I am thinking this Puesto location is the best location in California. My wife and I have been to 4 or 5 different locations and I have to say the vibe and atmosphere at the Los Olivos location is perfect. We've been to this location multiple times now and each time it has been the best experience. Everyone who works at this location is awesome and friendly and the food is always top tier! On our most recent visit we were blessed to be waited on by Cece, she was awesome! Amazing service and a great smile the whole time! Came here near closing. Had the chips and salsa as the free opener. Ordered the chicken bowl and that was good and flavorful. Also ordered the filet mignon taco. The cheese seems a bit softer than usual and hurried. Wife loves how the cheese forms on the steak normallly, but this time, not so much. We've been coming to Puesto quite a bit because we discovered Taco Tuesdays and Perfect Thursdays lol. Definitely make reservations - we haven't had to wait TOO long for our tables when we do. I take a good look around every time and note how cute the decor is and kind of fit for a nice relaxing time with chips and salsa. So, if you haven't been in a while, chips and salsa costs money now. But if you get a guacamole, the chips and salsa are thrown in. And if you get the guac, I highly recommend the Perfect Guac with the parmesan cheese. I avoided it for the longest time cuz I mean c'mon - parm? But it totally works. Other highly rec apps are the potato taquitos and the shrimp ceviche (with the passionfruit sauce). Yum! They just updated their menu with some new tacos - for this month, they've got an octopus taco - 10/10 recommend. They also have a grilled shrimp taco (they still have their tamarind shrimp) which is 10/10. I also love their Calabacitas taco which replaced their Raya (peppers and cactus) taco. And if you want 3 tacos but don't want to be super full, they can be made with lettuce wraps. The only taco I wasn't a huge fan of was the lobster one. The one time I ordered it, the lobster wasn't the highest quality and I noticed a lot of....antenna meat? Just crumbles. So I haven't gotten it since. Drinks - Coconut margarita Dessert - Pistachio Tres Leche Service is great but just be aware sometimes on Taco Tuesdays, it can take a bit longer. Recently tried out this location and it was a good experience for the most part. The staff was friendly and welcoming and the food service was great. There's also a lot of parking available as it's located in a shopping center. I ordered chips and salsa, which tastes great! The chips are 10/10 here for sure. I also ordered two tacos, the Huitlacoche Mushroom Taco and the grilled shrimp taco. The mushroom taco has potential, but I think some work is needed on the taste as it lacked the molé taste and had a strangely bitter aftertaste without it. The grilled shrimp taco, however, tastes great. Overall, I still enjoyed my experience and I'd still come back to try out other items on the menu. Hope you get a chance to try it out. read more

Avary was our server. She carded us for our Pina Coladas and Paloma. She also made sure to ask us if we had any dietary restrictions prior to taking our order. I got the Wagyu Brisket Taco and Hero Taco (Lobster, Steak, and saucy strong onions). The Wagyu Brisket Taco is spicy but has good flavor. The meat was also good but it wasn't easy to bite through. I felt like I was tearing up the taco trying to bit into the meat. The Hero Taco was delicious aside from the lobster. Better off getting the steak taco with some string onion rings. The Pina Colada had good flavor. Sweet without being overly. Didn't feel a buzz since the tacos were so filling. The bathroom is toward the back to the left of the restaurant. It's clean. Have frequented this location more times than I can count. Usually for taco Tuesdays because it's a great deal! Love the tacos! Favorite is filet mignon, sometimes the meat can be chewy which isn't great. Carnitas has a great taste but they need to drain the oil from it better, always comes dripping in oil and it makes all the other tortillas soggy. Chicken Al pastor is also delicious to me! I have friends that love the quesabirria and fish tacos, I'm just not a fan. Chips come out warm, when they're not busy. But that won't be that case on Tuesdays. Salsa is great. Guac is delicious but super pricey. Margaritas are not worth it to us! All ice. Some juice. Barely any tequila. The passionfruit agua Fresca is delicious, just very sweet so make sure you have your water glass filled up. Overall, if you want great service and food that comes out in a timely manner, do not go on a Tuesday. Any other day will work but you just have to pay full price ($12 for a steak taco). But if you don't mind waiting a bit, taco Tuesday deal is hard to beat. Fun, colorful decor. Big space so it never feels too crowded or loud, you can carry a conversation. read more

