My first mistake was choosing this practice when the Dr. sent me a quote sheet for AN ENTIRELY DIFFERENT PATIENT! HELLO, HIPPA?!?! The woman could sue! I will be contacting her to let her know. My second mistake was agreeing to pay this place via wire transfer since they "weren't accepting credit card payments the day of surgery" when I had already put down a deposit, the contract CLEARLY stated I could pay by credit card, AND the receptionist said I could pay by credit cars no problem. The receptionist then was on maternity leave and they told me I had no choice but to pay by wire or certified funds. Hindsight is 20/20 - people probably call their credit card companies left and right to fight charges from this place. Before I start - I wore my compression garnet 24/7 and massaged exactly according to instructions every single day. I did EVERYTHING exactly as explained to me and noted in the paperwork. My results are due to the lack of skill from Dr. Heron. I 100% did NOT get the service I paid for. I am left needing a revision procedure that is going to cost me $10,000 - almost triple what I paid for a lower abdomen and love handle lipo procedure in June. Dr. Heron claims I didn't understand what a "love handle" was and it took weeks to get a response to my concerns and to schedule a follow up appointment to express my concerns. No one followed up with me per their surgery instructions after my surgery AT ALL and I had to reach our multiple times because I couldn't get a response and no one answered their phones. I finally met with the doctor and showed him my horribly uneven body and awful shape, not smooth at all, and he again insisted I didn't understand what a "love handle" was - okay, but why would you leave someone with such an awful shape?! As a professional, he should have let me know PRIOR to spending thousands that I would be left disfigured because he would not address my main area of concern in the procedure he sold to me. He said he would get back to me before weeks end with a quote on my revision. I thought maybe it would be a couple hundred to cover supplies... no. This took almost 3 weeks to receive, and he wanted to charge me ANOTHER $1K+ to FIX my body... WHAT?! Not to mention my abdomen is uneven and I have a very harsh line across my entire panty line where it is SO obvious I had lipo done above it. Another reviewer mentioned the same. I went to a well known BOARD CERTIFIED surgeon in the area for a consult for a revision procedure last week and he could not believe that a surgeon did this to me and didn't offer to correct it for free - he said I was completely uneven, and half of my love handle was not addressed leaving me with a ridiculous shelf of fat on each side, and my transitions were atrocious. This looks even worse in person, because there is such a harsh line between the start and stop. Worth noting - the pair bickered at my bedside throughout my procedure and Mrs. Heron even touched my boyfriends stomach when he picked me up and said "maybe you'll be next!" PLEASE BEWARE OF THIS DOCTOR (DR. HERON). Please do your research!! I contacted Dr. Heron after my surgery 3 times about the peeling/scab on my stomach. He intended to tell me it was bruised/infected but never told me it was a burn. I got worried after the third time I went to see him and he stated to me it was infected, he took a picture and said to me "I am going to send this to my doctor friends and see what they think". That comment I then said, I am going straight to urgent care. I went to urgent care and the doctor stated I was severely burned and at the time pus was coming out of my wound. The doctors cleaned me up and bandaged me back up. From there the doctor sent me to my dermatologist who then stated that my wound needed to be reopened and drained. She mentioned to me that I was burned really bad and it has now turned into a eschar. At that time my dermatologist cleaned my wound and sent me straight to the Wound Care Specialist where I was being treated in their office from the end of June to November. With the wound care specialist I had my wound reopened and drained etc. I had the scabs picked off by my the doctor and I couldn't take a shower for almost 5 months due to the open wound. The pain and embarrassment I was and still am suffering from what I went through HURTS ME TO MY HEART. What hurts the most is that this doctor can't own up to his mistake etc. Now, I am living with a huge keloid on my stomach because of this doctor negligence. Please look in the picture section and see some of my wounds. I have over 180 pictures of what I went through from the surgery to my end point with the Wound Care Specialist. Not to mentioned, I am still going through treatment. I will fight because I don't think anyone should have to go through what I went through especially with this doctor not caring. If I have to go to news stations, I am. I am going to do any and everything to get my pictures and story heard. I am going to FIGHT.. I