Waxing is a very vulnerable and frankly scary experience, but this place makes it feel as simple as going to the salon! I've been here probably three or four times now and I would go more often if it wasn't for the price (waxes are expensive anywhere, that's just how it is). Radiant waxing was one of the more reasonably priced waxing places I could find in the area of Seattle. Along with the decent prices, it's also a very nice, clean establishment. The ladies who check you in and do the waxing are also very friendly. Booking an appointment is very easy on their online system. After checking in, they have a nice waiting room although you don't normally have to wait long. Once you're in, they take you to one of the rooms so you have privacy for your appointment. I felt really comfortable during my appointment. I did my chin and upper lip and it took maybe 15 minutes? TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE: I have been a customer for 4+ years and will never return. They have shifted to an AI assistant with no option to speak to a human. If u want customer service, go to Wax Bar W. Seattle. Today, I had to park much further than normal and got lost along the way. I was not able to access maps but had Radient Wax in my contacts. I called BEFORE my appointment for walking directions. No option to speak to anyone. I called my partner to help. I arrived 12 mins late. They would not keep my appointment and turned me away. If I had known 12 mins was too late, I wouldn't have run over half a mile to get there. I would have understood and leisurely walked back to my car. Its not unreasonable to little (human) customer service, especially when ur throwing down $100-$150 for THIER service. read more

I was really nervous to try waxing, because I had a horrible sugaring experience several years ago, but I'm a brave gal so in I went. The receptionist was very warm, and between the cozy lobby and friendliness I felt at ease right away. It's really clear that staff knows a lot about the process and packages available. I didn't feel like they were up selling or pushing me, but I felt well informed of the options. I was booked with Chloe, and I'm so glad. She was the perfect balance of talkative and experienced, so not only was I in and out fast, but I felt really comfortable with her. Recently moved to the Seattle area and needed a new wax gal. Radiant Waxing had decent pricing and with the buy one get one free for new clients I decided to give it a try. It was definitely an enjoyable experience considering the services I received. I was in and out in about 35 minutes and it was virtually pain free, which I was not expecting. I've been waxed multiple times at various locations and usually it's always somewhat more painful...so it was definitely a pleasant surprise! I'm going back in a couple of weeks for my free wax and I look forward to establishing my waxing needs at this studio. The only downside is the location and the terrible street parking in Capitol Hill, however there is a parking garage nearby if need be. read more

