Honestly, it wasn't an easy decision--these days there are so many exhaust brands to choose from. My top three were Dundon, JCR, and R1. I've owned a Dundon before and loved it on my 991.2 GT3. JCR has a great reputation, but the lead time was at least 9-10 weeks. R1, on the other hand, probably delivers the most insane sound you can get out of a Porsche GT3/RS. It was a tough call. What ultimately made the difference was customer service. I spoke with Jimmy directly--not just once, but three times in a single day. Every time, he answered the phone in great spirits and took the time to thoroughly answer all my questions. These days, it's rare to come across genuinely good service, which is why I usually stick with places I already trust instead of trying somewhere new. But even being in Georgia and having to handle everything online and over the phone, R1 Motorsport--and Jimmy in particular--made me feel completely comfortable and confident in my decision. Just took my new GT3 RS to R1 for a seat insert upgrade. After speaking with Hov, ended up ordering the RSR exhaust, could not be happier. Jimmy and Hov were extremely helpful, answering all my questions and had me leaving with a big smile on my face. When you see the type of cars they are working on it really makes you feel comfortable and understand what all the hype is about, its real. These guys are pros and have earned my business from here on out. The exhaust has completely changed the car in the BEST way possible, like Jimmy promised, it really "wakes up" the car. Not over the top loud where its obnoxious but instead suits the car perfectly. Go to Boden, the service and quality of work will be night and day better. These guys are too busy trying to get "Instagram famous" instead of answering simple questions that I messaged, that would take 5 seconds to answer. Then I read a bad review on here, saying the welds on their exhausts are garbage, and Jimmy doesn't care. Good thing I found out early, before becoming a customer. Second review. I brought in my turbo S and they did a complete color change to vampire red. You cannot tell it was another color! The door jambs look like they came in this color, all the stickers on the door are still in place. Even the door hinges wtf...!! When you deal with an owner of a business who is gracious, kind, high character, who is honest and honorable, well informed in his craft, highly competent, and also a true car enthusiast himself...good things are likely to happen. And good things did indeed happen when I brought my '25 Porsche 911 GT3RS to R1 Motorsport. The PPF was put on with care, precision and expertise that far surpassed a previous PPF shop that I dealt with that I thought was pretty good. But when compared to R1 I saw there is actually a big difference between good enough and real mastery of a craft. Jimmy made me feel like I was a friend in the way he made recommendations and suggestions. Hov, his right hand, is equally wonderful and kind, helpful, organized and puts in effort to carefully explain everything. I observed that the installers were engaged and serious and detail oriented. The versatility of this shop and breadth of services is another great advantage. I had them do PPF, roll cage, radar detector installation, window tint, decals, proprietary exhaust, custom trickle charger whip. They can do this and much more. So nice to observe that treating customers with honesty and decency is also a good business strategy. Because this is obviously a successful business operation. The sound incredible and of course the titanium weighs nothing. I love that the sound still sounds like its from factory but the volume has been turned up(as it should be). I would leave 10 stars if I could. When I first thought about modifying my 911, I was really skeptical on who to take it to. I found R1, and let me tell you: These guys are the most professional, kind, responsive, and overall fantastic people for any kind of exotic car modifications you want to do. I was very straight up to the point on what I wanted to do to my 911 at first, but these guys took it five steps further, and made it into some thing even better than I thought of doing in the first place. It's by no means cheap l, I'll say that; But you literally get what you pay for. Not in just a sense of quality parts and service, but you get friendly people, and you can call anytime or text them for updates on the car and it's progress. Special shout out to (Hov, Jimmy, and Kaden!) They'll also give you their honest opinion on whether or not a part is quality, worth doing, worth paying for, or if there's something better you can do with your money. They're also very straight up on where each dollar you spend is going, whether that be labor or the part itself. What's cool too is that the other cars they were working on made my car look like nothing, but they were really hyped to work on it considering it was just a stock 911 Carrera S. I had a lot of detail work done to the car, the entire car PPF wrapped, a full powder coated cage, exhaust, new painted wheels, and many other things; They got it done in only four weeks! I gave Hov a time I needed it done by, and we actually got it done a day early. They even detailed the car for me. Putting your car in the hands of somebody else is pretty scary, but if you take it to R1, it'll leave better than it ever was before. read more

