Dr Shanchuk has been my primary doctor for almost 20 years, also my sons'. I am writing this…read morebecause I just read negative reviews of her. God knows why people have negative reviews. I was dealing with an autoimmune disorder, and for years, I can pledge that she is a very kind, good doctor, with good knowledge. I can see she is also knowledgeable in diet and natural healing. The negative comments are either from competition or people who love to criticize, no matter what. Or have some clinical imbalance. She is very busy, because people like it. Most of her patients have been with her for years. Dr. and her staff are always professional. During the time of COVID-19, I was hospitalized for three days. I realized her office did not accept my new insurance. Dr. Shanchuk, without pay, would take care of me for 3 days to make sure I was in good hands. Just because she was my doctor for so long. My adult son loves her, too. Speaks very highly of her knowledge and professionalism. All this can be verified. So, I have no idea how someone can write bad comments about her. No one asked me to write these comments. I just happened to read all comments, and I could not believe.

During these months we were at Yackman at Lutheran General Hospital, however unfortunately we never really had " A Pediatrian" someone soley for just my daughter that we would see on a consistant basis. I think being that it is a larger group we never really could get the same doctor and there was a lot of turn around. We then saw another doctor that was not a great fit. Just today we had our first appointment at NorthShore Pediatrics with Dr. Charnond. What a great first impression. Not only was the office warm and inviting but so were was the staff at the front desk as well as Dr. Charnond. We waited for no more than 10 -15 min. Dr. Charnond completely took time to go through all of my daughters past history as well as her current condition in order to see what could help reduce her asthma symtoms so that she could have her surgery. This was 1 HOUR and 15 min!! Never feeling rushed. I'm not sure if we received all this attention because it was our first time there, but it definitaly was a great first impression and I give them a A+. My husband and I felt very comfortable and didnt feel rushed or stupid for having our own opinions or thoughts on certain factors that could be affecting our daughter. Our son will be seeing her soon for his 2 year old check-up. I hope to call this our pediatric "home" and finally have one doctor that can follow our children as they grow.

Worst experience I've ever had with a medical office. The lab staff and receptionists were…read moreextremely unprofessional -- they rushed me off the phone, didn't listen to my concerns, and repeatedly miscommunicated information to the doctor. When I tried to ask questions about serious side effects from a prescribed medication, I was spoken to rudely and even yelled at. I've personally known someone who died from complications due to medication side effects, so I take this seriously. I called the office seven times trying to get a safer alternative, and each time I was either ignored, misunderstood, or given another medication with severe side effects. Instead of showing concern, they made me feel like a burden for simply wanting treatment that won't put my health at risk -- especially considering my age and medical history. I was brought to tears by how I was treated. I am absolutely done with this office and will never return. It's clear that they prioritize speed over safety, do not take individual risks or age into account, and have no interest in genuinely communicating with or supporting their patients.
