Russ inspected two homes for me in my Michigan house-hunting journey. In the first home - he found many issues that made the house unsafe, and there would have been significant repairs - things that were purposely covered up. Also, renovations were done without pulling permits - this was known because the renovations were not to code. This house looked good on the 20-minute walk-through, but when he walked with me during the inspection, I called my agent and told him to cancel the deal. On the second home, he did find some issues but nothing significant, not enough to scare me away from this home. And most of the issues were already being dealt with by the owner. I am going into this knowing what I must repair first and what can wait. Russ took his time going through both homes and gave me a detailed report, including pictures; he also walked through the houses with me and showed me what he found. If I had any questions - he was there to answer them; he also assured me that I could reach him in the future if I needed to understand further issues he found on the report.