Jimmy and his business are a bunch of Amateurs when it comes to wrapping cars with paint protection films. He or his employee actually used a knife to trim the film while installing it and left knife marks in the paint! This is a lazy and improper way of performing this work. Stay away from R1 Motorsport if you want the work done right!! A bunch of money hungry hacks. Response to owner Jimmy T. : No thanks to your feeble attempt to convince me to bring my car back to you so you can "take a look at the car and area of concern". I guess a customer only gets an "enjoyable customer experience " if they don't find their car mutilated by you and your lazy inexperienced staff. This is an update from my previous review: Kept hearing a rattling from the exhaust while the engine was on. Took the car to a reputable exhaust shop. Discovered several spots where Jimmy had welded that had come loose (cracked). The shop re-welded these spots. Rattling is gone now. Discovered poor quality work (welding) performed by R1Motorsport, more specifically Jimmy the "owner" that had to be repaired by a shop that actually knows what they are doing! Once again I highly regret taking my Porsche to Jimmy Overcharged for sloppy work!! Previous review: R1 Motorsport more specifically Jimmy the owner will rip you off. Don't waste your time taking your car here you will regret it just like I did! I had Jimmy install a after market header and exhaust on my Porsche. First of all he took way too long to do the job and kept making excuses as to why it wasn't ready when he promised. Finally he notified me it was ready for me to pick it up. I dropped everything and went to pick up my car. I could tell something was up because Jimmy wouldn't look at me in the eye and just wanted me to pay the balance. So I did and left. On my way home I got a "check engine" light so I immediately took it to the Porsche dealership. I just figured it must be something unrelated to the work Jimmy had done. Long story short they informed me that the header gaskets were leaking exhaust and needed to be replaced. I found this odd because Jimmy had just worked on the headers. What happened was that Jimmy reused the old gaskets instead of installing new ones like he should have!! Everyone knows you do not reuse these gaskets so Jimmy knowingly reused them to put more money in his pocket instead of doing the job correctly. I have to wonder where else Jimmy cut corners to maximize his profits? That's all he apparently cares about. So yes I got ripped off. There's no excuse for this blatant shoddy work on a customers valuable car. That was a very dishonest thing to do so I will never take my car or any other car to Jimmy at R1 Motorsport again!! read more

I have a Lexus IS-F and was looking for a high-end exhaust shop that did TIG welding to modify my aftermarket exhaust system. I couldn't find any reputable TIG welders in the Los Angeles and San Gabriel Valley area. I knew that R1 worked on IS-Fs before and built custom exhaust systems, but they were about 40 miles away from me. I called up R1 and gave them a shot. Took me 1 hour to get there, but Jimmy and his crew greeted me right away and put my car up on the lift to see what they could do for me. I came back a few days later to get the custom modification to my exhaust. It only took Jimmy and his crew 1 day to custom fabricate what I wanted and WOW. The craftsmanship is top notch and they absolutely know what they are doing. It was well worth the drive up there and I'm very happy with their service. Brought my car to R1 his crew completed the project which included full vorsteiner aero kit on my 2017 R8 and wheels ad novitec suspension in 4 days and only bcuz novitec springs took 2 days to receive. Great place. All about quality not quantity for this shop. the entire crew work on your car as if it was their own. True enthusiasts. Some shops do nice work. But when you see a car with r1 plates its an entire package wow factor. No half a$$ing projects here. He either does it and does the best or doesn't do it at all. When you roll up you're surrounded by gorgeously detailed BMWs, corvettes, Ferrari's, Porsches and lambos Came here to get a cat-back exhaust for my seemingly lowly e46 non-M 330i, and wow does it sound perfect! Jimmy and his team perfectly executed what I wanted within my budget. The system is fully custom, made of stainless steel piping, and a gorgeous custom muffler with awesome tips. Plus, all the welds are TIG, which are so clean and look better than factory!!
