My first time at Puesto Park Place, and don't come for me, but it definitely didn't live up to the hype First of all we had a reservation, and although we were seated fairly quickly, it took quite a bit for our waitress to actually find us and check in on us. Secondly, we were sat next to the open kitchen, but watching the food being made kind of made the experience worse lol? For the prices they charge the way that the food was being prepped was so mediocre that it was hilarious. Also, the kitchen itself looked pretty dirty and the windows that we were sat next to were also hilariously, dirty and splattered with built up grease. The irony of this being that they could have just not done an open kitchen concept, and it would've made it honestly better. The food itself was also pretty mid, nothing really stood out and made me gasp due to it being overly flavorful or unique. The drinks were OK again nothing out of the ordinary. Also, the guacamole was lacking salt... Super disappointing for your guacamole to not hit at an upscale Mexican restaurant. Overall, for the money, I would recommend Javier's over Puesto, the food is better. The service is better and also the ambience and views are better.

I am writing to share some feedback regarding our recent visits to Puesto in Irvine. Stefan has been our server several times, and he is truly an all-star. He is always professional, polite, courteous, insightful, and very welcoming. We greatly appreciate his excellent service and wonderful personality. We will definitely ask to be seated in his section the next time we visit. Had to edit at 4:32 PM. He just dropped off some taco tacos. Take a look.

This is a more up-scale Mexican restaurant in a nice area. The service is good and the whole place is very clean with very nice decor. I had the chicken enchilada. It was pretty good. I particularly liked the sliced avocado. The sauce was pretty mild... A bit too mild for my taste and I had to add some hot sauce to give it a bit more flavor. You'll see from the picture that the dish comes with just 1 enchilada. Most Mexican restaurants give you 2, though this one is probably a little larger than most. Also, there's no rice or beans. And the enchilada didn't have any cheese either inside or on top. Considering what they're charging for this ... I expected a little more of anything. My friend had the short rib bowl and he said it was very good. Considering the price -- it had better be. We had to ask for chips 3 times before we finally got them ... Overall, the food is good and the place has a very nice decor and feel. But I felt like the value was not there. The food was good, but not so amazing to justify a price that's probably 50% to 100% more than you'd find at a basic Mexican restaurant.

The Best food & Space is at Puesto Park Place I had a fantastic dining experience at Puesto in Irvine at Park Place. Right across from North Italia, this establishment rocked my senses. Let me start off by saying, I made a reservation error and the staff, especially the hostess Maureen and manager went above and beyond to seat us comfortably. The establishment was spotless, and the staff was so friendly and attentive. Shout out to Ale and Joanna for being kind, generous and knowledgeable. Even when they brought us the wrong dessert, they didn't charge us, but they still insisted we try it. Im not sure if it was due to the time of day we went but the timing was impeccable for our food. Our orders came out so fast, as if they were reading our minds. I truly love when the service and the food match the beautiful atmosphere. We got the guacamole flight which came with 3 incredible flavors, but the mango with pomegranate stole the show. Then, we had the chicken al pastor taco, marinated in hibiscus which is very unique! And the surf-and-turf taco were bomb. For dessert, they first brought us pistachio tres leches cake, though the cake was great, I wasn't a fan of the zest-heavy cream; I would have preferred a strawberry topping instead. But the churro sundae... babyyyyy now that was next level. Vanilla ice cream, churro bites, pistachio crumble, a cajeta drizzle, and dark chocolate chunks. I'd come back just for that, especially in summer with a cocktail. Puesto knows how to impress, and I can't wait to return! Pro tips: * Park in the structure and don't worry, they validate. * The door is heavy like a whale but it does open. * If you have allergies to nuts, let them know as many items are incorporated with nuts. * Come on Wednesdays as they have girl dinner (tailored menu for 40 bucks per person) which sounds like a time. * Oh and make reservations( just make sure it's the right location) * Lastly, if you sit in a booth on either side the views are amazing. One is a view of the kitchen and the other is a view of the outside. Choose wisely!

This place was supa nice! Really great open atmosphere. Service was top notch. The guac was different than any other guac I've had, with walnuts, pomegranate seeds, and a secret spice that added a level of mystique.... Delish. Asf. Taquitos and flautas were quality as well. This place was great!

