As a foster I see first hand the love and care they give to their dogs. Their positive reinforcement style approach to training is very effective. They are awesome at what they do. The relationship LOV builds with their veterans is apparently very strong as I often see them return to visit or freshen up their training. A great side effect to Leashes of Valor executing their mission is the fact that they bring together so many from the community on a daily basis. I donated supplies through their Amazon wish list and would conduct Facebook donation drives for my birthday month. After my own ESD passed away, we started fostering dogs in training, we had the honor to foster 4 dogs, which led me to apply for my own dog. My application was received, reviewed, and I was told we could no longer foster, because I was transitioning to the warrior program. Summertime last year, I was contacted by the [then] Canine Director I was now officially a Warrior. I was called and told by the Warrior Coordinator, now that I was in the Warrior Program, I needed to push my limits and get out of the house, take selfies of myself out and about, and all I was doing was waiting for a class date. Around the time I was expecting a class date, there was a change in leadership, and I was in limbo, patiently waiting for them to get back on their feet. Shortly after the establishment of Axel's Place, LOV's new home, I was invited to come by and meet the puppies. What a great time, one even connected to me, I was told I would be invited back to work with a dog, as I am local, I was led to believe I was being paired with that puppy. I got a call a couple days later from the Warrior Coordinator asking why I introduced myself as a Warrior. I could not believe what I was hearing, I was asked WHO told me I was a Warrior. When I told her it was the past Canine Director (and co-founder) and HER, I was told she would have to call me back, as she was going to call the CEO/(remaining)Founder of LOV to verify. When I was called back 15 minutes later I was informed I was NOT in the Warrior Program, my application I submitted (a year ago) was not reviewed yet. Folks, it was, and with the change of leadership, things have changed. I then informed her I now longer want to be affiliated with LOV, I withdrew my application. Brothers and sisters, hear me when I say, there are other organizations out there that will take better care of you, organizations that will actually keep regular contact with you, organizations that are true to their mission. I can sit here and tell you what I suspect as a reason I was treated the way I was, but what I'm telling you is how I was truly treated. Communication was weak at best, every time I sent texts to the Warrior Coordinator, as agreed to as a Warrior in the program, I rarely received a response. This organization has turned on their own, more concerned about branding, than the Veterans and dogs they promised to take care of. Do yourself a favor, pass on this organization and find another that does as they promise. I have lost time to be paired with a dog, I have lost time. I now have to start all over to be paired with a partner that will provide me with comfort and security in public.

When we went in…read moreto pick it up, the woman at the counter first said something to effect of they didn't sell the piece I was talking about. I showed them the email receipt I had and she told me that there was no receipt at the counter documenting the sale. It was at this moment that I had assumed they sold it to someone else, but nonetheless she looked up my name and was able to find the receipt on their system. We drove around to the back to pick it up and after about 10 minutes of someone looking, he returned with a supervisor. I showed them a picture of the piece and they went back to looking for it. Then, they returned a few minutes later with someone else. They did not have the desk and I had to go back into the front to get them to refund the purchase. The supervisor met me there with the receipt and was telling the cashier that the desk was sold to someone else yesterday, a full 24 hours after I bought it online. Of course they refunded me, but it was just frustrating that over 24 hours later it was sold to someone else. I would not consider purchasing anything online again unless you want to call the store immediately and have them verify that they put the sold sticker on it, as that clearly didn't happen. I wish they had a better online system that prevented this from happening with the few pieces that are listed online.

Fortunately, all other daycares in the area with openings hours did not meet my needs so we enrolled here. I know about all reports because I check the website even when the school is not forced to inform parents of serious violations & incidents. At face value they are concerning, but several factors must be taken into consideration like other parents/ kids holding doors open etc. Lees Hill has acted quickly to rectify situations with a correction action plans (firing and retraining staff). I've had minor incidents but I am not a parent who doesn't understand accidents, hits, scratches, bites, etc. occur sometimes . I've worked in daycares and if you are very cautious/overprotective/ questioning everything parent daycare may not be the right fit for you! I do not worry about my 2 year old at all anymore once she is at daycare. The most I do is miss her and wonder what she is up to, which I did not feel with her previous daycare. All of the staff from directors to part time teachers and drivers are awesome. The only area for improvement I've seen is the need to replace the carpets (they are filthy), deep cleaning toys/furniture, or renovating. The professional deep cleaning service was there a few weeks ago , but that isn't enough after so many years things must be replaced.

My children went to the Leeland Station location for nearly 3 years. Over that time, there were…read moreNUMEROUS instances of negligent behavior including specifically an assistant putting her hands on my child's neck to redirect him, leaving claw marks from her long nails (no video evidence and my son wasnt old enough to explain well plus no other adult saw ... so oh well nothing they could do). Moved his room and the next teacher, though nice, missed him going out to the playground and left him there crying and reaching through the gate. They claim it was a few minutes but he was so upset it took a long time for him to calm down - that was more than a few minutes and another teacher was the one to notice him. There are constantly new, untrained assistants rotating around and they arent observant. My son was assaulted and violated in the room out in the open and no one helped him. Police report, hospital visit and cps involved but because it was a child there wasnt much they could do. No exact date to figure out which adult and they dont record the videos anyway. That is their way out of everything. Sons were pulled immediately but it is so disturbing that when you reach out about such serious things you are dismissed by the director and assistant director. They are good friends with the person in licensing who claims they dont have a violation for that or no way to prove this... its all a big run around and no one is really looking out for your babies except for the few amazing teachers that are too good for that place. Oh and an added awful detail - they (directors) forged my signature on my sons medical document they redid. The few good qualities do not come close to having your child neglected and traumatized. My oldest had a great experience, but my youngest literally has a standing appt for therapy through the county after they heard his video account of the last incident. That trauma was 100% preventable with decent supervision and they should be ashamed of themselves for not doing more to prevent these instances before they happen. Every concern was brushed off and no matter what route I went I was known as being a pain to deal with instead of an educator and parent bringing issues to the forefront before something awful happens. LLE is their management group and clearly not correcting things from the top down. Be careful when enrolling your kids around the area - MANY daycares in the area are also LLE and ran/trained by the same people. There are better options. The violations on the DSS website do not reflect all of this - they find ways to not get the violations or it falls in a gray area with no evidence. Dont just use those in your research - reviews matter! Best of luck finding a good fit for your little one. Like I said, we had one good experience and one traumatic one - are you willing to roll the dice? I wouldnt risk it.

