She pointed out where it's warmest and where it's cooler so we could choose our spot intentionally[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. [[HIGHLIGHT]]On the way to the yoga room, a kind, young man greeted me, asked my name, and introduced himself as Sage -- and yes, he was the instructor.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] This is an advanced, high-intensity class: Extreme heat; a jam-packed room (literally elbow to elbow); room surrounded by mirrors; dynamic, fast movement paired with long, challenging holds. It builds serious physical and mental strength. Utilizing your breath is a must to finish this class! What made the class exceptional, though, is how Sage guided us through that intensity. The flow begins slow and intentional, then steadily builds. The mirrors fog, the breath becomes your anchor, and Sage's words remind you that you're not who you used to be -- this is who you are now -- and that you get to choose the direction your life moves. A few times he said, "I...Love...My...Life," so deliberately that it landed in our bodies. And by the end, we were fully cooked! A bit of a line to use the bathroom & shower afterward, so I chose to leave quickly & catch some fresh air outside. I loved the experience; however, a daily practice at that level may not be sustainable. Great to sprinkle in during the week as a challenge! This place crams waaay to many people into a room. Everyone is stacked on top of each other. It's disgusting. The owner also treats employees poorly. I've heard teachers discuss their horrible pay to each other (something like $40 to teach a class) which is insane considering how many people they fit into a studio and how ridiculously overpriced it is. Sometimes the instructors don't have a mic and I can't hear any instruction over the incredibly loud horrible music that's playing. The other location shut down and I can see perfectly why. Well, I wanted to keep it my secret but I can't anymore because I'm bursting with too much pride to hold it in any longer. Gosh, where do I begin. I started my yoga journey in the fall of 2023 and had a membership at a different yoga studio in Eastbluff that wasn't primarily a hot yoga studio and had one hot class a day, and mostly only at 6am where around 3-4 people would show up at best. It wasn't a huge deal but the room wouldn't be as hot as it could have been or as I would have preferred and then a new instructor joined who actually hated the heat and started leaving the door ajar. Little things like this were making me question my membership. Then one Friday - on November 1, 2024 in fact - I wanted a 6am hot class because this other yoga studio didn't have hot classes on Fridays 6am so I went to Radiant to complete my weekly 6am set. And I never went back. I remember the date I took my first RHY class ever because quite frankly, that was the day my life took a turn and started changing - for the better! I had never felt anything like what I experienced at my first Radiant class before. The flows, the vibe, the music, the heat, and the people - now I knew where everyone was at 6am - they're all at Radiant! Even at 6am, the room was almost packed and that was SO encouraging to see and feel. If it's your first time and the sequence seems fast or intimidating, trust me and keep going back, you will pick it up in no time and sail through soon enough. 2 weeks later, I took full advantage of the 2024 Black Friday sale (happening now, yes go ahead and buy the membership, you won't regret it either!) and paid for a year upfront because I knew I'd be hooked enough to go back every day. Sometimes twice a day because why not. I can bend and flex and twist so much more than I was able to just a year ago. My endurance levels have shot up exponentially - I used to fear high planks because my shoulders would start screaming after 3 seconds - now I can hold them for a while haha. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The instructors are practically rock stars inside and out - some of the nicest, attentive people you could meet.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I've grown close to so many people at Radiant, other members, instructors, front desk staff and Darlene, the owner, a literal, down to earth angel for bringing Radiant Hot Yoga to the yogi community in Newport and beyond.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Most peak time classes sell out fast and her classes sell out for good reason. There is a class time that is right for anyone and each class always feels like one of the first. If you're an athlete or you regularly workout elsewhere, a 60-min hot yoga class is like the perfect cherry on top. If you're totally new to yoga, you can start gently at your own pace too. The instructors welcome you to lay on the mat the entire class if you need to. Just having the freedom to be able to do that and listen to your own body, other hot yoga practices like Bikram might frown on but that is also what sets Radiant apart. The heat is spicy enough to relax and soften your muscles, the dim lighting just enough to automatically slow your mind down, while parts of the flow and the music pumping is enough to give you the energy to make it a workout if you want it. I mean, I can go on but we might be here forever reading this review for another ten business days. As for some of the reviews below, yes you are inches away from the person next to you but when you're deep in your practice and meditating or working out or working inward to yourself, none of it matters and unless you're bougie and don't like being near people in general, you won't notice nor will you care. You'll just be amazed at what your body can do from just a few classes at Radiant, you might even start taking better care of it. I take my 14 yo dancer daughter with me once a week now. Overpriced and cramped studio with poorly maintained, basic facilities. Cheaper studios offer better cleanliness and friendlier service. The showers are always scolding hot, there is no water dispenser, and they pack the room so tight that you will without a doubt have others' sweat on you. The instructors barely have room to walk around so they will also drip sweat on to you. During one of my classes, there was a student who was clearly struggling and looked like she was going to pass out. She got up to leave the room and the instructor basically scolded her in front of the whole class for leaving the class because of the disruption. The woman clearly didn't look well and told her she needed air. The instructor then told her she couldn't come back in. I get not wanting disruptions, but I don't think you do that at the cost of someone's health, much less scold them in front of everyone. Additionally, the front desk staff is very rude. They were unhelpful and dismissive when I called as a new student about a website glitch that caused a missed class fee for a class I couldn't confirm booking due to a "404 Error" that displayed on their webiste. Instead of acknowledging the website issue, they repeatedly blamed me for not calling when the issue occurred. I explained I was busy with work and didn't have time to get on a call with them, plus I assumed it hadn't worked because of the error message. I emphasized I was also calling to make them aware of this issue as I'm sure it might be affecting others and causing issues for their business. I was dismissed and told regardless I should check every single time I get the error message which, by the way, happens every single time I book! I totally understand tech issues happen and I wasn't upset about that. I was calling to kindly explain the situation and make them aware. We are all adults with busy lives, to expect your paying customers to call to check every time it happens instead of taking the feedback and actually resolving the issue is crazy! If your charging customers that amount of money, the least you could do is contact MindBody to fix the issue on your website. Overall, bad experience here on multiple levels. read more

