Came in on a Saturday to buy the Babolat Pure Aero Pro 98 racquet for my son. I was really impressed with the quality selection of pro racquets and brands. Service was great and they recommended a compatible string set and offered to have it done same day. I asked for a racquet cover, as they don't usually don't come with one, and the store salesman found one in the back free of charge for me. For #500, it's gotta be TENNIS! Across the street from MSAC, sits this tennis shop. It has tennis racquets, badminton racquets, racquetball racquets, shoes, strings (lots), bags, and accessories. There's a small selection of clothes. The guy who runs the place is a very nice guy. He's got two Babolat Star 3 stringing machines and a Prince Neos 1000 stringer as well. (As of 12/21/2011, the tennis store has a new Babolat Star 5 stringing machine). He gives prices below MSRP and does an excellent job of promoting tennis in the area. Give him a try! I've been to this store a couple times, and it's got pretty much everything you would need for tennis (or badminton). Their stringing rates are reasonable, their stringing speed is good, and they're very friendly. The owner (Jason) can be very quiet and generally keeps to himself, which might put off some people. I'm fine with it, since I never speak to store employees unless I need their help with something. The prices can be very competitive, depending on the product. Being a specialty store, they also carry some of the more niche tennis items that general sporting goods stores don't have, such as certain grips, dampeners, shoes, bags, string, racquets, etc etc. The only complaint I have with the store is that their selection is quite limited. The inventory is up-to-date for the most part, which means they won't have much inventory of older models. But overall it's a very minor complaint. read more

Good Inventory, Great selection of equipment. This is my go to Tennis Pro Shop ever since High School. Customer service is Ok. Not the best but that is not my priority when I buy my equipment. Owner is honest and answers questions from years of experience in the industry. Also, I prefer to feel my racquet in my hands before I make a purchase. Good tennis and equipment knowledge from staff here. Wide selection of strings with next day service. Racquet prices are competitive for a Brick & Mortar establishment. Just left this store, very disappointed! Drove all the way from yucaipa to Purchase a few items for my son and daughter who have been playing in tournaments for a year and needed some new goods. From the minute we walked in we were not even greeted with a hello or can we help you with anything. Got our badminton racket here. The price here charges about 10 dollars more than Id you order online. There are usually deals online but racket edge sells the sale price of rackets That being said the owner here was very helpful. He assisted us on the choice of rackets as well as told us about string tension. After we got the racket he even helped us put on the grip, which looked absolutely perfect. Afterwards he showed us how to use the racket and even practiced hitting the birdie to show us where the racket sweet spot is . Great experience and very helpful in badminton/tennis maintenance. I've been coming here ever since I was playing Junior tennis. If I broke a string on my tennis racket during a morning practice, and I needed it for a tournament at 6 pm, I could bring my racket here and it'll be ready before the tournament. They have many selection of strings. (I usually get top spin strings). Jason is a cool owner. he would always ask me: "Pick up your racket tomorrow?" And if I say: "I actually need my racket for today." He would be alright with it and let me pick up my racket before they close. I usually just come here to get my racket restrung, pick up some tourna grip, and get a can of tennis balls here. But they do have a good selection of tennis rackets, tennis shoes, and gear here. Oh yeah. Don't forget to take off your dampener from your racket if you need to get it restrung. It'll be lost forever when you go pick it up. lol Parking: Parking can sometimes suck here. Others rated high maybe you were lucky to encounter Matsu to help you. He's polite and greets you everytime. The owner is a different character. He'll quote you one price, then charge you a different price when you pick up your raquet. Oh, and he'll tell you you're wrong. I was charged $35 to re string a raquet with all my OWN parts, string and grommet when he quoted 20. Nothing on my receipt said 35 and there's no price chart posted anywhere in the store. read more

The owner, Jason, is the most unfriendly, unhelpful shop owner that I know. If you simply walk into the store to buy something and not ask questions, he'll just quietly do the transaction with you, without a smile, without any comments. If you start to ask a few questions, his responses are very terse. If you ask too many questions, he starts getting annoyed. I have friends who also visited this store, and Jason treats them the same way. He even told a friend of mine to leave the store because he thought that my friend didn't know much about tennis (which is true because she is new to tennis, but shouldn't you patiently educate her?). The only reason he stays in business is that his racquet prices are good and he does a decent job of stringing. But he has the worst customer service, and I think people should stay away. read more

Racquet Edge provides all your tennis needs at a very reasonable price. If you need a new racquet and know exactly what spec you want, I highly recommend coming here! This is, of course setting aside the poor QC many racquet manufacturers are known for. I purchased a Pro Staff RF97 for $170, which is a steal when you look at other stores which sell them for over $200. I regularly come here to purchase grips and racquets when I need them. I can't speak for their string jobs, since a buddy of mine strings them for me. It's a pretty small and cluttered store so you have to really look carefully at what you need. They also sell a limited selection of shoes, but personally I wouldn't count on them having exactly the pairs you want. Service is about what you would expect; I've read some other reviews in which the owners were put to negative light, but I've had no such experience. I will say that you probably won't be greeted as you walk in, which threw me off a couple of times and the two guys I've seen work there seem like they don't want to be there sometimes but I'm pretty much used to it at Racquet Edge. If you need help with specs or if you're new to tennis and just generally need help with all things tennis, I'd suggest going to Tennis Warehouse, as they're larger, provide more selections, and have amazing customer service. But if you're in the area, your knowledge of tennis is good, and want to save a little money then Racquet Edge is the place to go! read more

Over the past few months, i've become addicted to Badminton. I started out with some cheap $20 rackets, but i've found it necessary to start purchasing better equipment. I've ordered rackets online, but always feel guilty as I love supporting local mom and pop shops. I randomly stumbled upon Racquet Edge online and decided to drop by on my way home from a client's office. While the Badminton section is pretty small, the store has high quality Yonex gear! I ended up purchasing a Yonex i-Slash and z-Slash for well below anything I found online. The prices are so low that I ended up asking the owner if he was sure he wanted to sell a racket for that little. The prices here are very good compared to other online retailers, and it's also a good feeling to know that you're supporting small local independent businesses. Jason the owner has been in business for a really long time, and he knows what's up. Also the employees that work there are usually college-level team players, so they are pretty knowledgeable on the latest gear and trends. I remember coming to this little-very hidden-racquet store many many many years ago, and recently I have picked up badminton again, so I thought I'll try my luck there for some shuttlecocks and racquets. Amazingly, it is still there!!!! This place has an amazing selection of badminton and tennis racquets, and amazing prices! I have looked everywhere for a Yonex Arcsaber FB, lowest price was $229, but The Racquet Edge has it for way lower! I was able to get the racquet, and got it strung right away. I first came here with my bff to have an old racquet re-wrapped a year ago. The guys were friendly and showed us around the shop and in addition to having my racquet re-wrapped we also ended up buying another racquet for my friend (they gave us a good deal)... When we went home we unwrapped the handle and the wrap was yucky and coming off. We went back and the owner re wrapped it free (great costumer service)!!!
