Came to this brewery in Rockford and we got a few beers. It's kind of a small one, but they still manage to have a pretty big selection on fans. Radicle Effect is like a brewery for nerds with the scientific references and stuff. Lots on tap and much more in bottles and cans. The only bad thing is there's only a few house brews and lots more are guests, so it's hard to get something that was made from here. Atmosphere is like a hip nerd kind of feel. It's pretty much all about the beers here. This makes a good place for going to after dinner in the evening it seems. It's about $7 a pint. The best one of these I had was the We Have The Technology. It's an amber ale. Plus it's made with coffee and vanilla. A slightly strong one at 6.0% ABV. The food is limited to chips for like $1 or so, but you can have something delivered if you to eat though. Getting here isn't too bad but the parking kind of sucks on the street at least. It's at the corner of 14th Avenue and 31st Street. The only bad things are the limited house beers and lack of food but whatever. read more

Good place to grab a unique beer either made in house or from the huge canned selection. If that's not your style then grab a Schlitz for 3 dollars or less if they got a deal going. Have a pool table, darts, board games you can grab, and sometimes a pinball machine. During the summer also a great spot to sit outside with friends and drink a few beers. Great service from the bartenders always. Have a variety of food trucks park close by sometimes that always have great food. read more

Radicle Effect beers are really delicious - the one downside is there were only 5 of them on tap with several 'guest beers' that are more commercially available. The environment is fine - the music a bit all over the place (country, alternative, classic rock) so there might have been a jukebox somewhere that I didn't see... The bartenders were pleasant, the place was clean, and it felt laid back here. I would've given a 5 but I just wish there were more Radicle Effect beers because they were so tasty! read more

Outdoor patio, good beer, and I've been offered free food multiple times since I got here. From our waiter, from another guy who may or may not be the owner or just another patron. Not too scenic and the patio could use some shade... but it's a good place to stop otherwise. 5 stars for service, playing the Deftones and all the free food possibilities. read more

Not Against the Grain anymore... Has some weird name that I laughed at and now I can't remember it.. But they changed the name. Against the Name? Anyways, their selection is always good and varies quite a bit. (Not too much of one kind of beer. A good mix of ales, IPA's, porters, stouts, unique seasonal brews, etc you get the point) Prices are always good here too! They don't gauge ya for the fancy stuff like some places. Only complaint is: music is usually a bit too loud (I guess I am an old man?) and their is one bartender here that is dismal. Older bald guy though?? Killer bartender. read more

The best beer in the Quad Cities! I know several home brewers and they all agree. They usually have 3 or 4 of their own beer on tap and 1/2 dozen other great beers from all over the country on tap. If that ain't enough, they have around four dozen cans and bottles of terrific output from other American microbrews. There's also Schlitz on tap if you're short on cash or just want a traditional American lager. I guess you could get a Bud Light there, but I don't know why. There selection of whiskeys isn't large, but very good. No chow at REB, but you bring in some take-out or have something delivered. read more

Best beer selection, rotates consistently. Good taps tapped fast. Staff is the best: knowledgeable, courteous (even when they shouldn't be), and affable. Find another service industry locale that has had 0% turnover in 5 years, and go there. The owner invests in training, brewing, and generally cultivating the best staff I've ever known. Clientele a mix of townies and Auggies, but ambience never gets to the point where a guy has to shout to be heard. If you can, get here, drink beer, be a happier version of the person you are now. read more

I'm sure this place will really take off and be a solid place to have a beer at some point. As of right now, they don't have any of their own brews, but they do have a great selection of microbrews from across the country. They plan on being a "nanobrewery" that only makes 10 gallon sets of beers at a time. The only disappointing thing was the service and the overly amplified techno. But both of those are fixable. I hope to leave a better report soon! No food on site so make sure you ask for menus from the local take out places as they will deliver food in. read more

One of my favorite places in the Quad Cities! REB is not your typical every day brewery. When you walk in, you'll notice the hand painted murals on all of the walls. You'll also notice a pool table and juke box along with their brew room. The atmosphere here is really more of a fun local bar environment- which makes sense being that, along with beer REB also features a complete bar with lots of specialty high end liquors. Along with the bar, the beer selection here in incredible! They have a few REB brews on tap, several other crafts on tap, and nearly 100 unique bottle beers. Their brewmasters and bartenders are really friendly and knowledgeable, so they make sure that you'll always get a drink that you love! Ultimately, if you're looking for a good beer, or just a good time, I highly recommend heading down to Radicle Effects Brewery! read more

I came here last Friday night while visiting the Quad Cities and had a great time! The décor is nothing to brag about, but the staff was friendly and they have some great beers. They also make there own beer, which is a plus in addition to having one of the best tap lists in the QC. The vibe is very relaxed and they have a back area with pool table and darts. I live a minute or two from this joint and I'd like to say thank you for bringing great craft beer to the neighborhood guys. The beer selection is the best in town hands down. They haven't started brewing yet but for good reason. I talked to one of the owners (the Brewer) and he explained they were taking their time getting the brewery up to make sure the finances were good, good call guys. This is a nice thing to see these days instead of just jumping in the deep end and drowning they are making sure they are going to stick around. The selection in this place is absolutely incredible. For craft beer you can't get any better than this. There are dart boards, a pool table, and a pin ball machine in the back. REB is our favorite bar in the QC and is our go to place for a chill evening with friends. Their homebrews are as good as and are often better than the local microbreweries and their tap/bottle selection is excellent as well. The atmosphere is friendly and the bartenders always play eclectic music. While they don't have a kitchen, they sometimes host food trucks and are totally fine with patrons bringing their own food.
