Am I wrong or is this an all inclusive park AKA disability park?? There's a sign that says up to age 12?! (He's 14 btw but still loves parks) AND the swings for kids needing assistance were broken and the boat for those in wheelchairs was broken!! The big spider web thing also was no longer covered in the protective coating over the thick metal wiring. Extremely disappointed that the park for one, only allows children up to age 12 (so disabled teens aren't welcome?) and two that the park equipment looked run down. Won't be back to this park when we come back to town.

There's a water splash area as well as operational steam and diesel model trains. Other amenities include exercise station, picnic areas, a playground and two reservable pavilions. It is as an excellent choice. The kids enjoyed it and the pavilions provided more than adequate shelter. One thing tho just need to make a reservation. It's not first come first serve. They also allowed us to provide and serve our own food.

The paths cover a long distance so you better be prepared to walk/hike with purpose. One of the more explorative preserves in the Houston area, the paths are mainly dirt/sand so if rains, it's gonna be a muddy mess, your footwear will get dirty. Hiking boots/shoes are the way to go. I haven't seen any bugs here like the other reviews mentioned but that's probably cause I'm here when it's sub 50 degree temperatures. Go and explore this one yourself; you'll be quite pleased! Unless you don't like dirt, in that case go walk on a treadmill!

People walk their dogs in the evening. So it feels safer than I first thought. If you plan a tour, please make sure you have insect repellent. The official address is 9801 Tanner Road; however, there is no parking. The best way to enter the parking lot is on Porto Rico Road and Sweetbay Lane near Carvardale Community Center. This is a multi-purpose park situated on a 10-acre odd-shaped land while surrounded by houses and businesses. There are large baseball field, basketball court, tennis court, asphalt walking trail, swing sets as well as picnic tables and a few BBQ grill stands. While there are a couple of covered benches, this park can hold many parties at the same time. The reason being my favor park is the parking lot and mature trees. There are a few designated handicap parking spots and easily accessible to Porto Rico Road and Gessner Drive. It's always cool to walk on the trail with the shady trees on sunny days.