have every right to. These people are rude and condescending, on top of having the most restrictive hours that make it virtually impossible to get an appointment in. The prevailing tone of the receptionist that I spoke to was that they were doing me a favor. I called to indicate that I was running late (as I was sitting in traffic on the beltway to the sterling location, something totally beyond my control), when the receptionist told me she could basically do nothing to help even though I was 15 minutes away. I found her demeanor to be very dismissive and rude, and particularly unhelpful, as I was calling with the intention of finding a solution. However, the hours are so restrictive it would be virtually impossible to come to quick resolution. This is after I had been calling for two weeks to get an appointment. If you are going to offer a groupon, put systems in place to honor it. I would advise individuals looking to use these types of services to look elsewhere, where they will respect your money and your time. If you got a groupon, call and get a credit. read more

If I could give this place zero stars I would. Please please do yourself a favor and do not see this Dr. let me share my experience with you all so you don't even contact the office. The Dr asked for an EKG to clear my mom for surgery. Since I was busy I asked if they did it in the office and they said yes and scheduled her an appt.The nurse that did it had no idea about what she was doing and had horrible attitude. She then processed to tell me the EKG results were abnormal and that she needs to see a cardiologist. I panicked and called a family member that is a cardiologist . He told me the test had multiple artifacts and that it was done incorrectly. I told the surgery scheduler and she immediately agreed to give me a refund. The entire staff knew their machine did not work and that they did not have a skilled nurse to do the test. Then, the scheduler almost harassed me with constant messages asking me to pay for the surgery before my mom was even cleared to have the surgery.Dr.Heron or his wife Barbra did not contact at all to apologize about the EKG.They ended up using the money for a lab work without consulting me and never gave me a refund. I found this center due to a recent living social promotion after trying to lose these last 20 lbs of baby weight before my Spring trip to Cancun. I have NEVER met a doctor who cared less or listened less to his patients than Dr. Heron. It was the WORST hundred bucks ever spent. First, i called for 2 weeks, leaving 3 messages before recieving a call back. Then i had to wait another 3 weeks to be scheduled in..as their Sterling office is only open like Mondays and weds. mornings. On the day of my appointment, Dr. Heron was giving a lecture to another 2 "living social" voucher folks. There was NOTHING personable about his demeanor. He just had a narccasistic attitude about himself. If anyone asked a question, he wouldn't elaborate, just kinda snubbed peoples questions..saying "you can ask questions after the lecture"..which, might I add, we never had a chance to ask (as he was too busy trying to push his latest invented product). He didn't take photos and measurements, check body fat % or come up with a personalized nutrition plan..as promised. After leaving, i went home and really read the lviving social voucher I purchased. I called Dr. Heron and explained to him that I didn't feel like I recieved what was advertised in the promotion...maybe thinking he'd tell me to come back and take measurements or something..... He commenced to get an attitude and say..." personalized nutrition plans are $600, not a measley $99, I have been doing this for 31 years and didn't even charge a hundred bucks then....if you don't like it, don;'t come back"! and hung up on me..... WHAT THA #$%^@? Needless to say, I didn't go back. I called living social right away and refunded the promotion for living social credit... THANX LIVING SOCIAL. If I had to give advice to Dr. heron, it would be... don't be a know it all... really listen to people and their concerns about the sensetive topic of weight loss... one program does not suit EVERYBODY...whether you've been in the buisness 31 years or not. Any advice to potential customers..... Don't go to Doctor's weight loss Centers...go to Physician's Weight Loss Center for a more comprehensive/ less expensive money hungry program. And if you have already purchased your Living Social voucher....refund it for living social credit....maybe then you can give your money and buisness to a merchant that values you patronage. read more

