You can tell immediately R D's is a local favorite. The restaurant was filled with high school athletes and Page stalwarts. I tried out their chicken tostada salad and it was pretty good. Nothing fancy but it hit the spot. Their fry sauce was a neat concoction. I'm guessing it's a mixture of ketchup and thousand island dressing with a hint of honey. A specialty condiment R D's is known for I'm sure. My only con is that I wished the jukebox and arcade machines worked. read more

Get the chili cheese burger for sure if you come here. It is a No-Frills classical hamburger with a big ole slice of green chili on it that really hits the spot. The combo came with some crispy fries and a small fountain drink which by the way they do not allow refills on for free. On the side I got a couple of corn dogs which were fried up crispy and went amazing with the fry sauce that they have on the counter. Fry sauce is just a combination of ketchup and mayonnaise and some places they put paprika & pickle relish in it however this place I believe is just ketchup and mayonnaise. It gets packed around lunch time so plan to come here at 11 or so if you want to avoid the lines and grab some quick grub before you head out to Antelope Canyon. read more

This older drive-in is a fixture in Page. Located between Fiesta Mexicana and Big John's Texas BBQ, all these restaurants are open a little later and are the hub of late night activity for vacationing families. You can get burgers, some very basic Mexican food and soft serve ice cream at RD's. Meals are basic... you'll get standard drive-in burger fare that's neither here nor there. Because of its simplicity and price, it can be a good choice for families. We spent less than $60 for our family of 6. Half the family had shakes or ice cream for that price. Service is perfunctory at best. Some mid-century architecture enthusiasts will note this was an open A-frame at one time...it seems the desert sun necessitated the eaves that now break the original lines. read more

Overall disappointed, long lines, staff were not friendly. They served the drinks before we got our food. By the time you get your food, the drinks are water down or finished. We ordered the fish fillet 3 piece, we only got 2 pieces and the fish fillets were still frozen/cold in the middle. We went looking for ice cream and saw that this place had some so we came in, it's a small place with a drive thru, pretty cool. I got the watermelon soft serve but tasted nothing like watermelon, more like vanilla with red swirls. My daughters got the raspberry and strawberry sundaes, those were good and one scoop was just enough. My husband got the peanut butter shake and we ate inside. Fabulous find! We stumbled upon this place because we needed to stop for gas. As we drove down main street I saw the sign for R D's Drive In and just felt like we had to eat there. As we got closer we saw the parking lot was jam packed! I watched R.D.'s parking lot from where we stopped as my guy pumped gas and ran into pick up a few things. It was 1:30pm on a Monday and the traffic was non-stop. And not just tourists, I could tell R.D.'s customers were locals. We ordered a couple corn dogs, onion rings, tater tots, and a green chili cheeseburger and everything was great! We took our food to go and got back on the road. The aroma of green chili's filled the car almost immediately. It was clear these chili's where not out of a can. They were nice big chunks of roasted green chili's. We enjoyed the onion rings too! Fresh, crispy and NOT dripping with grease. I would gladly eat R D's food again and if I find another reason to pass thru Page AZ. we'll be back. R D's is a classic small town place, full of all the things we grew up eating and worth the flashback to childhood and a simpler time. read more

This is a unique establishment in a small town like Page, and after receiving a recommendation for it, my wife and I decided to give it a try. We came for breakfast and both got breakfast burritos, mine was with hash. The burritos were not bad, and were definitely worth the price. The salsa that came with the burritos made it taste much better. I also ordered a breakfast sandwich (egg, bacon, cheese) to go, which turned out to be worth the price as well. The coffee was only $1 and tasted pretty decent. My favorite part about this place was the milkshake. I got a raspberry milkshake, because it's hard for me to say no to milkshakes. I wasn't disappointed here, and it was a good decision. The service was very nice and friendly, but the restaurant itself could be cleaned a dusted a little more frequently, in my opinion. The green chili cheeseburger and the fries must be counted as successful since neither required ketchup. And even if the fry sauce is just ketchup mixed with mayo it worked pretty well. The best item was the banana milkshake with actual banana fragments; makes you wonder why this isn't attempted more often. A star is deducted for the insulting sign near the drive-up, plainly visible at the front, that instructs workers to refrain from giving condiments unless asked, citing "trade studies" about customer waste of such items. read more

I can't believe this hasn't been reviewed yet... This place is one of those old school greasy spoon type spots that you see on old TV shows (or for those my age, like Al's on Happy Days) where you can get ice cream (soft serve) from baby sized to ginormous sized: dipped, not dipped with toppings without, sundaes, banana splits milkshakes, french fries, tacos, burgers and hot dogs. Inside seating is tight (brother in law got a shake spilled down his back by a teenager carrying food trays (with drinks) back to the family) and the line was long when we were there in both the drive-thru and inside. It is open late in the summer with some outside seating and is in the heart of Downtown Page. The place is kind of dingy and the service a little surly but I swear, I had a pretty darn good banana milkshake and husband had a decent banana split (all vanilla ice cream though). I would come back here if I am ever in Page again and since it is closer than Sonic AND it is a mom and pop, suggest you try it out too! read more

Well I will say I was surprised on the freshness, quality and price, all were good. Service was OK, a smile goes a long way. really? no reviews??? wow. first off i grew up in page, az most of my childhood. we always wanted rd's for the hamburgers, fries with FRYSAUCE, sundaes, etc. it's a small mom/pop kinda place. honestly, i've only eaten the double deluxe hamburger combo with large fries (with frysauce) and a large pepsi. the burger is okay but the fries and frysauce make up for the burger. not only is this place a hot spot for locals but during the summer (page is a tourist town) this place gets packed. inside seating is a little tight but there is permanent seating outside too. prices are great too. well, enjoy your food and i hope some of you review rd's on more menu items other than the double deluxe hamburger combo. damn, i need some fries with frysauce! read more

This review is for RD at South Powell and South Navajo. The food is great and price is reasonable. Try to avoid coming at 12pm as the place will have long line as students across the street flooded this place for their lunch break. We had chilli, corn dog, chicken burger, supra buritto, fries, rootbeer freezes, and taco. All of the taste great except for the taco is lacking of jalepeno. After touring the lower Antelope Canyon we decided to stop here for lunch. We had read the reviews and wanted something local and simple. I ordered the single hamburger and my husband ordered the double. I have to say these hamburgers were the best. They tasted like the ones we make at home. The service was quick. Now the place is not fancy but was clean and several locals were there eating. I wanted one of their shakes but decided to wait until after our next tour. After the tour we went back and got shakes. Walked in and the tables were dirty. Super hesitant at that point but the husband loves a good diner. Ended up getting the green chile cheeseburger and the mushroom burger meal. The food was good. Fries were very good! Thick potato slices, not terribly salty or greasy...yum! It is your typical diner and the place picked up quite a bit when we were there.
