the cost for the initial crown. He refused to respond to any communication after all of this and doesn't acknowledge any blame. AVOID THIS DENTIST

Unfortunately, after more than 14 months of treatment, I can honestly say this has been one of the most frustrating healthcare experiences I have ever had. My biggest issue with Dr. T was the complete lack of communication, lack of empathy, and lack of a clear treatment plan. From the beginning, I repeatedly asked what the plan was, what the timeline looked like, what the next steps were, and what I should be preparing for. I rarely received direct answers. Instead, I often left appointments more confused, stressed, and frustrated than when I arrived. There were multiple times I left in tears because I could not get straightforward information about what was happening with my own treatment. The tooth involved was in a highly visible area. From day one, I made it very clear that I was not willing to be without a visible tooth. I am a mother of multiple young children, and I repeatedly explained my concerns. At one point during my pregnancy, my understanding was that the recommendation would leave me without a visible tooth through delivery and postpartum recovery. That was unacceptable to me, and i made that clear. Part of the treatment delay was later blamed on my pregnancy despite my OB providing clearance for necessary dental treatment. To this day, I still do not feel I was given a clear explanation for many of the delays that occurred. One of the most frustrating aspects of this entire process was the constant lack of direction. At nearly every appointment, I asked what came next. I specifically asked multiple times when I needed to have a dentist selected to complete the restorative portion of my implant. I was told not to worry about it because we were not at that stage. Later, I was questioned about why I did not already have a dentist selected because it should have been done by now. That type of conflicting information was a recurring theme throughout my treatment. I also requested on two separate occasions that my records and imaging be shared with other dental professionals so I could obtain additional opinions and better understand my options before moving forward with such a significant procedure. Those requests were discouraged. As a patient, I should never have felt discouraged from seeking additional information or outside opinions. From the beginning, I questioned whether the treatment path being recommended was truly my only option. Because I was unable to get the collaboration and guidance I was asking for, I never felt confident that all alternatives had been fully explored or explained. When the implant was placed, I was also not properly informed about what recovery would look like. The amount of facial swelling I experienced was shocking. Had I been properly prepared, I would have known what to expect. Instead, when I raised concerns, I felt like the assumption was immediately that I had somehow failed to follow instructions rather than my concerns being taken seriously. There were also multiple interactions that I found unprofessional. I witnessed staff members being spoken to in a way that came across as dismissive and condescending. Respect should apply to everyone in an office, regardless of title. The comment that best summarizes my experience happened when I expressed concerns about being without a visible tooth because of my children. I explained that my four-year-old would absolutely notice and comment on it because, like most four-year-olds, she is brutally honest. Dr. T's response was that perhaps I should teach my child not to be rude. Rather than acknowledging my concern, I felt dismissed. After more than 14 months, I am still not finished with treatment. My frustration is not that dental treatment takes time. My frustration is that after more than a year, I still feel there was no clear roadmap, poor communication, conflicting information, little empathy, and very little respect for the concerns I repeatedly raised. I waited a long time to write this review because I wanted to be fair. Unfortunately, the longer this process continued, the more my concerns were reinforced. Patients deserve clear communication, realistic expectations, empathy, and respect. That was not my experience.

This is HANDS DOWN a great place with personable and professional doctors and assistants! I'd choose this place any day over AOMS. Here you are not just a number. Dr. Douthitt was extremely personable, very kind, and truly took interest in our 12-year old. He also set our kids at ease with this procedure, which was kinda a big deal in our world. (It took us by surprise!) But he was very reassuring and had great "bedside manner." The office staff and dental assistants were equally amiable. I'm thankful we were told to come here, because although I made many phone calls and had several referrals to other offices--- this one is by far the best! I recommend this place, please keep in mind-- the costs are not exorbitant but the service is OUTSTANDING! WOW! Thanks again for treating our 12-year-old so well! They would get ZERO STARS if it was up to me. Let me explain, I made an appointment face to face in their office months ago for July 21st at 12:00. Simple enough. Took off work for the appointment. I get a text last Wednesday at 12:22AM to "confirm" my appointment. I don't know about you but I'm not replying to a text I received in the middle of the night or any subsequent message there after. Not to mention that as an adult I shouldn't have to confirm an appointment I already confirmed when I made it. If I don't need it or can't make it I will cancel it. Well, they know better than you or me so they cancelled my appointment for me. They have a $50 fee if you confirm but don't show. They have a 100% of appointment cost if you opt out of their text confirmation system that texts you in the middle of the night and you fail to show. Guess what you get if THEY CANCEL YOUR APPOINTMENT THAT YOU TOOK OFF WORK FOR..... nothing of course. Just inconvenience, loss of pay, rude lifeless commentary and, for me, the task of finding a new dentist because I don't put up with this nonsense. I didn't fail to show up to my appointment or do anything wrong. I just made them the slightest bit uncertain that they maybe might not have a butt in their seat and the $$$$ they so dearly covet because I didn't respond to a 12:22AM TEXT MESSAGE. Mind you, I never received an actual phone call! Can you imagine being so money hungry and so greedy that even the thought of you missing your appointment sends terror and fear of lost $$$$. These people are self serving trash and if you miss one of their hoops too bad. Even if your appointment still isn't for another 23 hours you lose because serving you is not in their wheelhouse. They only serve the money god. I actually reached out to them and spoke with some soulless husk of an office crone just to try and hash it out since it's still almost 24 hours until my actual appointment and the answer was too bad for you and you can reschedule. I had actually heard good things about them and that's why I started going there but it's been the opposite experience. It's one thing after another with these money hungry ghouls. Beware.