I've treated at this center for the past 2 years. Dr. Heron and his staff have been nothing but kind, efficient and professional. After checking out several centers/options, I chose to go with this group. They were extremely patient and informative when I inquired about their programs and Smartlipo. I even brought several friends with me and we each had the Smartlipo procedure done. The price was right and the results were tremendous. I had to do my part for continued weight loss but I can't say enough about the results. I'm now in my 40's and am now the same size I was in my 20's. I have been injected by Dr. Khal twice. The first time he tole me if I come back, do not buy the groupon. He stated he would honor the groupon price. That didn't happen. He charge me new prices despite the fact that when I scheduled I was told the groupon price woul be honored as well. OK....so I was ok with the price incease if he was going to do a good job. I told him I wanted a slight brow lift and I wanted to maintain some movement and look very natural. We even discussed he fact that I didn't want the wrinkles gone, I just wanted them softened. I also told him this is for my WEDDING. You think that would make somebody extra careful? Not so much. A week later my eyes and brows were very asymmetrical. I called the office, upbeat and trusting that he could fix it. His recommendation was to over-paralyze the left side too so they would match.......um, no. He injected a few spots in my right brow and said it would elevate and I would be fine again. A few weeks later, now just before my bridal shower, bachelorette party, and wedding, here I am with a right eye droop. I'm constantly trying to hold my eye open (which I can;t) and I have NO movement whatsoever in my forehead or brow, I've had a headache ever since, and my right eyelid is resting on my lashes. If you're feeling adventurous, try this place out. If you have any events or reasons to look good.....I wouldn't risk it. Go to someone who will listen to what you want. I came here with a Living Social coupon for Dysport last year and was convinced to purchase additional injections under my eyes to get rid of dark circles. It was awful, I left the doctors office with bruises and even felt nauseous during the procedure. I woke up with incredible pain under my eyes and had such intense swelling and bruising that I had to call out of work for days. I called back into the office and they said that they were not liable....nothing else. 6 months later.....still messed up. Hard lesson learned.....be very careful who you trust to do such procedures. It's been just over a year and a half since I had my procedure. The disfiguration is still there and so is the pain. I also have numbness where I had the procedure done on my arms and upper thighs. The disfiguration (lumps and dents) is so bad that when I had my routine physical, the nurse was unable to get a reading when using my left arm. Thankfully the right arm isn't as bad as the left. I live in a warm and humid climate. I can't express how miserable it is to not be able to wear short sleeves. The pain still continues and the numbness is more prominent. If you're considering smart lipo, please do more research than I did. I'm paying dearly for a quick/cheap fix. read more

1. Had Surgery in March of 2017.. (today is Oct 2018). 2. I had my stomach, sides and back done. 3. He OVERPRICED and left me VERY UNEVEN. 4. I followed pre and post after care instructions EXACTLY!!! I even ices and massaged through the pain. 5. They offered free touch up surgery but I need full body rework! I look WORSE than I originally went in because my stomach way uneven. 6. I asked for a 50% refund and my request was denied. They offered my a "free touch up" service and I have to pay $250.00 for non-surgical items. 7. He had an assistant work on me and I didn't sign paperwork agreeing to have his assistant work on me, nor did I verbally agree to this... She came in the room after he was tired and needed a lunch break so she took over after I was already on the operating table. 8. Poor me because I didn't do enough research / (Goggle or Yelp reviews) until after I already had the surgery. 9. Most places in the DMV and even as far as NYC are charging ONLY $4500-$6500 for 360 lipo (this includes stomach, sides, and back AND fat transfer to your buttocks). 7. I paid over $9400 and I DIDNT even get fat transfer to my butt. PLUS he left soooo much fat in me. He went to deep in certain areas and not deep enough in other areas. My stomach is very lumpy and uneven looking... I have scare tissue. I am emotional distressed and trauma. I have skin burns, I am disfigured. 8. DO NOT GO! Stop this business from operating. After a month of a very restrictive diet and increased exercise, I lost a total of one pound and I think it was all in my wallet. The young doctor was condescending and called me "Dear" - seriously? When I told him the program wasn't working for me, he told me the women who just left his office had lost 12 pounds in two weeks so it must be me. My advice is follow a low carb, low fat diet. Drink lots of water. Don't eat three hours before bedtime. Take a B-12 supplement for energy, and get a little more exercise. You may not lose weight but now you have Dr. Heron's recipe for limited success and your wallet still weighs the same. read more
