I'm glad I'm not the only one with a bad Groupon experience here. I also emailed twice like they ask you- no response. I called and left a message, same thing. Finally I contacted Groupon and got my money credited back to my account at Groupon. Reading the other reviews, I'm glad I did. The whole point of a business offering a Groupon is to get you to come in to try the services so you will return for full price next time- which I have done with other Groupon deals. I don't like to leave a bad review, but when a business does not even acknowledge you, and you have paid the rate they are asking (via Groupon) - that's the worst sort of customer service. read more

This is a facial entirely about your skin - Reina does it right. What i mean is, this isn't about a massage while your masque is on and not about a full relaxation experience - its about a perfect facial to get your skin on the right page. I loved the heated bed and the time she took to remove my eye makeup, make me comfortable and cleanse my skin. I received 2 masques - oxygen and refining. No extractions in this custom facial but thats ok. The Masques tingled and seemed to work very well - my skin looked great after. It's nice touch to paraffin my hands during the first masque and give me a light relaxing neck rub during the second. I was totally comfortable and warm the whole time - her room is set up very well and not much time was wasted as she prepped her supplies each time (which happens many times at other places and before you know it your 60 min facial includes 15 minutes of drawers slamming and such). She was not pushy but made some recommendations on how to help my skin in the dry winter months - I appreciated her not selling me on all their products. Interestingly, I never mentioned that I had a Groupon in any of my messages since I read on Yelp that they won't return calls if you mention Groupon. Not sure how this business survives w/o bookings? My girl Jenny, the Esthetcian at Radiance Day Spa, is THE BEST. She just changed location, used to by with another spa, but thank god she left that awful ,caddy place (names not included) and is now with Radiance Day Spa. Great part of San Carlos, ample parking for sure. It's a quiet and clean and perfect for me. I have been going to Jenny for, jeez, coming on 3 years now and not only does she do my waxing all over my body :-) incredible well, she's turned into a great friend of mine. The spa is exceptionally well maintained, the estheticians are very knowledgeable about their products, and I notice new equipment / new types of treatments periodically. I went to this place thanks to Groupon. I got what I thought was a great deal for two 1 hour massages, booked appointments for me and the hubby. Mine was at 11 am with some chick who's name started with a Y or something. I got there at 10:50, and there was paperwork involved! I finished it quickly, and started watching the time. I was escorted back to the room at 11:03 (mind you, I was not late!) I laid there for a while, and finally the lady came in. Maybe 5 or 6 minutes after.. lets say at 11:10 she started. I looked on my phone when she was gone, and it was 11:51. What happened? I thought I paid for a 1 hour massage?!! Technique was simply mediocre, and I swear the masseuse was having tea while massaging me as I got the "one hand wonder" every 5-7minutes or so. Sure enough when I got up, what's next to me but a tea cup?! There were not 1, not 2, but 3 reminders so you don't forget to tip, and 1 for Groupon to remind you to tip on full price. I think the point of Groupon is to gain new clientele. This spa is convenient for me, and I would have come back at full price had the service been good! But it was just okay... I would not come back here. I wish it was good, because I've been looking for a new spa closer to home! Main point of this story is treat everyone well, there may be a loyal client there! read more

I went here first with a GroupOn. The massage was good for a Swedish massage but on the GroupOn it clearly said a deep tissue massage was an option, and when i called to schedule the appointment, they also said my masseuse would "definitely" be able to do deep tissue. When I get there -- the masseuse informs me no one in their office can perform that "type of massage." Again - was good for a Swedish massage but wasn't what I was looking for and would have been nice if they had been straight up about it. read more

Since we are uncertain as to when we will have one on board we are suggesting you call Groupon to get reimbursement for your certificates. I do apologize for the inconvenience." I've emailed TWICE according to the instructions on my Groupon, no luck. Tried calling the spa yesterday and left a message, no luck. I want my money back! So far I've only been a client of Jenny's, but she is worth writing a review for this venue. I have never received so many compliments on my eyebrows until I had her start waxing/shaping them. It's worth not plucking! I also receive facials and microdermabrasion from her on a somewhat regular basis. Recently I've been getting compliments on my skin, too! Reina is great, she owns the place and takes care of business. She's been my esthetician for a couple of years now and I love how she shapes my eyebrows. She is really helpful and recommends great products. The last time I went I received a mini facial and it was incredibly relaxing and helped my problem area's. Botox (or something like it) it is also offered there from a specialist. The price's for treatments are affordable and appointments are easy to make. read more

Reina is the best. She fixes all of your skin issues and has such a cute and quaint spa. She is a one-woman show with a few other rooms that have other skin and body services. I also really appreciate her products as they are reasonable and she doesn't push them on you AT ALL. I have been going to Radiance for years and have referred many other happy clients. I only decided to yelp finally because I think Groupon reviews are ridiculous. Under normal circumstances (not 100 people trying to book at once), I have never had a problem scheduling. Period. Woes on trying to schedule is not unique in a Groupon situation. Why would you give 1 star when you didn't even have a service and the owner gave you your money back and apologized? You aren't rating the spa, just a groupon experience. Pay full-price for a facial, or even GET a facial, and then maybe I will listen to your review. read more