I have practiced yoga for years and all over the world, and there is truly something special about this space. Yes it is packed and hot - but that is one of the many things I love about it! The heat helps you deepen your practice not only physically but mostly mentally. Challenging you to expand the edge of your comfort zone. Magic. The sequence is nearly the same every class, which I love because it allows me to deepen my practice and turn it into a moving meditation. A perfect blended sequence of Bikram postures/style and Hot Power Vinyasa Flow. The energy in the room is always high and fun, balanced with moments of peace and stillness to help you regulate your nervous system. I've been practicing yoga for 10 years, and I can confidently say this is the worst studio I have ever been to. From the moment I walked in, the experience was nothing short of a disaster. The front desk staff, especially Diane, was incredibly unhelpful--cold, fake, and completely uninterested in providing any introduction for first-time visitors. Once I entered the yoga room, I was shocked. It was overcrowded to the point where people were practically standing on top of each other. This is a hot yoga class, which means sweat is unavoidable--but when the space is this crammed, it's impossible to focus or even breathe properly. If you don't believe me, just read other reviews--many have pointed out the same issue. And the community? Don't even get me started. The studio has an undeniable cult-like atmosphere. People stare blankly, repeating bizarre and meaningless "rules" that make no sense. It was so uncomfortable that I left before finishing my first class. I truly cannot imagine a worse yoga studio in all of Southern California. If I could give negative stars, I would. Avoid this place at all costs. read more

Can you please explain to us why there is no water fountain or 5 gallon dispenser? Considering the unusually high class and monthly membership prices of $45/drop in and $363/month -I think the studio can provide water. I was embarrassed and felt like an inconvenience when I asked for water and the instructor poured me water from a Brita from the employee room. This is not a warm yoga class, it is high heat and humidity. This is definitely a safety concern to have water limitations and opposite of a "healing" experience. read more

