We were in town recently and decided to check out R Place after it changed ownership (formerly Chances R). Upon arrival, we were greeted by a security guard at the door--no issues there. A woman seated near the entrance informed us there was a $10 cover charge for males. My friend and I paid, while our wives were allowed in for free. Not even ten feet inside, the same security guard stopped us and said the cover was actually $20 per person. I pushed back on this, and he ultimately let it go. Once inside, we realized we were the only customers in the entire bar. The music was extremely loud--so loud that we couldn't hear each other speak--but we ordered drinks anyway. My wife later approached the security guard to ask about the inconsistent cover charge, given that the bar was completely empty. When my friend's wife went over to join her, another security guard intervened and told them they needed to relax and that they were not allowed to touch each other, even though they were simply holding hands. After witnessing this interaction, we stood up and approached the security guards to understand what the issue was. Unfortunately, the response we received was rude and disrespectful, especially toward paying customers. To avoid further confrontation, we chose to leave. Based on this experience, we will not be returning to R Place. read more

This is one of those times where you realize the reviews are all friends of the owner and since they posted no photos I should have realized it. I had the honey garlic wings and cheese curds. The 6 wings were $11 which I could get past if they had been large wings but they were small. The sauce was horrible. I got their signature sauce on the side to try and it was not pleasant either. I had to check my receipt to make sure I actually ordered the honey garlic cause there was no garlic at all in that sauce. read more

The cook runs all the food, the food is absolutely awesome. Pink-Red haired bartender sits at the bar Netflix and chilling for hours, does not check on us unless we yell at her or go up up to her after getting out of chairs. Basically she ignores us for hours, and we have to go up to her and ask for service because she is too busy watching TV and outside smoking with her boyfriend. She also scoffed at us when we told her we tipped the chef, since he was running all the food, taking care of all to go orders, and the chef was the only one who actually catered to us and served us/made sure we were taken care of. Not once did our bartender ever go into the kitchen, she had no regard for our food whatsoever ever. I've been to this place ever since I turned 21, and I've always loved the vibe and service, especially on the weekends. Stopped in for a drink and was amazed. I came here years ago but totally different, and for the better. The drinks are reasonably priced and they literally have the best burger I have ever had. The cook Tyler came out to hand deliver it himself. The food prices are incredibly low for the quality. I would have paid 15 bucks for that burger and it was only like 9 bucks. Came on Tuesday night, around happy hour. Clean environment, TVs all around establishment. Lori took amazing care of me. Ordered her signature drink " Suck my Nipple", it has a very holiday and jolly taste. Id get it again coming i during the holidays. Ordered the Thai Chili wings, with fries. Wow!!!! I didn't even recognize this place from last time we visited!!! Inside has undergone a COMPLETE remodel!!! All new decor and high end TVs to complement the remodel. But that's not the best part!!! FOOD IS INSANELY GOOD! Menu has been completely overhauled and includes all our favorites!!! Wings are the best I've ever had!!! My son has been talking about the burger to 3 days straight!! We also tried the amazing pretzel and cheese curds! Can't wait to go back and try the rest of the menu!!! I stop in every now and then, Lori has been my bartender every time and she remembers me by name even though I'm not a regular. They have punch cards which I keep in my wallet and it's worth it. Bouncer scared me approaching me out of nowhere after I'm already in the place. The bartender didnt even greet my friends and I. I just wanted a stella. Politely. I could see the tap was malfunctioning and she says directly to his face "I dont like you." And to my left, a couple, she's yelling directly at the women to her face. I mean, who does that, who talks to people in that manner. I have never felt so disrespected. After a half hour of waiting no joke I got my stella. One more before I go, took another half hour because she pretended I was a wall clearly and she has the audacity to say "I cant hear you."? When I also use a sign language as in one more please. So unbelievably disrespectful. My friends and I are wide eyed as we cant believe the attitude she had. Maybe if she didnt raise her voice constantly she could hear better. I tipped her 5$ she's clearly struggling and needing it more than me. F*** that blonde Russian bartender. Worst customer service in my life. I have better customer service in a place 10x as busy. I recently visited Chances R Bar, to try their new free lunch that they offer on weekdays between 12pm-6pm. Natalie, one of the day bartenders served me my drink and then prepared me two large Polish, with all the fixings. She also provided me with a bag of chips. For a free lunch, it was excellent. Normally this meal would cost you anywhere between $6.00 to $9.00. Chances R, is a little shot and beer bar, thats been at that location for over 20 years. They serve 1/2 pitcher of beer for $4.00, and full pitchers for $7.00. The bar has nine large screen TVs, one electronic dart machine, a pool table, one table-top amusement game and a great internet digital juke box. There is a dance floor in the rear of the bar with a pole for dancing in the center. On many nights the ladies will use the pole while dancing a provide just a fun time for all. Chances R, serves a very tasty frozen pizza for only $5.00 and also sells chips. On Thursday March 17, 2011 dont forget the Chi-Rish, St Paddys Day Bash at Chances R. On St Paddys Day, Miller Lite, mini-pitchers for $4.00, will be served all day long. Coors Light on draft in $2.50 pints are available anytime. The bar serves shots of " Colder than Ice" Jagermeister from the machine. Miller beer in bottles are $2.75. There is plenty of parking at Chances R, in their private lot. The bar is open until 4am, everyday. The bartenders Natalie, Theresa, Lisa, Eva and Vicky are the best. They are knowledgable , experienced bartenders with great customer service skills. The bar has Taxi/Cab, VIP cards available for 10% off the cab fee, Provided by All-Star Taxi Cab Company. This service provides patrons with a safe ride home after a great night out. This bar has also been used in the filming of Chicago Para-normal Detective, on A&E. For all you spook busters this is your thing. I would never come in when eva is working. Skinny Russian chick with long blond hair. I put 5 dollars into the junkbox. And because someone else might have been lying about putting money in, she refused my money back when it didn't play my songs. Instead she put a single dollar in and said, well my song played. And while I was trying to tell her my situation, she just walks away. Shitty customer service. So yea, at this point I got loud and said what the fuck, I had 12 fucking credits and it didn't play my songs. I could have bought another drink with that money. To which she ignored. So I talked to the bouncer and all he said was, it's not their machine so I should call the number on it. I told him, they bought the machine it's in their place of business, it's their responsibility. At this point a fellow customer (probably a regular) came up to me and said, here 5 dollars if you shut up. Wtf. This place is shit. Then she goes out for a cigarette, and talks shit about us, not knowing we were right around the corner and heard everything. Saying that we were Lying! My husband confronted her and ended up getting our 5 dollars back. It was only 5 dollars. I don't see why they made such a huge fuss seeing as we bought 4 drinks and tipped her. It's not like we didn't have money and were begging for shit. If they were to have just been decent human beings, we would have just kept playing out game of pool and probably would have spent another 30 on drinks! I really hope the owner sees this.
