It's…read morelocated in Hearthstone near the country club and is open to the public because it's funded by MUD money. I usually go before 6AM so I can exercise without getting too hot and sweaty. There's very little parking at the actual park and the blacktop is poorly maintained, but I live nearby and can either walk or bring the golf cart. The park is beautifully landscaped and the Hearthstone Garden Club has planted the most amazing flowers and trees. One of the trees is dedicated to my late mother, Carolyn Edwards. There are a few more memorial trees and I feel at peace knowing how much my mother would have loved her tree. On her birthday and Mother's Day I usually bring flowers and place them around the plaque dedicated to her. I'm not sure who, but some other people leave flowers too. I feel so much love when I pass by. The park also has a few different playgrounds for different ages and my grandchildren love them. There's soccer and baseball areas, as well as a couple neatly maintained walking paths. Additionally, there's a water fountain (it's usually not working properly), dog poop bags, and a couple of trash cans to dispose of the waste. The only negatives are that many people (mostly residents of Hearthstone) will bring their unleashed dogs and allow them to roam and poop wherever. These same people can't be bothered to pick it up as the rules don't apply to them. There's also the ladies who bring their dogs in a stroller and that's hysterical! I don't bring my dog because of the other pet owners thoughtless actions. They aren't the majority, but this is why we can't have nice things. Other than that, I would say that I love Bob Allen Park and I'm grateful that there's such a lovely place nearby for my walks.

Someone with a love for kids designed this little park because it host many unique playing areas for kids to choose from. The park is all fenced in with a little track along the inside of the fence for adults to put in some exercise time while the kids are at play and provides easy monitoring of your child. Swings, slides, standing see-saws, climbing, tunnels through tires, sand, volleyball and plenty of additional activities to enjoy. There is one swinging bench of which I haven't seen at any park before, that is sure to make relaxing for the adult very pleasing. I may add that they have one play area with a cross as the ships mast that adds a bit of Christianity to the park. With plenty of trees to shade your visit, this is a sure stop for any parent, especially the stay at home mom to get out of the house and enjoy. Just a note that this park closes early so it's not for the late night walks. Have fun.

Neat little park representing remnants of old town Cypress, although there was no official downtown…read moreCypress back in the day since it occupied more than 100 square miles. This small cluster of mid-century buildings are all that's left of this area of Cypress. The official park is open only 3 days a week, during the day, but if you get here when open you can take free tours of the buildings, including a historical house, old gas station, community hall, general store, barber shop and railroad station. If you visit outside of their weekday hours, just the park grounds are open for picnics, or photographs, etc. There are no playgrounds for the kids. Note, the railroad station is a modern building that has been painted to look like an old railroad station, and is actually the historical library. The library is also open every 3rd Saturday from 11-2. At the rear of the park, there are a picnic area, railroad station, restroom building and 3 smaller out-buildings. The actual grounds are decorated with turn of the century farm implements, a walking path with 1 park bench and a water fountain. The picnic area is nice and modern with a covered roof, several rubber coated picnic benches, a stainless steel sink and countertop with running water and a large smoker if you are cooking. The newest location of BB'S Cafe has opened up next door to the park, so if you're having a picnic, you'll likely be smelling fried seafood in the air from next door if the wind is blowing from the south.

And needing some concrete to make the trails a bit smoother, but this is an awesome walk. Definitely gets the job done! I would say if you walk all the way around, this park may give you just a little over a mile and a half in distance. It's definitely a nice change in scenery from the park we go to. Also, there is a little gym at the beginning of the trail that looks pretty neat. Highly recommended if you are in need of a nice walk to get the blood flowing after a slow day.

Very pretty trail that leads you almost a mile back towards 2 very special memorials of those who served our country. I am scouting a park location for my next outdoor venue. This park didn't quite meet my criteria; however, there are still few pluses. As I was walking around, I noticed the poop stations along the trail. I know these are for those responsible dog owners to clean up after their Fido's. The trees are mostly evergreen, which means shades throughout the year. With the amount of vegetation here, it's actually an ideal location for portrait photography. I was also surprised to see the air ferns draping from the trees, just like Pele's Hair in Hawaii. It made me homesick. This is really a neighborhood park. I could see some tree seedlings on the south side of the park near the house fences. I figure it's because of springtime, grassy field was blooming. If you're allergic to pollen, stay home. I walked the entire trail, despite the already marked distance. I found part of trail missing. I had to get on the city sidewalk to complete the loop. Oh, there is not parking lot. So, park on the streets.

Much to my surprise, this "little" neighborhood park was well-kept, not busy, and much bigger than I expected! Not only is there a tennis court and backboard for tennis fans, there's a 1/3 mile running/jogging trail winding around the park, with a baseball field, playground, and plenty of shaded picnic areas and water fountains. What a well-kept secret! While we were there, only a handful of neighborhood folks were there, but the equipment is clean, the trail is fairly well-kept up, and it's a safe area to bring the kids. Loved it!