As a person new to yoga, and yelp reviews, I simply could not let others be taken advantage of by this studio. I recently purchased the new client two week membership for $75. Five minutes into my first class I knew I was not ready for the overwhelming heat. So out of concern for my health, I left. Within ten minutes I emailed the studio to explain my situation and kindly ask for a refund. Two days later, I CALLED THEM to follow up. Was told purchases are final sale no matter the circumstances. While I understand policy, business, etc, I was under the impression a primary practice of Yoga is to enhance mindfulness and connectivity to one's body. Shame on you Radiant for being hypocritical! Actions speak louder than words! MINDFULNESS IS A WAY Of LIFE, IT GOES BEYOND THE STUDIO. DO NOT try Radiant, or be prepared to lose your money up front if it's not a fit. read more

this place is absolutely horrible. because of the owner. I had a SLIP AND FALL ACCIDENT in this yoga studio. where I was exiting the studio after a class. The class was super dark inside and there was WATER EVERYWHERE. I slipped and fell and landed on my tailbone and left arm and luckily got up enough to be able to walk out the door. It was so painful and I cried out while the whole class saw this happen. The whole class was in shock and the class supervisor told everyone to go out the back. I should have called the ambulance but this had never happened to me before. so someone helped me up. and I walked out the door and got in my car and I was embarrassed and so I left. My hands were shaking and it was hard to drive home and I was in shock. I should have stayed and got witnesses and pics but I didn't know what to do. I was shook up. the next day my body felt like it had been hit by a truck. ache's and sores everywhere. I called back a couple days later thinking "shoot I should talk to the owner. I probably need to get ahold of her insurance. Im in so much pain". I got a hold of the receptionist. she (her name was Sky), was like "omg I'm glad your ok! yea people just drop water all over themselves and it's super slippery and dark in there." I finally get ahold of the owner 3 weeks later because she was "Sick". (you mean scrambling to cover your tracks and get rid of any video coverage of me falling tight)..and guess what she says to me on the phone...it was sickening: "you probably do this all the time". like I would "fall like that on purpose to get money". what a horrible person and horrible owner! I really bet she's hoping this goes away and I just forget about what happened a year ago. I really bet she wishes my lawyers dont get ahold of that video coverage of her doing all sorts of illegal stuff after the slip and fall to cover her tracks. so get this...SHE EVEN FIRED THE RECEPTIONIST that had told me that! Mg lawyers can't interview that girl if she's fired! i went into the yoga studio after the insident to see if there was cameras in the e studio and see what I was dealing with. they were training the new receptionist. To the owner: THIS ISNT GOING TO GO AWAY! The illegal way you handled this will only haunt You And your company as far as the eye can see! You can't be irresponsible and run away from your problems. if you handle things in a poor manner you will be shut down and believe me you deserve it! if you want a challenging workout both mentally and physically in a hot room, radiant is the spot. You are getting pushed/encouraged while being reminded to pay attention to your body. Darlene the owner runs classes herself and more importantly brings in the instructors that are knowledgeable, encouraging and will challenge you. My daughter (14) unknowingly signed up for a class with 2 of her friends. They didn't realize a parent needs to attend with them, so decided to cancel the class. They don't do refunds, but give you a year to use the credit. I checked out their website and wish there was more detailed information about age restrictions and cancellation policy. read more

As other reviewers have said, the class instructors are rude, music is too loud to hear what they are saying and most of the class attendees are not even participating. Do not recommend this place - try caffe yoga, yoga six or even core power instead. read more

You're packed like sardines into the most expensive hot yoga studio in Orange County. The spaces are so tight you can't do half the poses (although the instructor's friends had plenty of room to stretch out), the music is so loud you can't hear the instructor, and they try to pack so much in that you don't even have half a second to focus on form. When you make a mistake because you can't hear the instructions, they scold you. The instructor, Tiffany, literally said over the microphone, "I didn't tell you to put your hands up!" I tried to grab my towel and it accidentally brushed my neighbor on her mat, that's how packed it is. Unbelievable. It was a truly awful experience. read more