I really liked the concept here, but the menu feels a bit limited--I was surprised by the lack of popular Mexican staples. The pricing is also quite high for the quality of the entrees; $13 for a single beef taco felt steep, and the $19 lobster was unfortunately mediocre. That said, the guacamole flight was excellent, and both the cocktails and mocktails were top-notch. Great vibes for drinks, but the food value wasn't quite there for me. Puesto is also so fun to go to! Our waitress (forgot to get her name) was so nice and on top of it during our dinner! The tacos are incredible and always worth going on a Tuesday for the killer deals! This time around I got the hero taco and the ribeye (new this month). The hero is always absolutely delicious and it's a stable for me but this ribeye one is questionable. My mom and I went here, it was my first time and it was such a great experience! Our server, Jacob, was very attentive, helpful and down to earth. All of our food was delicious!! My mom got a filet mignon taco & Caesar salad, both of which were great! Before our food came out, we shared the guacamole & salsa which was delicious and had good sized pieces of cheese in it which made it soooooooo yummy. We had a minor inconvenience, no need to mention the circumstances, and Elise, the manager came out and was more than accommodating to us. Going here, I realized that all of the staff wants the guests to have that top notch experience and it really shows in their food and service provided!! We also got a dessert, the vanilla ice cream with churros and that was honestly the best I've had in soooooo long. I recently came back to Puesto, Los Olivios with my coworkers for lunch. We had volunteered down the street and came in for lunch. I've had service issues in the past at the Park Place and Los Olivos Puesto but I was with a group and we were hungry. We were seated just before the rush. Since we were waiting for the rest of our party to arrive about 4 more parties were seated. Our last coworker walked in and we could barely get our server to come take our order. About 15 minutes in she took our drink order and guacamole order with chips . Then she disappeared again. As we watched her run from table to table our drinks and chips arrived 10 minutes later. My drink, Peach and Habanero Margarita, was wrong, it was a regular margarita. I decided instead of flagging her down just to drink it. Our table was frustrated because we were on a time crunch and other tables were waving her down to take their orders. 10 minutes after we got our drinks, we were all looking at the time, we flag down the waitress to take our lunch order. I ordered the Chicken Flautas and I wasn't impressed at all. When the bill came we noticed a 4% surcharge. When we questioned the waitress about it she explained that since they haven't raised their food prices in a while they add a surcharge to the bill. I thought the passion fruit ceviche was unique and good. Very fresh which I loved. Kinda reminded me of a sweet and sour sauce. My 14 year old daughter demolished her tacos. This has happened 3/3 of our last visits so I HAD to post about it :/. That said... Food and ambiance here is EXCEPTIONAL. A very fun and new age take on gourmet tacos. Highly recommend the Heroé taco! Servers are very friendly and knowledgeable and will give you good guidance on the menu. Btw, the kids menu here SLAPS. Big portions for niños. Two tacos, beans and rice, and Agua Fresca for $12! I'm a big Puesto fan and have visited three of their locations many times over the years. There are high-end restaurants in places like Las Vegas and Beverly HIlls that serve plates with beautifully presented morsels of food that can be eaten in two bites for an exorbitant price. This restaurant pretends to be one of those but their attempt at being upscale fails miserably as they are a bogus version of such places. We came for a quick dinner and sat inside rather than the patio. The interior is colorfully decorated with lots of greenery everywhere. We were provided complimentary chips and salsa and also ordered an overpriced bowl of guacamole. I decided on two carnitas tacos and a horchata to drink. Service was fast but impersonal. My horchata was served in a small, thin glass and within 4 or 5 sips was gone. Admittedly, it was an excellent drink with a vibrant cinnamon flavor...but tiny. My tacos were little, blue corn tortillas and consisted of tender pork with crispy (aka: burned) cheese and tomatillo sauce along with a slice of avocado. They were good and presented beautifully but not worth the ridiculous price. Give me a legit street taco over these any day. My wife got two filet mignon tacos, which I can't comment on, other than her two amounted to $24 (my two totalled $20). Add a 4% surcharge (a mystery charge that should just be labeled "mandatory tip for management" and generally just pisses me off) and add the server's tip and tax...our total came out to over $80 for: four small tacos, a child's size horchata, and a small bowl of guacamole. We left still hungry. Look, the food was delicious but the prices charged are inarguably excessive. I NEVER complain about prices, especially if the food and service are worth it, but what Puesto charges for what they deliver is ludicrous. read more

Food is overpriced but not bad. Giving low stars mostly because the business charges a surcharge. I believe employers should just pay their staff a living wage and not force customers to supplement it. Also, how does it make sense for the health benefit surcharge to be a percentage of the meal when the employee's health cost is fixed? This location is waaaay better than the location off Michelson. I came here with 2 others on Taco Tuesday around 5:30PM and it was packed. Good thing we made a reservation! The ambiance was classy and elevated. We had excellent service all throughout out meal- even when the kitchen brought out the wrong tacos for one of my friends. For birthdays, they provide a free tres leches cake or candy shot. They even gave me a free taco coupon with a hand-signed letter from the staff. How sweet is that!? Everything we had was downright delicious. Lobster tacos (unique in flavor and buttery), chicken tacos (juicy and shredded chicken with mango salsa- yes, please), chips and salsa (1 salsa cup per person- that's the way to do it!) and the tres leches cake (so so good, it was unreal). There was the main restaurant area, the bar and also a side area which was more open to the outside natural lighting. The restaurant had a nice balance of modern and warm earthy decor. Loved the use of the greenery. We ordered the guacamole, potato taquitos, chicken flautas, short rib bowl, mushroom tacos, fish tacos and chopped salad. The food was flavorful but the price point was a little on the high side. One taco is about $10 and for 3 chicken flautas it was $23. We were also hoping for a little more vegetarian options. The hostess that seated was warm and friendly. The service however felt a little slow even though the restaurant was not busy. We also had to flag her down a few times to get her attention. Came here for Mother's Day. Walked out disappointed. Issues 1. Taste I understand people come here for a slightly premium experience, however the food taste does not meet expectations. Eg The crispy shrimp tacos tasted bitter. 2. Quantity/price Shrinkflation is real, the tacos here are super tiny and super expensive. For the price of one tiny taco you can get an entire meal at places like chipotle. 3. Service Service was okay, some orders took far long time to deliver. An appetizer was delivered after the main course. 4. Food options While I appreciate a limited menu at most place a there are just not enough entrees or choices. Specially if you have dietary restrictions. The team did realize this was an issue and took it off the bill. However that in no way makes up for the subpar experience. Also what's up with the 4% service surcharge!!! In summary, I think it's overpriced for the quality/quantity/taste/experience. Will not be coming back to say the least. read more

First red flag was me booking for 2 at 7pm, got there at 7, then had to wait ten minutes to be seated.... Whats the point of a reservation if its going to take as long as a walk in. Server was boring and seemed very tired but did his job good. After waiting for the table, we had to wait another 35 minutes for food which was a bit obnoxious considering how small the plates were for $30 each. Speaking of plates, the birria was decent but was a bit over spiced and the enchiladas had pretty dry chicken and had too much lime.
