Less than 18 months after having our roof re-done by RAA Construction Group (now called RAA Roofing), we've since had two separate roof leak incidents in Feb '24, and now again in Feb '25. In Feb '24, the roofer came out to fix the issue which involved them replacing the metal flashing around our HVAC system. We notified our solar company who subcontracted RAA Roofing that we had another leak, and they had someone from RAA Roofing come and tarp our roof before the next rainstorm came. However, what RAA Roofing meant by tarping the roof was to tarp our roof and the entire roof-mounted HVAC system. Imagine our surprise when my wife and kids got home after school/work to find the entire house smelled of noxious carbon monoxide fumes with our pets inside the home. They immediately opened all the windows, shutoff the HVAC (heater), and removed our pets and themselves from our house to let it air out. I called to complain and they sent the guy back out in the dark to get on our roof and fix the tarp. That could've ended very badly for us. The owner of the RAA Roofing, Mordechay Shaul, said his guy didn't know the HVAC system was a centralized (all-in-one) system which is amazing since this is the same company that re-roofed our house back in July 2023. I guess they forgot, huh? But honestly, who tarps an entire HVAC system like that leaving nowhere for carbon monoxide to escape? Not smart at all, it would've killed us all had we not noticed. A week later, the roofer came out to assess the cause of the roof leak and instead blamed it on our HVAC system which is less than five years old. I brought Mordechay into our home to show him the damage to our bedroom ceiling which I told him needed to be repaired, along with the insulation in our attic that got wet from this latest roof leak. He said they would need to do an asbestos test first, I agreed as it is an older home built in 1957 and hasn't been tested to our knowledge. I even gave the roofers our garden hose to water-test the roof around the HVAC system to see if they could determine the exact location of the leak only to have them abruptly leave our residence without telling me anything. When I reached out to the solar company, I got a long email back explaining that they had taken photo/video evidence of our roof and HVAC system and that the leak was not their fault. They said a seal was damaged and that was the cause of the leak. We regularly maintenance our HVAC through Service Champions though and they take numerous photos of our HVAC unit, the ducting in the attic, inside and out. We asked Service Champions to come back out a few days after the roofing inspection and Service Champions said it appeared there was a seal that was somehow torn, but it wasn't torn after the last Service Champions visit. We asked if the wind or something else could've torn the seal and they said no. So, it appears that RAA Roofing tore our HVAC seal to make it look like the cause of our latest roof leak is not their fault and to avoid having to repair it. We are now in the process of taking them and our solar company to court over this. I highly recommend that you avoid RAA Roofing at all costs.

Joseph is extremely professional, has high integrity, and works hard to make sure you are satisfied with the outcome. To me, these are the most important traits for a contractor and he has a bright future in the industry. I chose RAA to remodel two bathrooms and renovate an office after interviewing many firms. RAA was not the lowest cost, but Joseph was way more organized and professional than any other company. He clearly laid out every step of work, with a well written, detailed estimate and timeline. Our trust paid off as our project came through within budget with minor overruns, and on time as well. Joseph came to the job site every day to check on the work. When we did have issues with any aspect, RAA redid the job at no cost to us. If I do have any criticisms, its that 1) not all of their subcontractors are as detail oriented or careful as Joseph. We went through two grout companies, and re-grouted twice, but the grout still came out discolored in spots. However, Joesph's tile contractor is exceptional. 2) RAA didn't provide enough assistance in transporting materials from the store to the job site. We had to make many runs to buy and return tiles and other items. Other jobs I've worked on the contractor was responsible for picking up purchases as they have the time and trucks, and we will insist this be in the contract in the future as we just don't have time as two working parents. As they continue to build their business, I hope they maintain their high customer service, and continue to find the most high quality crews. I wouldn't hesitate to use them again for future projects.

Moti and his team were a very lucky find for me. After several interviews with other contractors Moti was the best prepared and the one who gave me answers on the spot as well as a good estimate which he stood by. The process could have been a lot more painful but thanks to his attentive stewardship & an excellent crew I got through this comfortably and with a great result. I would and have recommended RAA to anyone who is apprehensive of starting any construction/remodel project Moti Shaul will not disappoint . Remodeling a bathroom and adding a washer/dryer in a Condo is not for the faint of heart but I now can enjoy the perfect en-suite in comfort. I honestly appreciate their excellent service, work and expertise.

My family & I have been living with a nightmare of a kitchen for over a year and a half. It was very challenging to find the right contractor willing to restore a skeleton of a kitchen back to its original state. Creating a new kitchen would have been easier. The project was too small for many contractors. Other contractors were willing to do the job but charged outrageous prices. After much time, I put the word out again on YELP in search of a contractor. Thank you YELP for being there for me! God answered my prayers when Michael Lungu called immediately after my YELP post. I was quite surprised, impressed and kept my fingers crossed that this would work. Michael Lungu came to my home the very next day. Michael was wonderful - not only in terms of his help but also in terms of his terrific personality (and lots of it!). He was professional, warm, reassuring, easy to talk to and never failed to keep his word. Michael's word was golden! More importantly, he quoted a fair price. Internally, I hoped that RAA Construction would do a fair job as well. I was very nervous but Michael was so nice and reassuring that I thought, "surely, I've chosen the right contractor." Well, RAA Construction did not disappoint despite the fact that the job was very time consuming & difficult. They finished the job in an impressively timely manner. Kudos to Cabinet Maker Jacob. Like Michael, Jacob was warm, reassuring and easy to talk to. My family and I are so grateful to finally have our kitchen back thanks to Michael and Jacob of RAA Construction! You are awesome and my family and I are truly grateful to you for restoring our kitchen. Sending lots of blessings your way!

