This bar sucks! I've been here 5 separate times since moving to Rancho and they charge you different prices each time(so check your tab). This place gives bad vibes for a $6 PBR that will magically turn into a $9 beer by the time the bartender rings you up. Good luck in their horror movie bathroom and sticky counter top...save your time and money and go to a different place. read more

Tons of parking but pretty small inside. They have bar seating with minimal other seating. They do offer 2 pool tables that are $1 each game. Drinks were kinda pricy, it was $8.75 for a Corona and a coke. The patrons/regulars weren't the friendliest either, they constantly skipped songs if it was of a certain genre or heckled you while you played pool. The "Support your local red & white" sticker should give you a little insight as to the clientele. read more

Stopped by today with my husband on our anniversary while waiting for our table to be ready at a nearby restaurant. The bar doesn't look like much from the outside, but the inside was cool and reminded me of some small bars i used to frequent in downtown Sacramento. I had just ordered my drink before we were notified our table was ready and had to down it and hurry out. There was an issue with the card reader, so the bartender let us go since we were in a rush. Hmmm... there's a few one star reviews here, and I really can't say this place deserves that. I'm *not* a regular, and I'm *not* some sort of god that everyone is going to flock to the minute I walk in... but I was politely welcomed, and had no problem striking up conversations with others. It's not a huge place, and yeah... I've seen it busy enough that seating becomes an issue, but I'll take that over a place with 50 empty bar stools where all you hear is crickets any day. I really wasn't sure when I pulled up to a strip mall style parking lot to check this place out, but I was told it was pretty divey - and divey it was. Pros: - strong drinks - friendly bartender - free pool if you order a drink - good music, some real 90s throwback stuff, but I was digging it. Cons: - the space is a bit awkward - there is a $1.25 fee for using plastic, regardless of your total - the customers were off-putting. Some lady started berating a man who walked in asking to borrow a lighter, "get a job, you loser!" she yelled, "you shouldn't have given him a thing," she told my boyfriend and I, "He asked me for one of my cigarettes outside and now he's asking people for lighters. Get a job!" Noticing the scuffle, the bartender asked us if we knew him, meanwhile the lady yelling at a stranger was not asked to tone it down. read more

You know what, this is a cool neighborhood bar. Thursday night and it was packed (mostly with neighborhood folks, I'm guessing.) There was a good variety of Rancho Cordova folks in there, but at no point did I feel like anything shady was going on. Place was clean, including the restrooms, for a bar. Bartender and owner Todd obviously cares about his place and works hard to make new faces feel welcome. I paid just over ten bucks for 4 large Shock Top beers off the tap. You can't beat that with a stick! I would echo some of the other sentiments here, don't go here if you're a stuck up prude, but if you're a regular bar-hopper there's nothing to fear here. read more

I'm not sure what bar the bad reviewers are talking about, but it's not this one! I've been coming here for over 5 years. The drinks are cheap and strong, and the beer is cold. I like all the bartenders, but. Natalie is my favorite. She's always sweet and funny (not to mention she's real easy on the eyes- hubba hubba). There's a few local bars in rancho, but this is by far my favorite. I think it's pretty clean, and the area isn't bad. If you're in the area definitely check it out. Hi, Jonathan here, I am a true R Spot local, I started going there the first day it opened as the R-Spot. It is within walking distance from my house. The bar shares the same building as the Rancho Cordova Police and Community Services offices so the fact that people are saying that drug dealing and usage is going on in the bar is NOT true, I know its not true. Its a dive bar in the middle of Rancho Cordova not a club in Roseville. The drinks are the cheapest in the area by far! The beer is always ice cold, there is a good selection of micro beer on tap as well as bottled. Sad news though, on August 6, the owner Todd J. Stahl passed away in a motorcycle accident. He was a great friend and person he will be missed by everyone. The bar is still open and will continue to be ran by the bar tenders and Todd's family. I love this bar!!!! It's a dive bar right smack in the middle of Rancho. If you want some nice salty nuts to snack on (who doesn't), a stiff drink to wet your whistle (I like to taste my alcohol), good music on the juke box (you know you chose a good one when the big man behind the bar turns it up) then this is the bar for you! The last guy who wrote a review needs to loosen his tie a little and leave his loafers at home (with his girlfriend). The owner/bartender, Todd, is the best. He is a loud mouth and that's one of the many reasons why I love him. As far as "dirty" ummm, he's mistaken. He must have been focused on the peanut shells that decorate the bar floor, because Todd keeps his bar, tables and bathrooms clean. One thing I love love love is how clean the bathroom ALWAYS is. As far as the jack ass saying there's no entertainment except a juke box...now he's just pulling shit out of his ass. Aside from the jukebox, there's tv's with games on (but who goes into a dive to watch a game), and pool tables. If you are being "stalked" like Mr. Rogers claimed in his review and can't handle it on your own...tell Todd he'll make sure nothing happens and his patrons are safe inside, out front and out back. I've seen a lot go down in his bar from him kicking people out and calling the cops on them, to birthday celebrations. I'm throwing a bachelorette party for my best friend and that's where we want to start the night, so that has to tell you something good right! read more

