However, something really irked me - they don't honor prices listed so it seems they can change it depending on who you are or time of day. 2-item combo is listed as $13.50 and they charged $14.04. When asked about this price discrepancy she pointed to the "Prices are Subject to Change" sign and then said it's probably updated online (which it is not - still says $13.50). Regardless, it's not about the money it's about the principle. I was talking to a friend about this and they mentioned it's a violation to do this in CA - looked it up and apparently it is - had no idea. read more

They also have a fresh salsa bar. There were fountain drinks and bottles. It's a place I may ride the motorcycle to when I take ot on a short putt. It's worth a try. read more

I had a craving for a burrito and decided to try Rachael's, a restaurant I'd driven past for years. I ordered a West Coast Burrito with steak to go. Unfortunately, my $15 burrito contained steak that was burnt to a crisp (see pic). The burnt steak made the burrito unenjoyable due to its crunchy texture and overpowering flavor. I'm disappointed to be writing a negative review, as most of my reviews are positive. This first-time experience unfortunately leaves me hesitant to return. We drive by this location every week and have noticed the sign for Rachael's at the intersection, but we have never tried this place till now. With all the high praises for this place, we finally thought we'd try it out. Located in an office park, this casual little Mexican restaurant clearly caters to the nearby businesses during the early morning and lunch hours during the work week till 2.30pm, and is closed on weekends. What I really like about this place is that the staff working here are very nice and friendly, and from what I noticed whilst dining here, everyone is working in the area and is treated like a family member or friend as most guests were greeted on a first name basis.... and not just a number. The menu is quite extensive with many delicious looking Mexican breakfast and lunch options..... many of our favorites too, so we were pretty excited, but had difficulty deciding what to order. Luckily, we were still early, and the place was still very quiet, with no one waiting behind us. After some consideration and help from t the nice lady behind the counter, I ordered the California burrito with shredded chicken for myself, and my wife ordered the Chicken Fajita with corn tortillas.... and side of chips...... various salsa sauces are available at the little salsa bar. So, I really liked my burrito as it was hot and fresh, and the shredded chicken was very tender. The tortilla was just perfect.... nice and thin and didn't break when I held anc but into it. The filling was also quite generous and went great with any one of three salsa sauces. My wife's chicken fajita was a different story. While the corn tortilla was very hot, fresh, and delicious, and the sides of beans, rice, and chicken and veggies were of good taste and portion, the chicken was just way way too salty!!! It was so salty that my wife took one bite and she couldn't eat it anymore. I had several pieces before Itoo decided that it was way too salty, and sadly, we couldn't eat any more of it. The chicken was so salty that we found ourselves drinking tons of water all day, and my blood pressure shot thru the roof the next morning. I guess for those who are not as diet sensitive as us, this place is a good place for some nice, quick, Mexican food. I've worked in the Irvine area for years and Rachael's Mexican Food restaurant is a true hidden gem! The food is amazing, the staff is friendly and the service is fast and efficient. Everything my wife and I have tried has been outstanding, especially the chile verde, fajitas and their delicious breakfast burrito. The new owners have elevated the place with authentic, high-quality dishes, a well priced menu and a relaxed casual vibe. They were very friendly and went out of their way to be accommodating.. which really stood out. The self-serve salsa bar, wine options and indoor/outdoor seating are big pluses. Ok this little hidden gem is located off Alton and Irvine blvd! It's in the same plaza as Blue Bird hummingbird coffee, to the left of it. Rachel's serves big portions and has an assortment of Mexican dishes, the ladies in there are so quick and nice and the cook is the GOAT with his ability to spruce up some meals for all the hungry business people in the vicinity. This fast casual place is located in a business park/industrial area between Irvine and Lake Forest. I stopped in for lunch and they were crazy-busy! This is definitely a place that those working in the area visit for a quick bite at lunchtime. The women behind the counter were friendly and humorous while running things like a well-oiled machine. Orders were taken by one and payment taken by the other, keeping the line moving quickly. I ordered the beef taquitos plate. There are a handful of tables tightly packed indoors and a number of metal patio tables crammed together outside. You won't have a private conversation if you decide to eat there rather than taking it to-go. I sat outside and listened to a job interview (over lunch!) beside me. My plate was brought out to me within three minutes. The taquitos were hot, meaty, and crisp. The blobs of sour cream and guacamole were fresh and I dipped my taquitos in each. Just picked up a catering order - 25 breakfast burritos at 7:30 AM and they handled it like absolute pros (because they are!). Really impressed. Good prices, solid breakfast burritos, great salsas, and they give chips with the burritos too! Everything was packaged up very nicely, they were just about ready to go when I got there so it made the timing perfect. The food was good! I wanted the breakfast burrito but it was only served in the morning. We got the California burrito with shredded beef and a three item combo plate with green and red sauce cheese enchilada, beef enchilada and a crunchy beef taco. They gave us two complimentary bags of chips to show their appreciation for their customers continued support during the pandemic. Their salsas were good too! We got pico de gallo, salsa verde and habanero red salsa. I do have a complaint.. I thought a California burrito comes with fries, however, halfway into my burrito I didn't see any fries and was quite disappointed. I checked the menu again and turns out their California burrito really doesn't come with fries... what California burrito doesn't come with fries?? Smh. Yes I could have checked the menu, but when someone sees California burrito, you automatically assume it's with fries. Please change your menu!! It's misleading.