    They did a great job!

Moti went above and beyond for our project. We spoke with several contractors about converting an open floor plan living room area into a closed home office space. Moti seemed extremely knowledgeable and approachable. He also gave us a very competitive quote. The work was done impeccably and on time. Throughout the process, Moti was easily reached by phone to help us tackle any and all unexpected snags along the way. We are extremely happy with the finished product. A new wall and doorway were constructed in our home to close off the office space and it blends seamlessly with the rest of the home and looks great. I would easily hire Moti and his company again and plan to do so for future projects.

Finished patio! (Was torn down to it's wood beam structure, reinforced, re-weatherproofed, and then retiled).

The pavers and driveway are honestly stunning - our neighbors have given us so many compliments already! The team was easy to work with, showed up when they said they would, and explained the process clearly along the way. Communicating over Whatsapp with them was great. We went back and forth proposing solutions to the drainage issues and where to put the stairs - they really listened to all our ideas and improved them. Their proposed amazing drainage solutions are effective and work great. The quality of their work and planning was top tier. Later, "Jacob" called me back later and expressed condescending concern that I had ONLY a $150K budget. I told him that's where the budget starts, not ends and asked him what the true cost was. He responded back that it's between $300 and $450 a square foot. So I told him, "Okay, if my calculations are correct, if I go with $350 a square foot so I'm not at the rock bottom, and I multiply that by 600 sq ft for a small ADU, that is roughly $210K for a price starting point with your company?" "Well no it's not exactly... "Then what did I miss?" "Well there's all sorts of other things blah blah blah..." Overall the tone was condescending and he made it clear that I didn't know what I was talking about, when in fact I have 15 years experience as a home designer that designs and budgets facelifts on houses that are about to go up for sale. I have dealt with contractors for many, many years. Eventually I got fed up with his tone and told him to cancel the appointment. As my grandma always said, you'll catch more flies with honey than hot sauce!

Throughout the entire process, Mike was very professional and the level of expertise he exhibited was obvious. Before Mike, I had met with 3 other contractors to compare services and quotes but what sealed the deal for me was the 3D render service Mike offered. It was affordable and it would be free if you end up going with MDM for your remodel. Mike was able to get the renderings to me very quickly and made adjustments whenever we wanted to change something. Seeing the details of the renderings really brought what we were envisioning to life and helped with the design process. Fast forward to beginning of demo/construction, Mike's employees were impressively fast and efficient at their jobs, but what really impressed me was how clean they kept our property after each day of work. And that stated true throughout the entire process of our 7 month renovation. During construction, if there were any last minute changes, Mike would always try to cater to our needs whenever possible. Even if subcontractors made mistakes with anything, Mike would make sure it is fixed and perfect right away. Keep in mind, you can't rely on Mike for everything (as much as you might want to). You really do have to do your research (in terms of design, finishing materials, sourcing those materials, and getting them delivered on time) and know exactly what you want and how you want it, that way, Mike can plan and put into action what needs to be done. After this entire process, we are extremely happy we got this project completed with MDM. What really sets them apart is the quality of work, dependability, and the great people that work for MDM. Shoutout to Mario! They really respected our home and were very considerate of us during construction. Even after everything was finished, they guaranteed that they would come back and fix anything that needed fixing. Cannot recommend them enough if you want to improve or build your new home!

From start to finish, the entire team was extremely professional, dedicated, and highly skilled. On the very first day we met, Nir helped design a 3D view of the project that perfectly captured exactly what we had envisioned. Throughout the build, we had a weekly walkthrough with Nir to check if we had any questions or concerns, which kept communication incredibly clear. Elba was also an excellent project coordinator who was always available to answer our questions and keep everything on track daily. The construction crew themselves were clearly very experienced and knowledgeable; they followed our approved plans meticulously and were happy to accommodate extra requests along the way. You can truly gauge the quality of their work by the fact that every single city inspector visit passed on the first try--nothing ever had to be rescheduled or redone because everything was built perfectly to plan. Additionally, all of the finishes--from the drywalling to the trim work and paint--were done with high-quality materials and top-tier craftsmanship. I was first referred to Preferred Builders by my tax preparer, Happily, my first repair/remodel turned out wonderfully so I immediately started a remodel on my own home. Scope of work: remove all the carpeting in the house and install laminate plank flooring in those areas. The travertine flooring in the entry, kitchen and hallway had large craters which collected dirt and water residue after washing. I had the floor steamed, the craters filled and the whole floor resealed. I had a gasline installed in the kitchen and a new gas oven installed. I also had a complete bathroom remodel which included removing a huge jacuzzi tub and installing an elegant and safe walk in shower. For the bathroom Nir listened to my concerns and needs and then gave me two 3-D renderings of my options. Elba was fabulous and fast with permits, a purchase list and provided weekly job schedules and updates. I have now completed this remodel and I can't be happier. My Preferred Builders team was pure gold! I highly recommend Nir, Elba and Orel, the Foreman. Orel was caring and his experience was invaluable, Roman, (drywall, moldings, paint, flooring) Carlo (beautiful tile work) and Abnir were all professional, caring and kind. My remodel was reasonable and fast. I definitely recommend Preferred and I already have.