Friend of mine went in there to get me to try one more time swearing it's a good place to go. He goes in the restroom almost got into a fight this guy offers him meth and checks him out while he is peeing. Then someone smells like they took a big shit in there pants at the bar. Be very careful with the bartender gen and the Saturday night and Sunday bartender my tab was padded and I refused to pay for it there was drinks added to my tab I did not auth .and the bartender goes along with the lye Do not use a credit card and if you do demand they. Just moved to the area. Found this bar and it's pretty awesome. Great drink specials, especially on football Sunday! Definitely a pro Raider atmosphere which I love, but if you wanna watch your team they are happy to oblige. Totally recommended if you like the little dive bar feel. read more

Recently I was in Sacramento on a business trip. And like any other business trip I always try to make time to check out the local eats and see what it is that makes that town or city stand out from the rest. That night I was looking for a place to shoot some pool with a fellow worker. I yelped cool dive bars and one stood out. It's was called R Spot. When entering R Spot the first thing I noticed were the peanut shells on the floor. I saw this once before at a bar in Seattle and thought how cool, you can eat free peanuts and not have to worry about where to dispose of it. Easily amused right?. There are so many positive things I can say about R Spot. Things like how the bartender Natalie, a white girl made the best pico de gallo. It's a place where everyone is comfortable in their own skin and allows you to be in yours. Give it a shot, what do you have to lose. read more

Glad I made it out alive and unroofed! Sketchy folks, bartenders, and owner. Loud, trashy, and obnoxious is how I would describe the staff and customers here. The smell is about the only thing worse than the service I got from the extremely rude, slow, and drunk bartender. She should be told that clothes that are about 6 sizes too small for her and eating an entire pizza while bartending, isn't helping. It was awkward and annoying to have to interrupt her chow down in order to get a drink and close my tab. My grandparents met in this bar the year it first opened, not as R Spot of course, in 1964...40 years later I was lucky enough to come in when Todd, who is an awesome friend and great man (by the way to all of the previous reviews who tried to bash the owner/bartender), had taken over nd turned it in R Spot. I was reconnected with old friends, made tons of new friends nd got to be a part of some amazing times. I'm no longer a regular, but some of my friends still are nd my life wouldn't be the same had I never met Todd. This is a great place to hang out or hold a celebration, they have great drinks for great prices nd the staff, although can be "harsh" at times, are great people! Four thumbs up! read more

This is a great neighborhood bar...no matter what some people say. The patrons are hardworking honest loyal people. Todd the owner makes you feel welcome even with his tough exterior. You will find many types of people from all ages and sizes. I've never seen any woman treated poorly or stalked. I've had some great parties at Rspot, and usually Todd will throw in some drink specials for my guest or just in general for everyone in the bar that day. His New Years Eve party for 2009 was AMAZING!!! Where else can you get half priced drinks, free pool, beer pong and ping pong?? I get tired of going to a bar or club, ask for a drink and get a small cup with mostly ice and no alcohol for a ton of $$$. This bar is fine for a Dive bar. If your looking for an upscale sports bar this isn't it. I like dive bars as long as they are somewhat clean. I have been here a few times and had a good time. It's very small , just big enough for a couple of quarter pool tables and some TVs. Seating at the bar and at a few small tables along the wall. So def keep in mind it is small. Decorations are heavy on the Nascar and NFL memorabilia which is cool with me. Def has a local Cordova watering hole kind of feel to it. If you can't figure out what that means you probably wouldn't be comfortable at R Spot. I'm sure the nearby dim and ample parking lot has surely been put through its paces. The R-Spot has all the hallmarks of a fading dive bar: too many garish logos, odd lighting, and notable lack of mirrors. It also has a dedicated cast of regulars, mostly drawn to its convenient location close to so many homes. In fact, you have to go out a couple of miles north or south to find any other watering holes. Vibe: Working man blues, laid back, and the occasional loudmouth. Nothing fancy. Nothing scary. Even the nickelbaggers loitering in the parking lot and drifting between the R-Spot and the liquor store in the strip mall corner are nice. Serve your bindle with a smile. Cast: Well, there aren't too many sexy people here. Some look kind of OK, but many are just plain or even ugly. Nice normally, but if there's always other fish in the sea, this here is the chum. Well - I can say that I was looking for a nice hole in the wall to hide out at every once in awhile, one that was off my regular beaten path. I had spied "R Spot" and thought I would check it out..Bellied up to the bar, got a fat drink for a great price..liked the decor...dug into my Sacramento Bee, and was joined at the bar by two nice young ladies, early 20's..good so far..then local hood rat sleezed in and made his way to the bar..hey live and let live..I continued to read the funnies and listened to the offer made to the two ladies to go to his car and try his shit..they agreed and off they went, returning 20 min or so later reeking of weed and giggling like two year olds..hey..found it interesting that hood rat did not return with them, nor did he buy a drink for himself or the girls when he came in..make your own assumptions..the activity does not keep me away as it is a place on one thinks to look for me..I just won't bring my lady here..keep in mind that this visit was sometime ago.. read more