We went to Puesto for a team dinner on a Tuesday night. It was a taco Tuesday so tacos were half off, however it feels kinda crazy to pay the full price for the tacos. The service was great and there was tons of seating. It did feel a little loud in the place, but nothing too overwhelming for conversations. We got the guac and elote. The elote was pretty good and on par for what you'd expect. The guac tasted like there was a lot of lime in it (this is a pro for me since I love lime). I got the quesabirria taco and was thrown off that it wasn't the typical goat meat and didn't have any consume to compliment it. I also thought it was an interesting twist that the cheese was fried around the meat. It wasn't bad, but again I only felt fine paying for the tacos since it was half off. I don't think people come here for authentic Mexican food, more so for the vibes and maybe drinks... not a bad experience but would go somewhere else if I'm looking for more bang for my buck.

I honestly have to give Puesto some creativity points. Their tacos are unique and 50% off on taco tuesdays. Their dirty soda had coke and horchata and I really enjoyed it as an alternative to an alcoholic beverage. Their taco of the month was interesting, it was a fried chicken with slaw. I'm a big lover of their Mexican candy shot. I always order one when I visit, best drink ever. We were sat by the kitchen which was fun, but the glass can emit some heat. This is honestly a pretty fun place to eat at.

Puesto never disappoints. I came in craving the fish ceviche, and it was just as good as I remembered--bright, fresh, and full of flavor. The classic guacamole is simple in the best way, letting the quality of the ingredients shine The fish tacos were the highlight for me: perfectly cooked, packed with flavor, and the kind of dish that makes you want to order another round. For dessert, the pistachio sponge cake was incredible - light, not overly sweet, and a perfect finish to my meal. I just wish they served hot tea but it's okay Great food, great energy, and a place I always look forward to coming back to

Went out for at night with Coworkers to catch up. This place specializes in tacos but not your authentic kind that you find from food trucks. They are mainly dressed up with sauces and small portions with high prices. The filet mignon and birria tacos were rather good but not amazing. Each were missing many of the ingredients you'd find at a legit restaurant. Service was decent and the waiter was very nice. The area and decor was modern and great for a date night. I think this place is for those who enjoy taco presentation more than authentic flavors.

Friendly, attentive service. Nice, vibrant ambience in the middle of a strip mall in Irvine. I got the grilled fish taco with beans with iced tea. Fish seemed fresh and the tacos were tasty. Their guacamole fight is very interesting - with Parmesan, peppers and few other variations. Parking was easy to find.

    Zien T.

Delicious tacos along with tasty chips and salsa! The guacamole was also excellent. The atmosphere was inviting and very kid-friendly, and the service was warm--they checked on us often, which was a nice touch. I'll definitely be back! Tacos run about $12-15 each, and the quality is absolutely worth it.

We stumbled upon this place while in the area looking for dinner. The restaurant has that fancier dinner vibe. It was a weekend night, but there was no wait. We were seated properly and greeted warmly by our server. She offered us water and chip and salsa to start. We got the chicken bowl and the beef enchilada. The food was good but they were on the saltier side for my liking. Service was amazing, our server checked in on multiple times and make sure we got everything we needed. Overall, solid place for a date night; however, I wouldn't recommend if you're looking for a casual dinner with Mexican food. There are definitely great cheaper options.

Ask the Community - Puesto Park Place

    How is parking?

Large structure next to Puesto. Can get really packed during some crazy peak times, but I've only witnessed that one time. Usually there are no problems with parking

Do you have live mariachi performances at this restaurant and if so, when?

No, not the vibe here at all. It's more of a trendy bar vibe than authentic Mexican food

What days and times are your happy hour? Is their a menu for happy or what's on it

Unfortunately, Puesto cancelled their traditional happy hour. What used to be the best happy hour in OC is now gone. That's really unfortunate for those of us who save money to be able to enjoy high quality food & drink during the week. It seems…

Hello! Is the only vegan item, guacamole? 😑

No, mushrooms tacos, esquite are good too! Salads

What time is the Happy Hour and on what days?

Their website says happy hour is Monday - Friday from 3 pm - 5 pm. Dine-in only.

