I went to sugar plum at the downtown Seattle location, and had a great experience. I dont remember the name of the person who sugared me, but she was really nice and great. She was waiting on me when I arrived, which I really appreciated. She let me in and checked my temperature, etc. Due to COVID-19 regulations. She waxed my arms and legs. She made sure to double check to make sure she got all the hairs. She was very nice and I enjoyed talking with her and sharing my story with her. I had little to no complications after waxing. This place is great. I started going to the Kirkland and was sucked in by the professionalism and ease of Melissa. But of course it was right before she was to leave for downtown. There was no way I was going downtown, so I hung around Kirkland for my next three appointments and honestly, it wasn't the same. I was breaking out, the professionalism wasn't there, or I was just torn up badly. So, I decided to give downtown a try. The best time for me is on Sundays and Melissa only works Saturday. So I gave Moon a shot. Anyway, she was, and IS just as good as Melissa! Quick, efficient, makes me feel so comfortable, and I'm actually super smooth with NO breakouts! As much as I dislike going downtown, I'll make the trip out of my comfort zone to come and see these two girls. They are the BEST!! And about the sugaring: when it's done correctly, it's great! Today though, I had an appointment that I made well in advance but when I arrived I was told my technician called out. I totally understand that people get sick but I wasn't called , texted or emailed about it. Going downtown is a pain in the butt and takes me a lot of time, I arranged my day around going there. She was great at telling me exactly when to breathe and exhale deeply (so that the process wouldn't hurt as much), checking in with me about my hair preferences, and being an all-around great conversationalist. I started out with an amazing esthetician at the downtown facility, who unfortunately left the company but was then placed with Jonalyn and I've loved her service ever since. This is an edited review. I wrote the below after a few failed attempts to contact someone via email and was frustrated, and after a bad reaction I had from the sugaring. Like redness and irritation 5 weeks after the appointment. The person sugaring me went over the same spot too many times. BUT! After that, I left a message via the downtown phone number to cancel my appointment, was called back quickly, and was able to cancel my appointment very easily. I was also followed up with very quickly by the owner. The calm, genuine concern I was showed really gave me a change of heart. As far as sugaring goes, I generally had good experiences here, and it seems like other people do too. There have been times when the person sugaring seemed rushed, but truly, it really seems like this was the exception and not the rule. Most importantly, I also have to acknowledge the quality of customer service provided by the owner and the person I spoke with on the phone. Both showed genuine concern, followed up quickly, and refunded me immediately. I'm really impressed with both of them. While I had a really hard time contacting them via their website, they were very responsive to a phone call. I give them 4/5 stars because I had 1-2 off experiences, but again, this seems to be the exception and not the rule. I would recommend this place, but if you have sensitive skin or any concern, just let them know. They will be very caring and responsive. ORIGINAL REVIEW: I've been getting my upper lip sugared here for about a year, and have seen the same person almost every time. I've never once had a less than excellent experience here, every single person I've ever interacted with whether they are my esthetician or not have always been the friendliest people. And this is consistently at every location I've been in. I usually go to the Kirkland location, but I procrastinated on making an appointment and they ended being super booked and I refuse to go to anywhere besides Sugar Plum for my hair removal so I drove here through traffic to Downtown Seattle on my day off and happily paid for parking. Brazilian waxing is the most painful thing I've ever felt, less pain than a broken heart, but more than a tattoo. Luckily the ladies that work here are soooo nice to distract me from the pain. Kari was my esthetician and she did an amazing job, and fast too so I can get going. I This cute little boutique is located in a room of the Medical Dental Building, take the elevator on the right to the 13th floor. Their online system is so easy to use! Unfortunately they are a cashless company so only debit/credit cards, but that shouldn't be a problem for people since it's 2018. Prices are reasonable, your first time you get VIP pricing and if you come back 4-6 weeks, you get to keep the VIP price also so I recommend giving this place or sugaring in general a try, it's a more organic way to go. I can not explain how wonderful my experience was at Sugar Plum. My esthetician was Kristina and she was AMAZING. She let me know off the bat that it would hurt a little since it was my first time and she was right. I've gotten waxed many times in the past but the sugaring has a different level pain but the pain subsides at the end. I was offered a sage rock I believe that's supposed to help w/ the pain but I didn't want to seem like a wimp so I passed on it. Kristina help me get my mind off of the pain by simply talking to me. We had an awesome conversation w/ one another and I'll definitely be back for my six week sugaring session. Sugar Plum offers a complementary touch up where they go back to sugar off any hairs that they may have not been able to get during your first session. I love'd that and will be taking advantage of that sweet perk!! The entire Brazilian literally took 15 minutes. All in all I will now and forever Sugar. Regular waxing is for amateurs!! read more

I never write Yelp reviews. This would be my first, but this place is so amazing and beyond deserving of 5 stars that I have to! I've been going to Megan for awhile now and she's never been anything less than amazing! Seriously! She makes sugaring so painless that my friends don't believe me when I tell them I actually enjoy my Brazilian's now. She's so lovely and makes me feel so comfortable each time (everybody knows how awkward Brazilians can be). She gives me this cold stone to place on my tummy to ease the discomfort and it's so helpful, you focus more on the cold than you do on the actual waxing. I love her so much and can't imagine going anywhere else now. I've only gone to this location, so I can't comment on others but the cleanliness and the environment here is always friendly so I imagine the other locations hold the same expectations. I've never once had a bad experience. I've tried other places where checking-in or checking-out wasn't always the most pleasant experience but I never feel that way here. I can honestly say I don't think I'll ever go anywhere else for my sugaring needs.... like ever. Why would you? The price is freaking amazing to add! I urge everyone to try this place and Megan.
