I've been in intouch with DuChene twice in the last year. Both times have left me frustrated and happily searching out their competitors. The first time it was to have new skylights installed. The woman who answered the phone told me it would be four weeks before an estimator could pop by the house and have a look. I said that's fine the skylight is leaking can we go ahead and schedule the work for 5 weeks? No! The estimate must be done before any scheduling can take place. Today I called to have someone come look at my roof to let me know if I need a new roof as well as a couple fascia repairs and new gutters. She, the same woman, asked me if it was a repair or new. I told her potentially new. She said they don't do repairs. I said I don't need a repair I may need a new roof. I reiterated that I need gutters, some fascia repairs and want to know if I need a new roof. She told me they will not tell me if I need a new roof. They will only give me an estimate for a new roof. She also said they won't do a job of gutters. There are few good roofing companies in this area...and you likely won't bang your head against the wall after calling to inquire and schedule! read more

Just had the 27 y.o POS cookie cutter Pheonix/Sharp out of square unwrapped house of cards redone with windows,siding, gutters and facia. I could not be happier. After having several of those high pressure kinda guys from the likes of Renewal By Andersham and Power ranger Remodeling, ya know, todays price blah blah blah, RE Duchene showed up, gave me an estimate, talked me through some issues. Very informative about siding selection, had no problem with me picking windows I wanted vs other guys wh only sell one product (junk). If somebody spends 2-3 hours at your kitchen table, demands you and the wife or all decision makers be present, gives you a today only price, and tells you they will do it in a day, RUN FOR YOUR LIFE and call Duchene. I have run construction projects. Im a nitpicker. Every job will have an issue here or there, but you have to expect that. This crew showed up and went to work. The quality of the siding, windows, and craftsmenship was/is top notch. Ya gotta be real people. They are going to remove your windows, peel your siding off, fix whatever lurks unseen, and it can be a bit noisy and unsettling. There is no other way to do it. 4 -5 man crew was here for 4 full days, interrupted by weather once. I like it like that, not some army in here in a rush running each other over. My only complaint is they woke me up at 7 a.m. to get my vehicles out of there way. Seriously worth every penny, pros all the way. read more

I would highly recommend R E Duchene Roofing and Siding. They did my roof and new gutters last year and did an excellent job. I was up on the roof every evening looking at the work they had done. I never found one issue that they had to address. I was in Construction for over 20 years (now to old to do it myself :) and I am very happy with the quality of their work. They also took care of a few small problems that they found without any extra charge. They also kept the work area very clean. Lastly they never once pressured me for a check. We had a terrible wind storm the other day, and I saw some of my shingles flapping in the wind. My home it 2 stories, but I can't get far enough away to see the back side. I was able to see the roofs behind me, and they looked terrible after the storm. I called a friend and he recommended RE DuChene. I called and Ryan showed up within a few hours. He went up there, realized there were just a few loose shingles, nothing major, and glued them down and took care of some nail pops. Great service, super quick, and helpful. Had my entire roof replaced with asphalt shingles. I had special small requests and all of them were fulfilled. The crew was friendly, professional, EARLY and cleaned up after themselves EACH DAY! They answered my "nosy" questions without hesitation and explained anything I didn't understand. They are the only company I got quotes from this time, as for previous homes I had already ran through the locals. I learned from a prior bad choice to just go with the best! Well, its been 4 months now that I have been waiting for them but as of today I am done waiting. End of March I called to get a siding estimate and was told someone would be out (NO ONE CAME) finally about a month after my initial call I heard someone in my back yard and asked them who they were! He said we are from RE Duchene- you called for an estimate- now by this time I called a handyman that was coming out on Saturday (it was Thursday) BUT when the guys from Duchene gave me the estimate I told them I would feel better having a professional in siding do the job and would cancel the handyman and go with Duchene - I was then told they would have to do it on a Saturday which was fine with me - Well, two Saturdays came and went, so I started calling the office again leaving messages only for NO ONE to call me back - WEEKS later I finally called and someone answered the phone I explained what was happening and he said " Oh yes I have your information right in front of me" I said great - the men that came out and gave the estimate were very polite but I have not heard anything - and I just want to make sure they will add one extra piece of siding - He said NO PROBLEM - now the waiting started again NO CALL NO SHOW NOTHING WEEK AFTER WEEK - Fast Forward to JULY - I left a VERY DETAILED message explaining everything I have written here and I added that I hated to write a negative review but wanted to leave one more message before doing so. Well, with that, I FINALLY GOT a call back from someone who claimed to be the owner apologizing but said that my address didn't even come up in the computer ! (But the ONE time I did reach someone he said Oh yes it's right in front of him) So the owner said to me I DO UNDERSTAND you want an answer either way - I said EXACTLY - if you're not doing the work TELL ME - if you ARE doing it TELL ME -- He said well its July 3 (Monday) and the guys are off today and tomorrow (Understandable with the Holiday of course) He said first thing Wednesday morning (July 5th) he was going to talk to the guys that came out and PROMISED to call me back either way right after he talked to them - WELL -- it is now July 12 (A week after that promise and I still have not heard a thing from anyone) So now its time for this review - Also I would like to add - their house (Office) is only about 5 minutes from my home - which also is very bothersome- read more

We highly recommend R E Duchene Roofing. When the owner gave us the estimate I told him we needed 2 layers of roof removed, new roof put on, new soffit, fascia and gutters. Also told him we were not in big hurry. Mr. Duchene even made suggestions on small changes that he felt would improve the look of the fascia and soffit. There was no additional charge for these changes. It did take awhile before they called to schedule which was understandable due to us not being in hurry and the large amount of business they do. Three different crews came out, all were very kind, respectful and clean. Before leaving each day, they (including Mr. Duchene) walked the perimeter of the house and picked up every piece of litter. After the crew finished their part of the job they moved back patio furniture and planters to the original spot. We received 4 estimates, Duchene's estimate was comparable. However, there were some things he did extra which impressed us and sealed the deal. We were very impressed from start to finish, they did a beautiful job and will recommend them to everyone! read more

The initial roof and gutter installation was great and I was very pleased. However I have called four times in four years to get the gutter guards installed. Each time I call the lady tells me they are too busy to help me. Four years to complete the job! Ridiculous. read more

I'm so disappointed. Duchene has been the company we have had work on our home, garage roofing, siding, and flat roofing for 22 years. Today when I returned a call after setting an appointment over two weeks ago to look at replacing the rubber on our leaking flat roof, I was told they won't do our flat roof anymore because we don't need the whole home roof replaced. This was determined by a drive by seeing only the front of the house. I was told, they are too far out to just do a flat roof. The reason we don't need the whole roof done is because they did a good job so many years ago. The flat roof (which is basically one small part on the back of our house) on the other hand needs more regular attention, which up to this point they have always done for us. What I understand them saying is that our job is too small to warrant their attention! It doesn't matter that we have given them our business every other time we needed work and would have definitely had them do the whole home roof when it was needed. read more

You know those clowns that show up after a hailstorm and "fix" your roof? Yeah we had one of those...idiots did not connect roof vents for bathroom fans so come winter time we had brown icicles from condensation in the attic. A quick call to Roy and his crew was here and fixed the issue quickly and reasonably. We were so impressed by Roy that we hired him to do our replacement windows for the entire house including patio door. When his crew was done we found no evidence they'd been here besides the new windows. The floors were swept up inside and the flower beds and lawn picked clean of any construction debris. Competitive pricing and great service means we will use him again if we have another hail storm. read more