Do you have any vegan taco options or can you make one? Also do you have any dishes with vegan meat such as Impossible or Beyond?

Yes they do have vegan tacos. I tried their mushroom tacos and it was so good. You can check out their menu.

Can you make reservations for lunch? I only see reservations on open table for dinner. TIA

    Yes

How is the service here compared to their other location? Hope it's better 🤞

The staff has always been very friendly, helpful and attentive. The only other location I have been to is in Irvine off Irvine Center Drive and their service has always been good as well. I mostly sit at the bar, but service at a table has been…

    Is this place dog friendly?

Hi Aly, We are absolutely Dog friendly.

I'm trying to make a reservation in May. No times available. Is this true?

Have you tried calling? If you are looking for Cinco de Mayo they may already be booked. Also you can try their second Irvine location near the Spectrum.…

I just tried every Tuesday from now until July and I can't seem to get a reservation. Do they have a block on Tuesdays or is it really that popular?

Might have a block as it is Taco Tuesday and it Does get crowded but we usually go and check to see if any tables are open (in person)

They have tons of parking in this shopping center. They share it with TONS of other places. One of my BFFs saw this on an Instagram video and wanted to check it out. *They do take reservations When we came in we checked in with one of the waitresses. She said she would seat us in a minute. To be honest, she did forget about us. A waiter walked up to us and asked us what was going on (we were standing there for around 7 - 10 minutes) and we told him we had a reservation for the speakeasy. He immediately apologized and sat us. This camp themed speakeasy has a couple booths. It's on the smaller sides. Which, speakeasy's are usually small to begin with. I did not get the waitresses name, my friend and I were busy catching up. The waitress was nice, but not attentive. I will say service was a 2/5. However, the actual restaurant, cozy pine is located in, was packed because of the World Cup being on TV. So I definitely was not going to complain The food Our food order did come out extremely FAST. Faster than our drink orders. -the campfire guacamole -BBQ shoestring fries (had bbq seasoning all over them so it tasted like a BBQ potato chip) -Glamping plate (charcuterie board) -steak tacos (one without onion and cilantro -churro affogato Again, the food was VERY fast!! And to be honest it wasn't that bad. I'll say, speakeasy's usually shine in the drink department vs food. Drinks -Lycheed and Loaded Ketel One, lychee liqueur, lemon, elderflower. This was extremely delicious! If you don't like to taste your alcohol? Go with this. It was really refreshing. Hand this to me at a spa and I'd be the happiest gal in the world -Camp Anawanna $17 Graham cracker-infused bourbon, licor 43, chocolate, torched marshmallow (the waitress catches the marshmallow on fire at the table) This one was stronger and I didn't think it was overly sweet despite the ingredients I think they had a good selection, especially for a small speakeasy. I have been to better, so I don't think I'd return. Especially since the service was not that great. We still had a good time and recommend for every speakeasy lovers list.

