There was plenty of parking and they had a food truck there that day (Cousins Maine Lobster). We were greeted right away and there is a selection of about 7 beers in the German style. We ordered a flight since we had not tried their beers before. There is seating inside and outside. We decided to sit outside since it was a nice day. There were no umbrellas so it got a bit hot. After asking the staff if they had umbrellas, they said yes and brought one right out. (It had been very windy the day before so we're putting away.) We enjoyed all of the beers and decided to try one more called Landbier which was poured slowly. It was very good. The Helles was also good. There was not one we didn't like. We will definitely be back to try some other beers.

Upon entering, we were greeted by a friendly bartender by the name of Ronny. Our first round consisted of two dirty martinis (my new drink of choice), which Ronny put his fist (that's a good thing) into making. One of the things that I love about dive bars is the various demographics that usually frequent them (along with their interesting conversations). For our second round we ordered a "Manmosa (yes I know that sounds ridiculously machismo in 2024)" that Ronny insisted on putting a fruity spin on. Not only were we thankful for his suggestion, but his version was GOOD! In real dive bar-like fashion, Ronny provided us both with an extra cup to house the remainder of the Manmosa that could not fit into our glasses (another dive bar perk). As we sat at the bar, my wife and chatted while lightly watching the movie Step Brothers on one of the televisions. Although it was a fairly slow Saturday afternoon, I can imagine that this place gets pretty lively in the latter part of the night though. We reviewed the bill and said it looked correct, but before handing it back, the highest tip option was selected and added automatically before my card was charged. I didn't notice until I got back to my car and saw the final amount. I was shocked and disappointed. The atmosphere is still great, the concept is unique, and the food is very good. However, it never felt like much of a locals' spot. Despite visiting many times over the years, the bartenders never seemed to recognize us or make us feel particularly welcome. The hosts often came across as young and disengaged. It's unfortunate because there is a lot to like here, but after losing my favorite menu item and having this payment experience, I don't think I'll be returning.