I'm not one to write a review, and I went back and forth on whether I should, but, ultimately, I felt like I needed to share my experience at LunchBox Capitol Hill. It was highly unpleasant, and I did not feel understood or that my time mattered. I left the place in tears!! Let me start by giving context; I recently moved to Seattle, WA, from Portland, OR in April. I heard about Lunchwax through a quick yelp search and when I first started coming to them was back in May-June, I believe, and I saw Crystal - She was terrific, and honestly I kept coming back for her; she was knowledgeable, friendly, and made me feel at ease. I told her that I had gotten Brazilians in Portland, moved to Seattle recently, and had sensitive skin, and I was trying to find a waxing place as outstanding as Urban Waxx. She gained my trust and made the experience pleasant. Fast forward to last week, I scheduled an appointment to do Armpits and maybe a Brazilian. My skin was sensitive, and I wanted to see if I could. Last week I ended up just getting an armpit wax since I didn't feel like my skin could handle a Brazilian that day, and I also didn't know the waxer. I wanted to gain trust. The lady that helped me, I believe to be the owner. I don't know; she booked me for an appointment for today at 1:45 pm. It started so wrong. I was under the impression that the lady (who I believe to be the owner) would be doing my Brazilian nowhere in the attached text does it mention who the waxer would be but, I assumed it was her from previous conversations. I believe the waxer could sense that I felt uncomfortable they offered to rebook me to another day. This would have been fine but, I had come from SLU and had set aside time out of my schedule for this appointment. I'm an Equity Research Trader, and my schedule can be pretty insanely busy since I tend to operate to the New York Stock Exchange operating hours, which tends to be 4 am pst. I wanted to take advantage of the time, and It felt like I was the one offering solutions. 1st - I offered to have the waxer wax me, but I wanted to ask questions, feel comfortable, and gain trust since I HAD NEVER SEEN THEM BEFORE. I have sensitive skin, and right off the bat, the waxer said, "I don't even think we have time anymore" they completely brushed the idea when it was 1:50. It seemed like the waxer did not want to deal with me or I was being unreasonable, but I was getting a Brazilian, and it's a susceptible area of my body. I had never been with them before. 2nd I offered to wait at a coffee shop until their next available appointment - I mentioned I had brought my computer and had walked from SLU. The waxer indicated that they had no available appointment until Friday. I noted that my schedule this week was busy, and I could not make that time. I indicated that never mind, and that's when the waxer stated that they would charge me a 10% cancelation fee. The thing was, it's not about the money (I'm probably going to end up driving three hours back to Portland to book an appointment at Urban wax, and ill probably cost me more) but, that just seemed so unfair. I made the appointment, and I tried to work with them. They are the ones who offered to cancel right away, and second, I offered to wait for the next available appointment in a coffee shop. I'm busy at work, and I still made an effort to show up, and they brushed me off and didn't seem to comprehend my time or the fact that never did they indicate who the waxer would be in the text. It was someone I had never been with before. It seemed that they didn't care about their customers. When I asked to speak to a manager, the lady who had seen me last week said that the 10% was the policy and that my card would get charged, and she offered another time today at 5. I indicated that I wasn't trying to be difficult, I just had never seen the waxer before, and I didn't feel comfortable. She then said, you know about the 10% policy, and we had issues with you about this in the past. Issues? There was an instance I will admit that a meeting I had at work was running later than expected (out of my control), and I had called them to let them know and asked for a later time. If that's what she meant? But, work meetings are out of our control. She came off so unreasonable, unprofessional, and unable to adapt to customers' time. She also said that the 10% is for the waxer's time, and they work to commission. That doesn't seem fair to put that on the customer we are already paying for a service, we also (at least I do tip 20% all the time) Maybe the real issue then becomes STOP PAYING COMMISSION and pay a salary!!!! I came here in June to get the BOGO deal. One issue is the late policy is only 5min but they're located on the busiest street on Capitol Hill. Also, I'm a woman of color and my hairs are curly and I have sensitive skin. I remember spending $40 on Uber just to get there past the time and learn that they only use strip wax which is definitely a deal breaker for me. I wasted time and money coming here only to walk out. They said hard wax was only for small spaces of the body like under arms, But not the legs because of the it's cost. I wish they used hard wax for clients with sensitive skin. read more

Anyway I explained to the staff and they swamped me over to Crispin which I appreciated. And Crispin made me feel totally comfortable and did a great job. Such a professional place. I was initially a little intimidated when it came to the location but parking was a breeze, there are plenty of parallel options and a quarter or two will be fine. Upon entering the space I was super impressed by the cleanliness. Also, they keep the door locked which is an added comfort not only for me but i'm sure for the workers as well. I went in for a Brazilian with Crystal and she was not only professional, but very genuine in her care for my comfort during the service. It was a lovely mix of talking technique about waxing, and of course the conversation flowed naturally elsewhere. Having small talk during a wax definitely helps take your mind off of the not so pleasant sensations. I will be making this my regular spot from here on out. My very first time there was not pleasant at all. They had a worker at the time who just didn't fit the job as far as customer interaction. An incident happened with her and fortunately the owner was able to resolve the issue. I switched to getting waxed with Chelsea who is amazing to say the least! Great personality and had great conversations with to distract me from the pain. I appreciated her using the high frequency wand at the end of my visit which I believe helped a lot with the redness/swelling and razor bumps. I haven't seen her on the schedule for a while now so I assume she's moved on sadly. Nothing compared to my experiences with Chelsea. She could get my wax done in 15 mins if needed and the wand was the absolute cherry on top. If anyone knows where Chelsea went please let me know! I decided to continue getting waxed at Lunchbox but the service was just decent. Waxes were inconsistent and increased razor bumps. After about 3 waxes with the new gal I decided that lunchbox wasn't for me anymore. Also, give yourself 15 minutes to find parking. She's super friendly and makes you feel at ease and explains the steps, etc. As far as pain goes these are never going to be pain free but the wax I received was quick and as painless as possible. I especially loved the high frequency zap at the end to close the pores and prevent ingrown hairs. I definitely recommend her!!! read more