When you go thru the sliding doors it immediately transports you to a different time and place. Its very dark. Sleek. And modern. Yet simple. I love the big screen tvs with areal views of New York. It just made it feel like we were in a high rise building or a blimp with a birds eye view of many of New Yorks beautiful landmarks. The couches were extremely comfortable too. Great cushion. You just sink into them. Its a small area but great utilization of the space, making it seem large and spacious. The chairs too were really comfortable to sit in. We spent 3 hours in there and it flew by so quickly. The ambiance and feel here was just truly top notch. Our waitress was Brandy, or is it Brandi? She was super cool. She was a one person crew. Basically getting orders, making drinks, cleaning tables, and checking in on us. And she did it with great charisma, attitude and personality. Super knowledgeable about the menu. Made great drinks quickly. And was just super personable. Great job from her!! Her attitude and demeanor really matched the top tier aura they were going for here. They have a great selection of drinks. From more alcohol forward drinks to light and fruity drinks to refreshing drinks. I really did enjoy their drink selections. We had a total of about 6 drinks and they were all really good! We got there: 1. Fox's wedding- light, seeet and refreshing. I love the origami piece that Brandy put on it as well. Looked so beauitful. 2. Guava chiffon pancake- it was tropical, light but also had a coconut feel to it. It was really good. 3. The Monroe- this was light but tart, but not too tart. Silky with fruit forward notes. 4. Miso honey butter corn- rarely is a savory cocktail good. But this one was pretty good. The butter fat washed burbon was super intriguing. But it works well 5. When pigs fly- came with a paper airplane on top!! Haha. Love the playfulness. But the drink was so complex yet smooth. It was really good. For the bourbon drinkers, this one is for you! 6. Smoked Old Fashion- presentation is amazing. Comes in a big glass case that has cherry wood smoke inside. When you open it, you get that intense smell of burning cherry wood. Drink is smokey but in a very good way. Tasted amazing. A true classic done right. Their food menu is very encompassing and thorough as well. From full on burgers, to flat breads, to appetizers and small bites, to salads. They have a little of everything!! We ordered the following: 1. Pub nachos- this was an extremely large plate of loaded nachos. Super crunchy and fresh. I loved the generous amount of Chipotle chicken on top. The pepper jack queso sauce and jalapeño crema was a really good sauce. It just binded everything together. The beans and the fresh jalapeño just really all worked together. It was super good. Kept you grazing and munching away, but never becoming too full (more room for their drinks!!). 2. Figgy piggy flat bread- it was ok. Sweet caramel onions and fig jam, paired with some pungent cheeses. I thought it was pretty good. 3. Shrimp street tacos- 1 order comes with 2 tacos. They were good sizes. I love their tacos. So flaverful. Everything works together. Just tasted amazing!! Overall everything about this place is 5 stars. The ambiance, the decor, the exclusivity. The service. The drinks and the food. As i said 3 hours went by so fast!! Definitely a must try when in the area. And when you stay at the Marriott, its just a simple walk back to your room. And we left feeling happy and amazing. We opted to order the following meats à la carte: the KSC signature tableside kalbi (which they marinade on the spot and serve with asparagus), then the 48-hour marinated kalbi Seoul style AND Suwon style. I personally liked the Seoul style the most (I felt like it was the perfect balance of salty and sweet), followed by the KSC signature (sweeter than Seoul), and lastly the Suwon style - but they were all superrr tender and full of flavor~ The inside definitely gives off a classy modern vibe, so it's perfect for date night and/or special occasions.

While cooking, the server dropped a piece of grill beef onto the table and put it right back onto our plate. (Hmm. I guess the 5 second rule applies? :) ) We ordered potato cheese pancake, which was good but very oily. The cold noodle was interesting. It came with some sauce (least favorite item). The brisket was my favorite. And the kalbi was pretty good- very tasty

The restaurant is…read morepretty big so there's kind of two different indoor seating areas plus an outdoor area, as well as seating around the bar. The main indoor seating area was mostly full but the other areas only had a few people. We asked to sit outside since it was a beautiful day/evening, and they were happy to accommodate us. On the reservation request I had noted that we were celebrating our anniversary, so once we were seated they brought out a little "Happy Anniversary" card signed by the whole staff. It was a very thoughtful touch! We started by ordering a Summer Barrel Aged Cocktail to drink. It reminded me of an Old Fashioned. It was good! I personally tend to like sweeter drinks a bit more, but I was in the mood for something different from my usual and this sounded like an interesting flavor combination, so I was happy with my choice. Next we ordered short rib croquettes as a starter, and the seafood risotto and the branzino as the mains. The food didn't take very long to come out. The short rib croquettes were amazing! It definitely left you wanting more. I honestly would have ordered that as a main, it was that good. The seafood risotto was so rich and flavorful. It had a creamy, buttery texture with a mild seafood flavor but not overpowering. It was a beautiful saffron color too. The branzino was also excellent. In short, we loved all the food and we left feeling very full with even a bit of food leftover. We skipped dessert since we were just too full. Overall, everything about this place was great - good service, great food, and a nice ambiance. The parking situation is also super easy since there's a large garage right next to it and they validate. It seems to be in a business park so the garage was pretty empty by 6pm on a Friday.