I toured here a year prior to touring again and enrolling a few months ago. I wish I'd listened to…read moremy gut. Throughout the enrollment process I didn't even realize who the director was because she could hardly answer any questions about facility procedures or regarding my child's food allergy. I actually thought the assistant director was the director since she was the only one who gave me information. More days than not my son was picked up with poop in his diaper, dirty hands and dirty face. I understand they are little kids and there's a lot going on. I didn't want to be that mom so I waited a while to bring it up to admin hoping it would get better. It didn't. I bring it up to the assistant director, she says she'll check in with the teachers. It gets better for a week or so but not consistently. On top of this, the door to the outside toddler playground is left unlocked and cracked with no one out there open multiple times at varying times of day. Each occasion I let a staff member know it was open. At a 630am drop off, it's open. I told a staff member and she replied that "they had a training the previous day and someone must've left it open" not seeming surprised. Concerned that this door was open all night I emailed the director asking if there was a reason for this that I wasn't thinking of. I detailed days and times this previously occurred and who I let know. She responded that this is the first she's hearing about it and she'll address it. Not even two weeks later it happens again. This tells me that she doesn't walk around the building and employees don't bring concerns to her attention. The final straw was coordinating with the director about moving my son to the next room. She thought he would get more attention and better care with the next teacher up. I definitely wanted to do this since his current room was chaos with no consistent lead teacher. Director and I agreed that he would transition for few hours a day for a week and then move up. The week he is supposed to be moved I see notifications from his old room. I call asking what's going on with the room situation. She doesn't know what room he's in, why he didn't go to the new room as he was supposed to etc. just in general no clue about the plan for my son. This was the last straw for me. The next day I grabbed his stuff and went to grab his EpiPens from the medication box where staff showed me it was since there was no one around other than the 2 opening room teachers. It was unlatched and unlocked. I didn't even find my son's EpiPen's in the medication box. Immediately emailed the director saying he wouldn't be returning or fulfilling the two weeks notice because of my documented concerns and to ask where the epi pens were since it wasn't in the box. She said that they had it, but didn't tell me where it was. We did pick up the epi pens but they were clearly not where staff previously told me it was kept. In addition to all this, one day I had my mom pick up my son. I gave her the door code and told her to bring her license. She walked in, the director was in her office with another staff member. They didn't pay her any mind. My mom asked if they needed to check her ID. They hesitated and then the director said "we'll take a look since you have it out." I filed complaints with DSS about the medication box and the door being left unlocked and open multiple times. The investigator called me and said she couldn't cite them for the door being unlocked and open since there's no specific code for that, but recommended I reach out to their district director. I did reach out to the district director who told me the door and medication box had been fixed. Too bad the center couldn't do that all along with my concerns instead of me having to submit complaints with DSS.

We had a family meeting and decided that we probably needed to hold off on the cat. We called her well before the week timeline and she never responded. We contacted her several times and she never got back to us. We had to go through the bank to get the money back because she never refunded the money as was agreed-upon. If we ever decide to go forward with getting a cat in the future, we will not go through this rescue company.

We adopted a very sweet dog from the Fredericksburg Animal Shelter. She was described as a…read more7-year-old mixed breed who enjoyed playing but was also happy to sit quietly indoors with us. We are an elderly couple and reside in an over 55 community, so we did not want a dog that was too energetic. She is a sweet dog, and we love her and are trying our best to work with her. That is the good part. Hint: We found a vet who agreed to work with us/her. The vet prescribed Prozac for anxiety. NOW! This SPCA seems to be a sloppy organization. 1. When we got there, a staff member pointed to a door and said that we could go there and see the animals. We didn't need a lot of directions, but we had to find the dogs on our own by following our own noses. 2. We had to wait a long time to meet the dog. 3. The answer to every question about the dog was, "I don't know." 4. The paperwork we received about the dog described her as 2 years old and gray. Her age on the cage was 7 and she IS brown. When the inaccuracy of the paperwork was brought to their attention, the answer was "that's ok". 5. We were ignorant and just accepted the mixed breed description. Mixed breed, perhaps but many people have stated that she looks like a pit. This has caused us a lot of grief in our over 55 community. 6. We were told her bad points are she doesn't like her butt touched & is afraid of syringes. Truth: Although she is a sweetheart to us and other people, she will not tolerate any vet. 7. She was so dirty when we got her that before going home, we had to take her immediately to PetSmart for a bath. 8. PetSmart could not bathe her with the neck collar from the shelter on and it was so tight that they were unable to get it off. The collar was so tight that my husband had to cut it off. Poor dog. How could any shelter allow a collar to be that tight?! This shelter should be investigated regarding truth in advertising and animal care.
