This review is long overdue! I usually get Jessica, or Kayla, and I appreciate their attention to detail, and perfectionism! But really, all the estheticians I've had are highly-skilled, friendly, sweet, and overall awesome ladies -- seriously! If you're getting a Brazilian for the first time ever, there's no other place I'd recommend more. The prices are super reasonable, and even better -- especially if your hair grows faster than the speed of light -- if you join the Friends With Benefits program (Dude, $51 a month for unlimited Brazilians? Come the f*** on -- 100% worth EVERY PENNY). And their unlimited programs don't have that idiotic cancellation policy lame af European Wax Center (Yes, I read the fine print for both of their respective unlimited programs). I have never had to call even a day in advance. If you call in the morning or afternoon, they usually can book you same day -- even on Saturdays -- quite often within 1-3 hours, and sometimes even immediately. They're also quite generous about accommodating late arrivals, if you make sure to call notifying that you might be late at least 30min before the appointment (Please do this if you're going to be late! These ladies provide exceptional service, and more than deserve to have their time respected) Their service is VERY prompt here. Only once have I actually had to wait more than a minute to be served. Not to mention the salon is SUPER CLEAN, and aesthetically pleasing. They have mints, and water in the waiting area (My first time there was their anniversary, and they had cupcakes ^_^). Oh, and the piles of free "fresh box" wiped in the bathroom? Everything I've needed in my life, and more -- perfect for a lady on the go! Super service and absolutely lovely ladies. I have driven by this place since it was being built and have always been curious, but I was a European Wax Center customer and always stuck to what I knew. However, going to EWC has become an extremely frustrating experience - they are always calling to reschedule, you never see the same waxer because they have so much turnover, and some of them are careless and sloppy. More than once I have had to go back to have a "touch up" and they weren't that nice about it. So, when my last wax passes ran out, I decided to give Lunchbox a try. I called on a Saturday afternoon and they were able to get me in for an eyebrow and Brazilian wax right away. I came in and was super impressed by the facility - super clean and impeccably decorated. My waxer Ashton was amazing - she really took her time and did an excellent job. She clearly has a lot of experience because it was much less painful than my recent experiences have been. They were happy to book my next appointment but I didn't feel pressured and it was nice to not have them pushing products on me. Overall I was very happy with my experience. I went in today to get my eyebrows done by Mariyah! It had been a while so I was a bit nervous but Mariyah made me feel very comfortable. The first thing she asked me was what I was looking to do with my brows. She was very thorough, took her time, and explained the process as she was doing it. She's very easy to talk to, and I learned that she used to work for Benefit, so I knew at this point that my eyebrows were in good hands! In the end they came out looking BOMB! I have been here a few times and the staff is excellent. Appointments are very prompt. I have never had to wait even a minute from my scheduled appt time. Wax temp is consistent all the time. For men looking to wax private areas they are one of the few in the east bay that perform that service. My only other experience with waxing was with European wax center. It was ok however this is next level. European wax center will not wax men above mid thigh. My only complaint is the music. I wish customers or staff could choose from a list of approved music rather than listen to elevator tunes for an hour. read more

Well, not completely painless, BUT I can honestly say I've never had a LESS painful wax or sugaring! I'm somewhat socially awkward (self-proclaimed), but Kayla made me feel comfortable in a low-key, informal, i-definitely-don't-mind-your-bits-showing kind of way!! I got the lower leg, underarm, and extended Brazilian. They use a different technique called "speed waxing". Sounds intimidating, but it's actually extraordinarily effective :o) Believe me... She explained all the different ways this situation could've been handled rather than being dismissive to the client. It was really nice talking with her and just having her understand where I was coming from. She welcomed me to come back to the salon saying she'll make sure I have a better experience and they will accommodate me in my services as well. Whenever I am ready to go back I'll make an appointment and update my review after the services. I have been a loyal client in the Florida location before moving to the west coast and was very sad to have to part ways with them but luckily I was able to get a good response from the owner. *Original Post* If I could I would give 0 stars. I have been to this location before and had a good experience so I decided to come back. I called in and made an appointment on my only day off in the whole month and planned my whole day around this appointment. I scheduled for multiple services so I was going to have a long appointment. I show up at the time of my appointment and the front desk girl tells me that someone will be with me shortly. 10 mins into my appointment time the front desk tells me they'll have to reschedule my appointment because the person who was supposed to wax me isn't there. Now I understand things happen but they had nothing to say but "sorry we have to reschedule". I drove 30 mins to get here and blocked out a whole chunk of my day for this just for them to show no remorse. Instead of saying hey we can see if we can fit you in with another person later today or maybe we can do one of the services you came for or maybe we can discount your next service as an apology they just acted like "too bad". I hate giving bad reviews but if I felt like they genuinely tried to accommodate me and felt bad for wasting my time I would've appreciated it and wouldn't be writing this review. When I asked if the manager was going to do something about it the front desk girl said "the manager isn't here". There should be some accommodations made for cancelling an appointment when the client has already showed up. Horrible customer service. Never coming back here. I had the opportunity to be a "volunteer" recipient of a bikini and half-leg wax before the official opening in a few weeks. I was not asked to do any kind of review, but I want to anyway! It smelled lovely when I walked in. I was greeted warmly and offered water while completing the paperwork. My waxologist Jessica made sure I was comfortable and that any questions I had were answered. Lunchbox has the little disposable undies as well as individually packaged "freshen up" wipes. Somehow both items made it feel more civilized despite the fact the in the end she still has to be all up in my privates. What I loved the best, though, was the result! I've had a number of waxes from reputable places throughout the tri-valley and I nearly always end up bruised in a spot or two around the bikini line. Just delicate I guess. But this time? Nada! Just super smooth. And my legs felt moisturized the rest of the day! Bottom line: very glad they've opened up here. I'll definitely be booking in the future! read more

Let me start with this... Wow! I will never ever ever go anywhere else! I always used to get my Brazilian at European wax center. I have to say I never left there truly satisfied, impressed, or wowed. And it always hurt pretty bad. So I decided to give Lunchbox a try. And am I ever happy that I did. Walking in to the salon it is so modern and inviting. The staff were all nice and welcoming. And the waxing rooms are impeccably clean. They let you keep your dignity by stepping out of the room to let you undress, and give you a little sheet to cover up so you are not just laying there totally exposed. I had the pleasure of getting to know Ashton. She was super awesome. Made me feel so comfortable in what can be a very awkward and uncomfortable situation. From the first pull I thought wow, this is really different then what I am used to. Ashton is very meticulous and takes her time to get each and every little hair. We talked the entire time which made it also go by really quickly. I'm not going to say it was painless but... It truly wasn't bad at all. And the end results were absolutely perfect!