I paid $60 to try this place out for two weeks. First class was pretty good, but they seem to be really strict about keeping the door closed, they told us that no one can leave for the entire hour. I thought that was a bit extreme. Especially considering how hot it is. Before my second class, I realized that I would probably be two minutes late because of traffic, and I decided not to go, because I didn't want to drive all the way, and then stand in front of a closed door. They charged me $40 for missing that class, I called twice because I had to talk to a manager to ask for it back. I think that's a pretty hefty fee, especially considering that I'm not getting the money that I paid back, the $40 is on top of what you pay for the class that you don't take. The manager who gave me the money back was so condescending, plus this hefty fee, that I have to say I am not even going to use the second week of my free trial. I'm just gonna leave it at one class. I'm giving 2 starts and not 1 because I got the $40 back. read more

The class was extremely hot, and I had to bail halfway through. Even though I've been doing yoga for 20 years and can handle 80-90 degree classes, this one wasn't for me. I was looking for a chill, zen vibe with a focus on form, breathwork, and good energy, which it kinda started out this way. But man, that room was like an oven at 108 degrees! I had to step out for some air. I get that leaving early can mess with the flow, but yoga should be inclusive and supportive, no? Unfortunately, Sage, the instructor, threw some passive-aggressive comments my way when I needed a breather. And this was done on the microphone so there as no privacy with his comments. Another person stepped out shortly after me and when she was about to go back inside, I warned her about him being mean. She hesitated at the door and was worried that Sage would yell at her... Plus, the room was small and smelly, even though they'd just cleaned it. The mat placement was cramped and way too close to each other. I touched the foot of the person in front of me and the guy behind me got some of my toes... keep in mind this class is not so they got toes and sweat. The EDM music was cool, but I can see how it may not fit the yoga vibe. On the bright side, the front desk person with the dark hair was awesome! We even bonded over Naruto. I had to be honest and tell her that I wouldn't be back. She said Sage is one of the nicer instructors, which makes me wonder how intense the other instructors are! read more

I haven't been able to many classes at once in the past. I kept asking them to suspend my account for a while or postpone it, but they didn't listen. However , due to health problems , I could not leave the one - year membership . When you ask them, they always tell the owner to email When I send an email to the owner, there is no reply. After that, I asked to do a freeze again, but there was no contact. I emailed several times but she doesn't contact me In the meantime, I paid over 3000-4000 dollars for hot yoga and only went 5-10 times. I can't suspend my account, I can't postpone it When I tell the front desk, I tell the owner to send an email, and if I send an email to the owner, there is no contact. I shouldn't sign up again second time . My first time experience very bad but couple of years pass so I sign up second time , also very not good . I lost so much money here. read more

There is a reason I've gone to Radiant Hot Yoga for 7 years now...nowhere else beats the heat, style, and the welcoming community. What to expect: Each class is similar in that the flow and the instructions remain the same, helping you learn and continuously advance. However, each instructor lends their own style into it with fun mix ups on poses, or extra stretches and moves. I go to Tiffany, Savanna and Tana's classes for when I want a challenge. I go to Darlene and Hector's when I want a mix of meditative moments with focus on holding poses, and Ashley, Alexa and Skyler's for a centered and unwinding session. There are more instructors and they are all amazing! They are a hotter studio than most. This is explained on their website and in person at check in, and again by the instructor at the start of class. This is one of the main reasons I can't go to any other studio...none of them are hot enough. At Radiant, you know the heat is going to help you cleanse toxins and aids you in learning how to hold poses in special conditions. If you are sensitive to heat, I would recommend you try it out and take their advice to lay down as much as possible and cut out poses as needed until you become accustomed to the heat. I signed up for my first class through Class Pass. I arrived with my friend who recommended the studio to me and the front door was locked with no one sitting at the front desk. We tried knocking multiple times and met two other ladies who were trying to enter the studio. After knocking on the back door numerous times, an instructor opened the door and said "Sorry" then shutting the door in my face. The receptionist, Kyla, opened the front door and said that the instructor snapped at her and told her to not let us in. One of the ladies who were waiting with us drove over 40 minutes and called ahead just to be pushed away. Terrible customer service and I didn't get to try the class, don't waste your time here. read more