The cooking uses quality ingredients and love and care. I was here on business by myself and was seated immediately and after a quick look at the menu decided on the devil's cut ribeye a steak. It comes with a massive amount of oven, roasted potatoes and green beans. I also got a side salad with it as well which was way too much food for one person. The entire thing was big enough for two normal or maybe even three light eaters. The steak was excellent with a sweet coffee rub with a slightly sweet mapley taste. I could only finish about half and save the rest for the next day. Even though I was full, I decided to try the fried apple pie because it was recommended by many other reviewers. It was actually amazing. It was the dish that was highly recommended by the server and she was not wrong. The ice cream on top was probably House made and the pie itself was like a gourmet version of a hostess apple pie but of course with much higher quality ingredients and it was delicious. The vibe of the restaurant is exciting. It is a fun place to visit with the visual aspects such as the bird cages in the window case. Oak barrels used for aging whiskey are set around and the general vibe was very attractive. Everyone was having a great time and making quite a lot of noise from all the conversation and the music, but people were really enjoying themselves. If you want to have a quiet conversation with someone, this is probably not your place, but if you want a fun time with that kind of vibe, it is an excellent place. I recommend Bosscat highly.

Our server was also the bartender, Javier, who was really on top of everything and even indulged in a little movie chat with us. We were never forgotten being the only ones sitting outside. We had a noon reservation for a large team lunch (party of 14). Upon arrival, the main indoor…read moredining area was relatively empty, though the patio was completely packed--clearly, it's the popular spot. The restaurant has a lovely atmosphere, and I can easily see it being a great date spot in the evening. Because our group was so large, I couldn't sample or photograph every dish, but here is my breakdown of the items ordered near my end of the table: 01. Arugula Salad (half) $8.00 - 3 Stars - Light and exceptionally simple, topped with red onions and parmesan cheese. Frankly, it was a bit too simple, the dressing was entirely unmemorable. 02. Prime Rib Dip $25.50 - 3 Stars - This arrived looking very promising. The fries were perfectly crisp, and the creamy horseradish packed a powerful punch (it will definitely clear out your sinuses). Unfortunately, the thinly sliced meat was slightly overcooked, dry, and a bit chewy. While the au jus was flavorful, I've definitely had better prime rib dips elsewhere. 03. Spicy Fried Chicken Sandwich $20.50 - 2 Stars - This was the biggest disappointment of the lunch. It looked great initially, but hiding a layer of mashed potatoes underneath the chicken was a strange choice that made the bottom bun instantly soggy. The chicken itself lacked crunch, likely because it was completely doused in what tasted like standard Frank's RedHot sauce (tangy and vinegar-forward, but not actually spicy). No wonder there are barely any photos of this online; I wouldn't order it again. 04. Lobster Roll $32.00 - 3 Stars - Beautifully presented with large chunks of lobster and a side of sweet potato fries. However, at this price point, it felt overpriced for the portion size. The flavor was a bit bland and lacked a "wow" factor. While I appreciated the use of butter lettuce to keep the roll from getting soggy, the lobster meat didn't actually fill out the bread end-to-end. On the bright side, the butter sauce was quite good. 05. Creme Brulee $12 - 3 Stars - A very standard crème brûlée with a decent portion size. It was served completely chilled, which threw off a few of my colleagues. While it's traditionally served chilled, some places serve it closer to room temperature, so this really just comes down to personal preference. 06. Fresh Seasonal Cobbler $12.00 - 3 Stars - As a massive fan of cobblers, I was underwhelmed. The berries were cooked down so much that they lost their form entirely, taking on a jam-like consistency. The crust layer was incredibly thin and soggy, making the whole dessert feel mushy. Luckily, the vanilla ice cream helped cut through the intense sweetness, but overall it was just okay. LOCATION/PARKING - The restaurant sits right on the corner and shares a parking structure with Monaco, The Trough, and Izakaya Osen. Valet parking is available, and the restaurant validates for 90 minutes. CUSTOMER SERVICE - The service seems to depend heavily on who you get. While the staff was generally friendly, they weren't particularly attentive, and we constantly had to ask for refills. To be fair, assigning just one server to a party of 14 is a tough ask, this venue is likely better suited for smaller groups. VERDICT - Overall, the menu feels a bit overpriced for the quality of the food. If my team decides to host another lunch here, I wouldn't object to returning.