Being a bride is an expensive endeavor and having a business overcharge you just for the sake of it is pretty disappointing to say the least. First let me say that Reina who owns the spa was very helpful and accommodating when I called a month before my wedding to schedule make-up appointments for myself and 5 other ladies for my wedding. While a month might seem like enough time, I knew I should have done this earlier, but there was a mis-communication with my hair salon next door. Anyway, Reina was great in being able to juggle appointments for make-up with the already scheduled hair appointments. But after a week of coordinating, I finally got around to asking what we were going to pay for this. All of the bridesmaids and the two moms were going to be $50. Me, the bride, was going to be $125. To say I was shocked by the price is an understatement. My make-up was going to be nearly triple what everyone else was going to pay. When I asked why it was so much more, the explanation I received was that the others were getting "special event" make-up and I was getting "bride" make-up. Can someone please share with me what the difference is? Because all Reina could provide was "we do a little bit more with the bride then everyone else". Being a pretty low maintenance person, I asked if I could just go with the Special Event because I didn't really want a bunch of flash anyway. I was told no. It wasn't until I canceled my appointment with Reina and several hours later when Reina finally called back and said she would do my make-up for $75 and that for the record she was going to "reevaluate her pricing so there wasn't such a disparity in the two prices." In other words, she's going to raise the price of the "special event" make-up. I think the whole thing quite frankly is a racket and its not just this spa that does this to unsuspecting brides. In the end, my make-up was not one bit of difference from any of the other ladies. I had my make-up done while my mother-in-law watched. When I was done, she told the make-up artist that she wanted the same thing. We both got pretty much the exact same make-up done and I paid $25 more. No extra layers or conditioning or free samples. Nothing. And when I asked if I could get a small sample of the lipstick they used on me for use for the rest of the day I was told no and ended up buying a $15 lipstick that I will more than likely not use again. I know what some of you might say, "did this at least include a trial run" Nope. The original $125 did not include a free trial run. I would have had to pay extra for that. So it would have been even more expensive. On top of all of this, a week before the wedding, Reina calls and says she's rescheduling two of the ladies appointments. One was ok and did not present any conflicts, the other conflicted with a nail appointment. I told Reina this wasn't going to work and we would need to keep the original appointment. She tried a second option which was still a little bit of a conflict. I said we would do the best we can, but didn't commit to having one of my bridesmaids rush a hair and nail appointment just to accommodate a last minute change on Reina's part so that she could squeeze in another bridal party. The day of the wedding, because Reina tried to book so many people, my bridesmaid ended up waiting 45 minutes to get her make-up done. Again, I felt that Reina was so eager to make more money, that the inconvenience of her customers didn't really seem to come into play. Terribly disappointing. So word to the wise, if you are getting married and scheduling an appointment for make-up...anywhere, not just Radiance, make up any story you want, but don't tell them you are getting married. Otherwise, you'll pay more for nothing. And it really is NOTHING! And as far as recommendations go, the make-up was fine, but based on the entire experience, I wouldn't come back nor would I recommend this location for such a special occasion as a wedding. I got a SpaFinder gift certificate that I wanted to use so I found the nearest day spa with good reviews and this was it. Since I've been around a lot of construction lately I've been breaking out so I decided to try the Classic Facial with Eye Treatment. I scheduled an appointment with Reina who is the owner of the Spa. I think she definitely knows what she's doing. She examined my skin and decided on an oxygen facial (never heard of that one before). The overal facial was pretty standard, nothing out of the ordinary. I do feel like my skin was cleaner afterwards. When she did the massage part though I don't think she knows what she was doing. It was like slathering tons of massage oil on my shoulders and rubbing it. I've definitely had better ones and I've never had that much massage oil slathered on. I did like that she used lavendar parafin wax on my hands , i love that stuff! If I didn't have a gift card, I would not come here, like another review said, the prices are pretty steap for this kind of day spa. I'd rather go to Burke Williams and soak up in the steam room for this price. read more

This Spa by far is the most serene and peaceful place i have seen in the area! It's small, cozy, and the staff is very professional. I Love to see Jenny, she works wonders on my eyebrows and has such a wonderful personality. This girl has the Midas touch and just took the best care of me I could possibly imagine. She didn't try to up sell me but instead just gave me a lot of great advice to improve my skin. She was extremely professional, courteous, and talented at what she does. She doesn't try to get you in and out as soon as possible but creates an experience for you to just relax and feel like a king !! i had a facial with reina. she was really nice and paid great attention to my trouble-spots. in fact, she spent a lot of time to make sure she took care of all my concerns, more time than any other esthetician ever has during a facial (and i've had many). but i think the place is a bit too expensive. it's not a fancy spa and their products can be found at other spas too. however, reina is really nice and makes you feel important, so that might be worth the price to some. read more

I hadn't had any Botox or Restylane for over a year so was really looking forward to seeing Marian K, RN, for a treatment. Wow, I'd forgotten how great you can look-she took 10 years off my life in an hour! Marian is a true artist. She looks at your face from every angle and works slowly to get just the right effect with the products. She doesn't just do a little lip injection and wrinkle filler, but adds filler to areas (in my case the cheeks) for a more youthful appearance). In other words she's doing advanced stuff and I love it!! Very natural looking and ,to boot, she also gives makeup tips because she just loves her work I've sent many friends to her and will not go elsewhere read more

I just had an amazing facial from Reina at Radiance Sanctuary. Whatever the issue with the groupon coupon was they got it fixed as I had no problem at all booking my appointment for when I wanted it. I have gotten many facials over the years and this was probably one of the best. Radiance is a great Day Spa, and has friendly and nuturing esthetician's. Radiance has a very relaxing, and soothing enviroment. I have been going to Reina for years now she does my waxing, facials, make-up, and I get my products from her as well.I have had nothing but good experiences with Reina. She has great prices, and cute little gifts if you have a last minute need for a b-day gift or whatever, she has super cute jewlery, and candles, soaps, and cute bags to put them in.