We had a horrible visit with my 8 yr old who had an abscessed tooth. They referred us to a peds dentist and assured us we would be seen and they had more options for sedation. Sheman's office staff did not get the correct information from the other office and sent me to them with a kid who was in pain and recently numbed. Due to Sheman's staff my son did not have the work done and was left in pain until we could get another appointment. When I was upset in the office (after dealing with my hurt & upset child) the office staff thought it was funny?!? The lack of professionalism in their office staff was unnerving! This is the 3rd time I have had issues with the staff. The first time was for procedures done that were not covered by my insurance (which is excellent btw) leaving me with a shocking $500+ bill. The 2nd time I was assured I would only be billed about $40 extra on a cleaning visit (which are normally free with my insurance), but was actually billed an additional $150!!!! If you are willing to spend the big bucks out if pocket, then go for it the Doc is awesome, but DO NOT count on his staff to give you correct information or follow through!

The dentist introduced himself as "Dan". I immediately felt a whole lot less anxious about the upcoming oral surgery. I was wide awake during the whole thing. Dr. Dan was very concerned about any discomfort I might be experiencing. The whole thing took less than 30 minutes. Their concern for my well-being was incredible. I highly recommend these folks.

Office is very clean and nice The dental assistant/nurse during my surgery was great as well. She was kind and made sure everything went smoothly. I survived surgery ! Great instructions given post surgery to help healing and recovery. Cons: The front office staff. They honestly just aren't really friendly. I originally scheduled with Dr. Atkins. This was the doctor that my regular dentist originally wanted me to see. I called myself the week prior to the initial appointment to schedule with Dr. Atkins. I didn't find out until the day of my 1st appointment that I wasn't going to see him. I called and asked why I was switched and all they stated was " we can reschedule you if you want ". No other rationale other than I could reschedule to see Dr. Atkins. This unfortunately made me distrust this practice right off the bat. I had already taken off work that day so I decided to go ahead and just go and see the other doctor. He ended up being great but I still feel like the office staff was in the wrong. When you go to check in the office staff are very straight to the point and only interested in your insurance information or obtaining payment. They really don't smile. They seem to lack empathy and lack customer service/kindness. I would send them all to Chick-Fil-A for a week to do some training. lol. I also received a surprise call from the office 6 months post surgery about owing additional money. I guess they had billed my insurance and it took this long for them to realize they needed a little more money from me. I was under the impression that everything was 100% payed for when I left that day after surgery. I understand dealing with insurance can take time and be difficult so I just paid it and moved on with my life. I would recommend this oral and maxillary surgery practice. I do believe the doctors are very good and this is why my dentist sent me to them. The nurses/dental assistants were very good as well. The front desk office staff ( aka, the face of your business ) unfortunately lacked in my opinion but the good news is they aren't the ones doing surgery on you ! :)

Just like a normal child, he was scared. They refused to work with him to calm him down. They suggested that I needed to "educate him" and we were rescheduled. I was so mad when I got home I was in tears. The dental assistant called a few days before our new appointment to see if I had "educated" him on the process. When we got to our new appointment, my son was so scared he wouldn't even sit in the chair or let them take his BP. Instead of calming him down the assistant got loud with him and told him several times that he needed to "act right", because I guess he wasn't acting like a typical scared 6 year old.
